I came to C&C bar-b-que on a whim wanting to try something new and let me say I was NOT disappointed! I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the glorious smell of smoked meats. I was instantly greeted by Carole and Charles as well as one of their employees. I got a lunch combo which includes your choice of sandwich, chips, and a drink. I got a chopped brisket sandwich which was chopped in front of me and was piled into hamburger buns. I was offered to try the brisket beforehand since it was my first time and it was DELICIOUS! While I waited for my meal I talked with the owners and their employee who were all so nice. I recommend this place to anyone who is longing for some good old fashioned bar-b-que!! 10/10 recommend. I will without be coming back!

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! I've known Charles and Carol for a little while now and have had their BBQ on my list of "must try" places for several months! This quaint restaurant is humbly tucked away behind an old antique shop but that doesn't mean people don't know about it! We arrived 10 minutes before opening and I'm glad we did because a few minutes after we placed our order SO MANY PEOPLE SHOWED UP! Everyone was a regular who knew what they wanted and to catch up with everyone. We wanted to try everything on our first visit so we ordered the 3 meat platter and the 2 meat platter with smoked chicken, pulled pork, brisket, ribs and sausage. Sides were pinto beans, potato salad, corn and green beans with 2 sides of banana pudding. OH LAWD. Everything was DELICIOUS! The brisket was absolutely amazing! You barely tugged on it with your fingers and the tenderness of the meat just pulled apart beautifully in your hands. The perfect amount of fat to meat ratio just caused it to melt like butter in your mouth. Close sections were the sausage and the chicken! AMAZING! We loved the green beans and will definitely be ordering more of those in the future! Also MUST TRY the banana pudding! Homemade family recipe to wrap up an amazing bbq meal! We'll definitely be back soon and refer to anyone looking for good Texas bbq! Thank you Charles and Carol!!!

All I can say is "Wow!" No really.. I mean... . First, we are from out of town. Wanted lunch and risked it with this small BBQ spot. They has great reviews but not very many so I decided to leave a review. First impression, it's small place but when I opened the door, I noticed how clean the place is. I was greeted with smiles and "hello, how are you today? " love this. I called ahead for take out. They had the food orders waiting for me. The brisket... Question to ask: Have you ever been able to pull apart a brisket with a plastic fork? No? Well, this place has THAT smoked flavorful pull-apart beef brisket! So delicious! My husband had the ribs. He said it was also smoked goodness. The sausage was really good too. Their portions are big. The sides offered were a good complement. The prices were very reasonable. I'm so glad I took the risk. If your in the mood for some excellent barbecue, you can't go wrong with C & C Barbecue!

The barbecue is delicious. I had the chicken and ribs. They were both very tender and juicy. Banana pudding is amazing as well! The little town is adorable, I found this place by accident when I was getting gasoline at the funny-shaped little gas station across the street.

Bottom Line:The finest BBQ experience in the College Station & Bryan TX area is found on Hwy 21 a few scant miles west (about 5 mi from downtown Bryan). Excellent & inexpensive BBQ and truly exceptional people make C&C BBQ out on Smetana Rd a "Must Do!!!" stop in the area. Your taste buds will be happier and your day will be brighter for it. You can thank me later.Top Line:As is typical on my BBQ road tripping, most eateries in the College Station & Bryan TX got a single visit to check out their vittles & their digs. It takes someplace special to draw a second visit. In the College Station & Bryan area, that place was C&C BBQ. An alternative BBQ joint got slid down the schedule to make time for the second round at C&C on Sunday, since they are currently only open on Sat & Sun.Charles's touch with his smoker is exquisite. The smoke note in the meat is not sharp, edgy, or acrid. His smoke flavor comes out round, balanced, full, velvety, and smooth. His rub has enough peppery snap to give it character, without being harsh or aggressive. Again, balanced and masterful.Ribs on the first visit were meaty, arriving trimmed quite free of fat. This gave the smoke excellent access to the meat, which took it up very nicely. Brisket sandwich on my second trip west was very, very tender and wonderfully juicy. It was a 4-napkin sandwich! That indicates just how tender & moist it was. And it was equally tasty, exhibiting like the ribs Charles's mastery of his craft.Sides are limited to four items: potato salad, whole kernel corn, green beans, pinto beans. Potato salad has a slight hit of pickle juice jumping it up a bit. Corn with diced tomatoes has a bit of bite & snap to it, setting the corn apart from its usual semi-blandness. The green beans were very tender & seemed to have butter dancing in the mix, which made them more flavorful. The pinto beans were rich in flavor due to having some shredded meat added in. Their texture was on the mark as well.Banana pudding was the weakest link in my estimation. The taste was pretty typically sweet banana pudding flavor, which is not a bad thing. The texture, while being smooth & creamy as pudding should be, struck me as being a bit too moist. The vanilla wafers cookies had gotten soggy from the pudding, so there was no crunch or solidity contrast to the creamy pudding.Cost for this Nirvana of BBQ heaven was mondo cheap (see picture), particularly given the extremely tasty food. C&C BBQ is not only some of the very best BBQ in the area, it is also amazingly high value eating due to it's miniscule prices. Also, kudos to them for having a bathroom on premises to clean up in after your (over) indulgence. But to only mention the quality & cost of the food is to tell the lesser part of the story. The greatest part about eating at C&C is the bright, shining, positive, effusive, enthusiastic, sunshiny, uplifting personalities of Charles & Carol. These two folks radiate joy & happiness at an astronomical level. To hang out with this pair while downing such good BBQ makes your visit a jewel among the days of your life.So head west from Bryan TX to the junction of Hwy 21 & Smetana Rd to get your own shot of sunshine from Charles & Carol and a chowdown of their bodacious BBQ. As I said above, you can thank me later.

Remember when Fargo's BBQ was in that decrepit looking shack at its old location in Bryan, and you were unsure about going inside? You'll get the same feeling here when you see this very divey looking place by the side of a gravel road. The feeling might be heightened when you step inside to the small, cramped space and see a crowd of very burly gruff looking local workmen staring back at you.But these folks know something you don't. They know that incredible BBQ is here. Hiding in plain sight off a busy highway. Y'all know about Fargo's, Martin's, C&J, and Kreuz. How many of you know about Lone Oak? Now you do, and should. They sell out fast and the lunch crowd is big, so my advice is go early around 11 when they open. A few small tables will probably be occupied when you get here, so repair to the shaded picnic table outside. On a board are the daily specials. I had brisket, because that's what you check out a new BBQ place with. Holy God was it good...moist, smoky as hell, and just delicious. You can smell the smoke before you even see this place.Another hidden gem on Highway 21. You will almost certainly not see anyone from TAMU here, and business does not seem to be suffering for it.

The place is the opposite of fancy, and most of the (limited) seating is outdoors, but I had *excellent* ribs which more than balances things out. (My companions all expressed complete satisfaction, also.) If I lived anywhere near, this would be a regular stop.
