Bulldogs Cafe

It's a local favorite I heard... They have a hot plate style lunch bar daily. But other than that it was standard cafe/snack bar food. Most everything was fried, so I had a hard time finding something to order. You order at the counter and then they bring your food, that was nice.I opted for the nachos...they were good old school fare. I got the fajita chicken in mine-it was grilled, so I mostly ate that. I did try the peach cobbler-to die for!Staff...biggest downfall for me. They really didn't have time for me. They needed to finish their conversations first before they could take my order and they definitely weren't cordial by any means. Not one thank you or explanatory phrase.I thought the name came from the local mascot....but ....? I guess if you're one of the few places to eat in a small town, customer service may not be top priority. ‍

My husband and I took our friends here this past weekend and we're amazed with the food! Three of us had the chicken fried steak, and we all enjoyed it. Our friends wife had chicken strips and said they were very good. You order at the counter and they will bring it out to you, shortly. We will definitely come back to Sweeney for lunch, as their food was very fresh and a great atmosphere. They also have a drive through window, and not cheap on their portions.

This place serves the best burger I ever had. An I travel the United States about 300 days a year. An eat out 100% of the time . So when I say they got a HECK of a burger , it's a AWSOME burger..I ordered a double meat cheese burger with grilled jalapeños , it was so much food I couldn't finish it,, it was well over a pound... it is a must visit if in the area....

Best place to eat hands down. They are always busy but their food is worth going. Their prices are very reasonable not expensive at all. It's worth every cent

Good taste good, portion sizes are worth the money, service is friendly, kitchen is a little slow but not to bad, the ambiance is country casual.

Whenever I go to Sweeny to visit my husband while he works at the refinery we stop here and they have some of the fluffiest fried fish I have ever tasted. Their fried shrimp us nothing short of amazing as well. This place is a great place to visit when in the West Columbia/Sweeny area!

Country living, country food! Great food and friendly staff! Steam table lunch daily and the breakfast is awesome.

I love the Bulldog Cafe. I have been to some of the finest restaurants on this planet, but at The Bulldog they know me! They are always happy to see me, and that is better than any flaming sauce.
