Buena Vista Restaurant & Cantina - Philadelphia

OMG!!!! This place is amazing!!!! The food is authentic and the staff is so friendly ... we just happened to come upon this place and took a chance... 100% recommend if you love authentic Mexican ....

Buena Vista offers delicious traditional food in a decorative and fun environment! Our food came quickly and they had a top notch margarita with lots of options. Definitely a local business vibe and located in a family-friendly neighborhood. Portions were large and the staff were friendly! Would definitely recommend for a delicious casual meal and drinks in Philly.

Really liked everything about this place. Food was great (chorizo fajitas and birria tacos), drinks were tasty (margarita glasses were super cool), atmosphere was fun (tvs and decorative Mexican feel), and service was top notch. There are admittedly a lot of Mexican spots I love, but this one still measures up! Will be back.

I have to admit the margaritas are pretty good however be forewarn that if you are getting margaritas during happy hour you are getting Jose Cuervo. If you drink tequila you want a tequila that is 100% blue agave: Jose Cuervo is not. On the spectrum of tequila products, available today, Jose Cuervo is very low on the totem pole. Therefore, if you like better tequila be prepared to pay more for your drink during happy hour. Also you get 1.5 oz of tequila per drink. The restaurant uses homemade lime juice so this is good. You are not getting some sugary drink mix for your margarita. The happy hour food menu is SUPER limited. Just an fyi. The tacos only consist of chicken and ground beef. These tacos are only adorned with onion and cilantro, so if you like cheese and lettuce and sour cream don't expect it at happy hour prices. The tacos were very good. I have not tried other foods on the menu so the happy hour tacos are all I can speak to and only the chicken tacos. There is an other restaurant on 9th & Washington with a more extensive happy hour menu and their margaritas during happy hour offers a 2 oz of tequila and they don't even have Jose Cuervo in the house. Plus you get FREE chips (real corn chips) some refried beans on top and two hot sauces, rojo & verde, to dip into.

I'm from Cali Bay Area and OMG Food was delicious!!! Definitely a must!! You won't be disappointed

Local Mexican bar & restaurant on a quiet side street! Great margaritas and draft specials on happy hour! Plenty of seating at the bar.

Giving them 5 stars for the awesome Margheritas and especially for Oscar, our bartender and host. Who gave us a tutorial on tequilas and suggested Corralejo tequila. We'll he back to try the food. Cool spot. Great tequila menu

Delish food - n of 3 times been so far and every time has been on point. Prices are definitely respectable (except $4 for extra pico) and the servers have always treated us nicely. Definitely recommend for Cantina food in the middle of Philly.
