Canton Chinese Restaurant

Canton Chinese Restaurant in Coral Gables offers a decent dining experience but didn't quite live up to my expectations. The food is fairly standard, Americanized Chinese, with some dishes being more flavorful than others. The service was efficient, though not particularly warm or memorable. The ambiance is a bit dated, and the AC seems to need some repairs as it drips on customers as they wait for food. Overall, it will be unlikely that I return.

Very large and well lit room and great place for large parties.The beef chow fun was outstanding and I recommend and will order again for sure!The Szechuan chicken and vegetables had amazing veggies but the sauce was a little sweet for me.The service was fast and the server was sweet. We ordered fried rice to go and look forward to try it tomorrow.

We had a very nice lunch here, the waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was very clean. I had the chicken chow mein with egg, foo, young and vegetable fried rice. It was so large I took home 1/2 of it.to start off we had a big bowl of wonton soup and egg roll. You always get your hot tea to go along with it. All this good food was under $10. parking is a little bit of a problem because it's right downtown but we found a spot behind the building.

It was not amazing, but it was not bad. Came here to eat with the family. Ordered the Honey Chicken and it was enough to feed four people. We also ordered shrimp fried rice and one bowl of Wonton Soup. The chicken was good, not dry and just the right amount of sweet. The breading was not greasy. The shrimp fried rice order was enough for three people. They did not skimp on the shrimp, which we loved, but the rice did not have a lot of flavor. The wonton soup was very tasty. We were seated and served very promptly. The decor and ambience made me think of a Chinese restaurant I used to go to as a child. I don't know why but it gives me that 90's family feel.

Our family has been a patron of this landmark ever since we can remember and the last couple of times we ordered take out, the quality of the food was just not there anymore. I was obviously concerned and even though I expressed my concerns to them they just brushed it off. Having said that, there goes their service ethics and the ambiance just feels like exactly what it is "a has been." Now, what put the last nail in the coffin for our family were the 28 health code violations and the fact that they closed without notice and reopen for business as if nothing happened. This is DISGUSTING AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! You have to know when it's your time to go and Canton, it's your time to go! This is the health of the community you are putting at risk! Shame on you!

Best Chinese food in the Miami area. It's one of the few Cantonese places I've found locally. The food and service is great and especially quiet during lunch.

our family has been going to Canton for around 40 years now, and it never has been a let down!! the people who work there are the nicest and friendliest ever! they have a wide range of options on the menu and so far all the dishes we have tried have tasted amazing!! the inside is nicely put together as well, making it a perfect place to be together with friends and family. normally i get a sushi roll, but this time i found their salmon on the menu and HAD to try it. IT WAS SO GOOD! and everyone else really enjoyed all of their food as well :)!this restaurant is amazing and you have to try!

My family has been coming to the other canton Chinese in Kendal since forever but is closed now so we decided to come to this one to see if our favorite dishes were still the same. We ordered the Shrimp fried rice and canton steak. Delicious as usual!! The portions are larger and the prices are great.The service is top notch! Especially from Lily, who is the BEST!Great Chinese food. Get the canton steak and the shrimp fried rice. You won't regret it!

Food is good for what it is! Everyone is very nice! Delivery is also pretty fast!! I do recommend although i don't know how it is to eat in the actual restaurant since i normally only do delivery.

I pointed out that i was overcharged, and gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was by accident, but they refused to correct my bill. I didn't want to spend hours waiting for the police etc. but was totally amazed that they would not correct my bill. To make the experience even worse i became very ill shortly after eating there. I've done a lot of traveling and have developed a strong stomach but this meal left me in bed for two days. i just read an article the City closed them down due to poor sanitary conditions. Lastly the food was of the poorest quality Chinese food I have ever had. It's a shame that they don't realize that with their location they are sitting on a gold mine if they would just cook with fresh ingredients and clean their kitchen.
