Cafe Vinh Long restaurant menu includes their famous banh mi, which I find to be the best tasting Vietnamese hoagie in Philadelphia.

The lady who assisted us was super friendly, and whipped out the Viet coffee fast. It's a small business with some ample amount of seating and they were actually open on a Friday we'll before the 9am "open" time. My coffee was excellent and it was $5 without tax. It might be cash only from what I saw. I'd definitely come back to try their other food as my partner said he's been eating and having drinks from this place for years as a kid and everything is great here.

Love this place! It's a hole in a wall type of place and only the locals dare enter Just kidding. The owner is very nice. The customers are typically from South Philly. I ordered iced coffee (of course), summer rolls and a pork bun. They have other ready-made meals such as rice cakes with pork and sweet rice. I don't know what else is on the menu. The summer rolls platter cones with 4 - very fresh herbs!Iced coffee is delicious - not too sweet or bitterAnd the pork bun was my daughters favorite. Can't wait to go back!

In the area and looking for Vietnamese food for lunch. Something quick. Sounds like bahn mi! Family owned with plenty of seating. Really nice people and spoke good English but clearly with a vietnamese accent (authentic!). Very relaxing for someone like me with limited Vietnamese language. The bahn mi bread was crisp - perfect. I got the cold cuts one or I'd call it bahn mi thit nguoi. Pate is spot on delicious and the meat is the real deal. They have coffee (which I've yet to try) and other Vietnamese dishes. Next time I'm in the area and time to sit down, I'm definitely trying more. Street parking isn't too bad and the price was just $4. Customer service for me is huge and they were really nice. I am rarely in this area but when I am, you'll find me here!

Yum! A friend just introduced me to this spot and their wet cakes. Hot BBQ pork banh mi and the pork buns are delicious too! So tasty and really reasonably priced!

Dropped by to pick up a banh mi for lunch. For those who recall and loved the traditional banh mi at Cafe Nhu Y, try this one. As noted in the first review, they are made when you order, so the bread is warm and toasty, the veggies are crisp, and the meat/pate just the right amount of salty/savory. Delicious! The decor was nondescript, but tidy with a couple tables. They had a small takeaway selection - goi cuon (I noticed they were freshly making it in the back to replenish those just sold), banh uot and banh tet. The two guys seated appeared to have finished some tasty looking curry/stew with crusty bread, and iced vietnamese coffee. Unfortunately, they have no menu in-house, and I hit my cap of questions on the takeaway items to pursue what it was.I wish I could give a solid 3.5 stars, as I would like to try their other offerings before making my next selection. Nevertheless, if you like small, family-run hole in the walls, give this place a whirl!

Hall in the wall family owned place in South Philly. I really wanted to like the place more, but realize (i didn't realize) that most of the food is pre-made. The banh xeo seemed like it was made a couple of hours ago and when we had it, it had none of that crispy consistency and was wet and soggy instead. There also not much meat and shrimp filling in the banh xeo mostly beansprouts. Summer roll was tasty but nothing special about the summer roll, it also had a whole bunch of beansprouts and not much shrimp and pork. Family running the place was super nice, which is why I wished I had enjoyed the food more.

Amazing food! I've come a couple times and tried the spring roles, Vietnamese coffee, and bao. It's my favorite restaurant in south Philly. Wonderful fresh food, great service, and I always leave full and happy.
