In Philadelphia for a work conference, with time to eat my way around town! A search on Yelp brought me to Cafe La Maude. It was almost 2 a two mile walk from where I was staying, near Liberty Bell. The streets are narrow and parking is limited, fyi. Walking in and sat immediately at the open table near the window. Solo travel for the win! I wanted to have something local so I opted for the Baklawa pancakes. Not only are these pancakes a pleasure for the tastebuds, they are also a work of art! No butter or syrup were added or needed for that matter. The pancakes were fluffy and moist, each bite paired with a sprinkling of crushed almonds in between. Now listen, hear me out, have you ever had a moment of complete defeat? This was my moment. I had maybe a quarter of these pancakes and could not continue, they were so filling but I did not want to put my fork down. The location is in a residential area, without very many shops or much else to do, that I saw. But the hood was cute. As I was writing this review, I had to check out their website, they are on Yelp's top breakfast & brunch list for 2024. Go get some!

The interior is cosy, the service is great, and most importantly the food is high value and really good! It made me think that Philadelphia isn't as bad as I thought it wasGreen ShakshukaThe sauce was rich and smooth, and the goat cheese was a great accompaniment to it without being overpowering at all. The whole dish is not too salty in white mouthfuls, and it's great on bread for dipping!Brisket Huevos RancherosThe brisket was soft and well seasoned; the tortilla had a chewy but not too thick crust the sweet and spicy sauce on the crust enriched the flavors; the beans and guac were perfect; in the middle were the French fries, which were not very distinctive, and were soft on the whole; the fries were topped with two runny eggs, which were cooked to perfection! The dish was perfect except for the fries!

Excellent food! Initially when I saw the price, especially for the green shakshuka, I was skeptical and was wondering if the price would be worth it. The answer was a definite yes, as every dish I have tried was on point, and my friends have said the same.I ordered the chicken cordon bleu, which was similar to chicken and waffles with some brown butter syrup to elevate the flavor. I would recommend having a bite of the waffles with the chicken, the turkey bacon (or ham), and the syrup altogether, as otherwise the waffles could be a bit dry. The green shakshuka was also very good, with a very strong tomatillo flavor that naturally enhanced the quality. The tahini sauce was also evident in elevating the flavor. Overall a very pleasant experience! We had to wait for quite a while, almost 30 minutes during Sunday lunch time, and it was very worth it. The worker was very good at intentionally remembering our faces and ensuring we were within proximity when it was close to our turn. We sat outdoors and there were quite a few flies, which didn't bother us, but I thought I might as well bring it up for people to know. It was not the restaurant's fault!

Cafe La Maude is a Philly brunch favorite! The small cafe ambiance and the incredibly flavorful food are just some of the things that make this place special. It is BYOB so make sure you get your bubbles beforehand (highly recommend the pineapple mango juice carafe).

Cafe La Maude did it again! This is a reliable brunch option to put on the table with your friends. It never failes to satisfy! The shakshuka (both red and green) are packed with layers of flavor! But what stole our attention this time around was the stuffed berry brioche with marscapone. It hit the spot! Not usually a sweets person when it comes to eating out for brunch, but this was more than justified! Hot, decadent, and balanced with the tart berries and passionfruit sauce! All topped with phenomenal service!

I've visited this place several times and the Manager always is the first person to greet me making it a very welcoming experience! Great Mediterranean cuisine and this place is BYOB! In addition to great food the coffee is amazing. This restaurant is very cozy and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I always opt for indoor as you can always grab the table by the window. Great location as well for parking.

Unique Foods. Friendly Staff. Great atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time at Cafe La Maude. This place caters French/Lebanese cuisine and it's delicious. Brisket Huevos was a great filling meal! I am definitely coming back here again. I hope you find this helpful. Have a great day.

We walked into this nice little place my wife picked out to go to and said it was a top pick of hers. So we walk on to the mid noise level place, and the owner, Gabigreets us as we walk in. And asked us if we want to sit in the front or back of the restaurant. we picked a spot out front in a full house restaurant at 2 pm. after lunch on a Friday! I was so excited to feel the vibe in the place while writing my review. We went with the Shakshuka with veggies and goat cheese. That was a mouth full of Mediterranean flavors! So delicious! We followed up with the Berrylicious Pain Perdu. We could not decide on the Mascapon or the Nutella, so we went with both. 0MG, a must try! better than dessert but a place where you can really enjoy a meal.

Super neighborhoody breakfast spot. Extremely friendly vibe with fantastic servers that make this spot a very chill easy place to grab a fantastic breakfast. You'll find traditional American breakfast items along with Mediterranean items. The French toast is fantastic! I'm not even a French toast person but found this to be delectable! The bananas were cooked and caramelized making this feel like one of my favorite desserts--banana Foster's!

LOVED coming here for brunch. Service was friendly and fast, and our party of four was seated fairly quickly outside on a weekend (9:45-10am ish). You must order the green shakshuka (divine) and baklawa pancakes when you come here. I'm not normally into super sweet breakfasts so I was hesitant to order the pancakes, but they were the perfect amount of sweet without being overwhelming or heavy. My only warning is that some of the dishes are more spiced than the descriptions let on (the eggs benedict, for example). If you have a lower spice tolerance, I'd double check with the server before you order. The inside of the restaurant is a bit chaotic but looked cute. Outdoor seating was covered (and sealed off and heated, since it was cold out when I went) on a fairly calm street. Can't wait to come back here!
