Excellent coffee, service, and tamales. The place is super cute with a nice side patio. There is a homeless services location a couple of blocks away but don't be intimidated by that. The people are homeless but harmless. I will definitely make this coffee shop my downtown go to for coffee.

I didn't get a picture of my coffee but Mr. J was great and offered an off the menu coffee. Extremely hospitable and great service. Quick walk from the court house and delicious coffee + options. Will be back

Very friendly service with a cute indoor space and a neat outdoor sitting area on the side. The drinks were unique and very delicious. They also have some limited food items. I had the black bean tamales and it was delicious.

Nice hole in the wall place. The tamale are delicious and large! They have authentic flavors of coffee not found in your run of the mill coffee shop. Service is laid back and friendly.

The original Campesino is one of my favorite local coffee shops. The downtown location is just more of the same. Good coffee, excellent tamales and a relaxing atmosphere. The shaded side patio is my perfect spot to relax.

First I am giving 5 based on the business. The outside part and where it is located is gonna be 1 . This coffee house is located downtown so be aware there is a lot of homeless people in the area. Outside of that the staff is friendly and attentive. The coffee is small and intimate. The best part is that they have pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread)!!!!!! I highly recommend the maranito (piggy) Their niche is Cuban coffee and there is a variety of ways to intake this greatness.

Interesting use of diction but I'm not surprised. It is hilarious how inconsiderate the manager was with his response. So, I guess it makes sense as it reflects how unprofessional he is. Here is a reply: YES, sucky service and coffee. What is so "suspect" about an honest review. Here is a photo of the questionable "latte" I consider has the quality of a watered down drip coffee. Coffee shops I recommend are Luce Coffee, Antidote, DUO, Segundo. If you want some quality coffee

Great option for coffee downtown. Tucked away next to the Sam Houston Hotel, it provides a great breakfast alternative if you want to skip the hotel breakfast!Ham and Cheese Empanada and the "Piggy Pastry" were great!

I've been to the original campesino location and always loved the entire experience of the coffee shop. So glad to say this one is a hit too! I work nearby so a coworker and I visited last week and while it's not the same size as the original, it does have cute patio seating available on the side. The horchata iced latte is my go-to drink and it never disappoints but the best part, in my opinion, is the baristas. They were so friendly and knew how to keep conversation going while we waited for our drinks. I'll be coming back for sure!Side note: I'm already used to the area this shop is located, but for those who are not, keep in mind that this is down the street from where homeless services are provided. So yes, there will be people hanging around the street who are currently unhoused and with nowhere else to go. I've personally never had any issues with anyone so just don't be rude, have empathy because you don't know their situation, and go about your business.
