Cafe De L' Opera

We discovered this establishment after leaving the coffee shop across the street because they did not have any sugar-free options for my wife. This establishment had sugar-free options and the coffee and bagels were delightful. We will certainly return.

This cafe is right across the street from Petco Park. Came here on a Sunday morning ~830 and was helped right away. Got two croissants, one pain de chocolate, and a guava cheese pastry with an iced latte and strawberry smoothie. No sugar added to the drinks. The bread was airy and crisp. French music was playing in the background. Overall, not bad cute spot.

I visited this place for the first time with a coworker who's been a regular. I ordered their espresso, which really packed a punch. The service was good, although the initial welcome could have been warmer. The spacious seating area was a plus, especially during the early morning hours. I'll definitely return, considering it's conveniently close to my workplace. Next time, I plan to take advantage of their deal: order food and get a complimentary coffee?

Ok this little French bakery and coffee shop is one of my favorite coffee spots in East Village!I am amazed to have found it open since it's been maybe 7-10 years since I had visited last. I used to go here to study during law school and going now as an attorney was very nostalgic -- nothing has changed, still cozy, still inviting, still serving delicious drinks and small baked goods.I've always found a place to sit even on days where it appears busier than others. It feels like a little bit of France is in San Diego! Check them out!

This place was on my list to visit while in town and I'm so glad I made it by. I got in right as they opened so it was a few minutes to wait on the croissants which was fine because the smells coming out of that kitchen were heavenly. I ordered a coffee, a regular croissant and a pain au chocolat.A croissant fresh out of the oven is something everyone needs to experience lol. This was the best croissant I've ever had in my life. Soooo buttery and flaky. The pain au chocolate was equally as good and now I will be on a hunt in my area to find something that can even come close to Cafe De L'Opera.Definitely a must visit if you're looking for a bakery downtown. Kicking myself for only being able to come by once during my stay and not making time to come back.

Everything I have tried here I love. The sandwiches are amazing the salads are fresh and made with real greens you can taste. The croissants are the best I have ever had and the cupcakes and macaroons are to die for.

Best coffee spot and the banana nut bread is the best ever. Melts in your mouth . I think allthe pastries are good .

Blueberry Cheese croissants fresh out of the oven here are something that you don't know you're missing in life, but you are. I don't know how they get it to melt in your mouth as it does, but that sweet flavor explosion is my once a month (ok, week) treat... You honestly can't go wrong with anything here. Lunch sandwiches are good too and very reasonably priced for downtown.

Coffee was excellent. Some of the best we've ever had. We also ordered an almond croissant. Very little almond paste inside and the croissant was badly burnt.

Best coffee and croissant place in town. Hands down. The music is always fitting. Service is always done with the kindness of their heart. Please stop by and get your coffee and croissant today!
