Dropped in for a simple steak dinner and was pleased with the quality and price point of my 6oz filet. Cooked a perfect medium-rare and served by a very friendly waiter. Establishment has the feel of an urban bistro with a balanced menu and trendy patrons. Small critiques ; First, not pleased that the veggie side was "mixed" and there were no options for just asparagus or creamed spinach. Second, I chose the bone marrow butter sauce which was a bit overpriced considering it tasted like simple whipped butter. I will return.

Was so excited to try this restaurant in light of all the reviews. We tried to get a reservation during our visit in February to Philly so we were so happy when we were able to get a reservation for our March visit. Unfortunately, this was a big let down. The restaurant was quaint and truly embraced the butcher name. The food and service was a disappointment. We order several appetizers, sides, and Entrees and there was no rhyme or reason on how the food came out. Food was brought to table piece mill. The first dish brought to table was a side of french fries mind you no entree. The entree came 15 minutes later.... Appetizer was brought out at end of meal and not everyone in our party had food. Two of us sat there while others had their meals. I waited almost 40 minutes for a wedge salad even though cooked entrees had come out for others in our party. Not what I would have called a wedge salad. Looked like a sad side salad. Bone Marrow appetizer came at end of meal and was all bone and sauce. Sent back and replacement was much better. Lamb Entree was dry overcooked and floating in oil rather than the Lucious wine and lemon as indicated in menu Not sure if it was just an off night as the menu looked great but was so disappointed that we all did not get to eat together and quality of food was lacking. Glad we did not order $350 trough of meat but did sound interesting. If you are adventurous and want to try this restaurant reservations are highly recommended.

I recently dined at Butcher Bar and my experience was just okay. The appetizers, particularly the pretzel bread, were disappointing; it was dry and not as pictured. However, the cauliflower was redeemable and decent. The petite sirloin was tough, though cooked adequately. The side of fries seemed like leftovers, with burnt dried ends. The bone marrow butter was underwhelming, but the cheddar honey biscuit was a highlight.Unfortunately, the service was a miss. There was a lack of attention, as staff didn't return for refills and missed a few orders, leaving me feeling unseen throughout the meal.

You never know what your going to get! I like to look at the menu and see if there is some different stuff that your average "gastropub" doesn't have! Butcher Bar is one! Don't get to see roasted bone marrow to often! Had to dive in! Awesome ! The bacon jam added sweetness. Looking forward to trying other items. Follow me @discoverdinedrink!

A great spot in the city with good food and amazing service! The service honestly stood out the most!My bf and I dined here the other night for restaurant week. It didn't seem packed, but we were seated upstairs rather than the "patio" section. Upstairs was just a bit cramped with the women's restroom. For the first course, we ordered the hipster meatballs and butcher wedge. Both had a beautiful presentation and tasted great. I'm sure the regular meatballs would've been better, but the hipster version was still flavorful! For the second course, we ordered the braised short rib Cavatelli and the grilled Denver steak. The pasta dish was heavy, plentiful and delicious. I loved the light sauce and the noodles were chewy. My steak was a bit too chewy for me. We weren't the biggest fan of the steak itself, but we were fans of the chimichurri and side veggies. For the last course, we ordered the mousse and bread pudding. Unfortunately, we were running late for a show so had to get dessert to go. When we did eat it back home, the bread pudding wasn't warm and the mousse wasn't cold. The bread pudding did not include the ice cream for obvious reasons. It was still good but I know it would've been better if we ate it there. This was a great choice for restaurant week and a place I'd recommend!

Such a phenomenal experience! I really enjoyed my time here for brunch. Sabrina was great! The staff overall was so welcoming and kind. The music was GREAT!!! I sat upstairs with a beautiful view of the restaurant AND window seating. I did the TOP IT OFF brunch experience and it was truly worth it! Beginning with the bottomless drink options (Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Margaritas) and then the starter and entree, phenomenal! I enjoyed the chosen margarita of the day, the Bloody Mix was a bit too gritty for my liking but I still enjoyed my drinks! The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwhich (with the bacon and slaw) is probably the best version of this Sandwhich I've had! It was fresh and very tasty with the additions. The Hash was okay; not but a filler before the main meal. Sabrina was truly a great server! She made my experience such a delight. From her initial welcome and overall spirit/energy during my visit! Every staff member that I encountered during this visit was one to remember. Before leaving, I got the brunch playlist. Check this place out when you get the chance!

My partner and I have been looking for a chance to get out of the house and try new places. One of our friends recommended this place due to the mac and cheese, so we finally booked it! When we got there they seat us right away in the upstairs dining area that was cute and cozy. Luckily we knew it was restaurant week and had the expectations of ordering off that menu, but we were unaware that they were ONLY offering restaurant week with two options of side dishes. Some other tables were pretty shocked about this when we were sitting. I started with the pretzel cheddar bread that was very delicious, but filling. My partner had the confit duck wings, which he enjoyed and they gave him a really good portion for restaurant week! There was about 5-6 wings, they were spicy. For dinner I got the baby back ribs and he got the hot chicken. For the baby back ribs the meat FELLL off the bone it was crazy to me eating meat again after so many years I was shocked. This came with jalapeño cornbread, which was tasty. My partner enjoyed the chicken, however the waffle underneath of it was very soggy from the chicken sitting on top of it. We ordered the fries for extra, which was a small portion for an add on. The mac n cheese was very tasty, but we ended up taking most of it home because how big of a portion. I loved the type of noodles they used! Dessert we both got the strawberry crunch Tres leche, which was ok, not the best Tres leche I ever have had. I probably wouldn't order it again. It could of been more wet as typical tres leche cakes are. The reason for my rating is due to the fact that half way through my meal I realized lip stick stains on my glass that I had been drinking out of, and I don't wear lipstick. In addition, everything was just okay. I'm not sure if we'd come back, but it was a good place to try once.

Solid place for a steak and a drink at the bar; professional service and good steak house / bar vibe. There will be some solid Philly boys at the end of the bar having a good night out, a fun couple on the other side of you getting the night started, your drinks will be well made and there is a fine selection of beer if that's your desire, and if someone needs to get tossed the bartenders are good at that too.

I would give a 3.5 star rating. Because the brunch special they have for $48 with unlimited drinks is great. The location kool and setup nice. Only 2 things were it was crazy loud i couldn't really hear our waitress and the chicken was overcooked my gf had to send hers back because it was hard and dry. Maybe going at a later time , will be beneficial. I think the seating in back area was so close and thats why it was hard to hear our waitress. Other than that nice idea with brunch special.

It's not a steakhouse. I had the NY strip which was over $40 and was not a very good price of meat, thin, and tasteless. Service was good. Nice vibe. I am commenting only on the food.
