I really like Canton House! It is usually pretty busy in the mornings on the weekends, but that is to be expected at a dim sum restaurant. Depending on the day and time, it can either be lively or a bit more quiet inside. The service is usually good, but sometimes it can be slow. It is nothing that bothers me too much because the food is pretty good. Whenever I go here with my family and friends, we usually order Chicken Feet, Shrimp Dumplings, and Sliced Taro Shrimp. I really like the chicken feet! It tastes good and the skin is soft enough to chew and eat. I am also a fan of their shrimp dumplings with soy sauce, as well as the sliced taro shrimp because of its crispiness! I also like ordering their Beef Chow Fun to share family style. The Egg Custard Bun is also really yummy; the inside custard filling is sweet enough to balance the taste of the bun. I would highly recommend coming here to satisfy any dim sum needs!

THIS IS for BUFORD HIGHWAY restaurant NOT PLEASANT HILL one. ***FOOD: overall good and authentic Chinese dim sum food. Good variety but the same carts full of the same foods circled around for awhile. The usual rice noodle rolls, siu mai, haw gao, bbq pork buns, sticky rice, congee, scallop dumplings, spinach dumplings, custard buns, custard tarts. All was good but would prefer more variety. Was looking forward to pan fried radish cakes, mango pudding or black sesame dessert which they didn't have but was listed on their menu. One negative is the fact that some items were so cold. I had to ask the server to go heat up our congee because it was ice cold. Some of the dim sum dumplings were only lukewarm not steaming hot. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$ not bad for dim sum lunch. Ate about $100 ***DÉCOR: sparkly chandeliers, grand for wedding for special events, open, lots of seating but parking could be an issue, clean interiors. Organized well run place. ***SERVICE: prompt, servers were attentive for more water or tea, cart pushers didn't always understand what you wanted, just wish some of the carts actually turned on their sternos or whatever it is that heated up the food in the carts. ***RECOMMEND: RECOMMEND because their food is good and satisfies that dim sum craving.FYI - did go to the PLEASANT HILL CANTON HOUSE on MOTHER'S DAY & it was a disaster - chaos, late opening, 1.5hr wait until we got to sit down, not enough staff, manager was overwhelmed, dim sum was ice cold, expensive. I didn't write a formal review of CANTON HOUSE PLEASANT HILL location. because want to give them a 2nd chance.

Canton House is a phenomenal Dim Sum restaurant!I have been here several times throughout the years, and more recently on Father's Day. It was a packed restaurant, but the food and service were still top notch. The Dim Sum here is authentic, delicious, and are pushed around via service carts (the best kind of Dim Sum)! The restaurant has traditional seafood restaurant / banquet hall vibes, and is not far from the BuckHead Bars (10 min drive). I love coming here after a night of drinking and enjoying authentic Dim Sum.Great place to take family, dates, or friends! An absolute must try!

Been going here for years! Unfortunately, I almost never get my food pictures here because I always end up feasting immediately as food is placed down before me.Some of my favorite dishes here:black pepper short ribs: my favorite cut of meat, seasoned with the perfect amount of black pepper. I love how tender the meat is and how the juices pair well with a bowl of plain riceshrimp shumai: so juicy, they're so sweet in that delicious seafood way. easily eating 3 servings of thesechicken feet: not everyone's speed, but I personally love how the skin is so soft and spicy, basically falling off the bones as you take a bite inThe service is best it can be with the crowd they draw in; it is so busy on the weekends! Definitely get in before that brunch rush. I've been when there was no wait as well as when it had a 45 minute wait. The waiters are kind and attentive. The place is definitely a bit older than some others, but it has that authentic charm to it. I would love to attend a wedding event here. Definitely will be back soon!!

Not bad, just not great.... The below numbers are based on a scale starting at 5. So I've been hearing about this spot for quite some time and decided to check it out. Upon entry, I was seated but it took a while for someone to come over to acknowledge me; Service -2... ordered the tea and vegetable egg rolls and shrimp dumplings for an appetizer. Tea was good and the appetizers were as well; Appetizers + 1...ordered the House Lo Mein and was disappointed when it came out. Initially it had no shrimp. I addressed it with my waitress and they remade the dish. The remake was good and enjoyed the the food overall; Food -1I will mention that this establishment is know for their dim sum, as I seen several carts moving around the dining area and people choosing plates from the cart. I plan on checking this spot out again. I sat at a table because there wasn't a bar...

You either already like dim sum, or you don't - this review is written by someone who does love it and rates this option highly. If you're not a dim sum person (as one of my table-mates definitely isn't), then you are not my target audience as I can't convert you in a short review. You'll probably dislike any dim sum experience. My expectations before I visited? I was planned for a long wait, fast service and an afternoon snoozing away the excess consumption. The reality? Arriving at 11:45AM on a Sunday, we were 2nd in line and the wait was very short. The front of house staff were super friendly and welcoming, and we were seated within about 10 minutes. The service was indeed SUPER fast, and we had to take a break a few times to catch up. Everyone was so helpful and quick to send in a special order if something we wanted wasn't on the carts. The place was packed, and noisy - it was a great atmosphere and stayed busy the whole time we were there. The food is hot and fresh, with all the items you'd expect. The staff is great at explaining and understanding what you're looking for. Great meal - awesome value. We will definitely return.

Canton House is an old standby that we use to love for their Dim Sum and wonderful banquets. Went today for lunch however, including weekday Dim Sum and was very disappointed despite the bright crystal chandelier filled dining room.We tried both chicken feet and steam black bean ribs, both underwhelming and not even hot. The chicken feet lacked flavor balance, primarily salt. The ribs were cold and congealed, and more chewy than they should have been.Lunch entrees included Shredded Duck Pan Fried Noodles which was good tasting, but the noodles lacked the traditional pan fried crispness. We also got Hoi Sin Chicken with plenty of veggies, but were hard pressed to find much chicken at all. The flavor was okay, but underwhelming. It came with Hot and Sour Soup that was good, spring roll that was average, and fried rice that was just soy sauce and rice, nothing else! Again, disappointing output from a place as good as I know Canton House could be.Verdict, we surely won't be back for their lunch menu and better Dim Sum choices are close by!

I love the wide selection of dim sum they have. I first chose them because they were the only dim sum place that had fried taro balls and omg they are to die for. I have yet to have a dish from here I didn't like. Everything tastes incredible and freshly made, plus the prices really aren't that bad.Heads up if you're going in the evening for dim sum, call in advance and ask what time they are doing dim sum until that night. I have driven there before, live 45 minutes away, got there 1.5 hrs before they closed and they said they weren't doing dim sum anymore.Definitely worth it though. Highly recommend!
