I've come to Bubby's for many years for breakfast and lunch until my job moved to another section of the City. Now I so miss everything Bubby. I happened to be in the area for a meeting and said I just had to stop and get one of my favorites from Bubby's - the chicken cutlet hoagie. You watch the plentiful cutlets being breaded on the spot before being fried and placed in the hoagie roll with any trimmings and cheese you may want. They also do awesome Philly cheesesteaks, hot sausages, hot dogs, and you name the breakfast sandwich and he can probably make it. They also have the sides like fries or onion rings. Or maybe oatmeal or grits. The homemade lemonade is the bomb. Bubby's is so much better than any Wawa. The place is super small and there's no tables...just enough room for about six to wait standing inside the sliding glass door if it's cold and windy or rainy. You have to be patient as lines sometimes get long, but moves quickly. Prices are very reasonable.CASH ONLY! Boy, do I miss Bubby's. I wish he opened up near me! That homemade chicken cutlet hoagie was superb. Yum!

This place seems very under-reviewed. You can't beat the price for a hot dot in the city. They're a little hole in the wall take out place. For the chili dog, they used brisket meat instead of ground beef and it is delicious. I wish there was more topping but can't really complain because of the price. Their regular hot dogs includes toppings like sauerkraut, relish, onions, fried onions, ketchup and mustard. Wish there was more crunch to the hot dog but it was decent.

I ordered a cheese steak with fried onions and ketchup. I took it to where I was parked on 16th Street and had a trunk picnic. No ants, just lanternflies. I would put this cheesesteak in the popi store category. The meat was a little thicker slice so you had to chew it and taste it. It was a very standard cheesesteak and $7.95 I am not going to hate it.

Nice combo of meat and cheese. Affordable as well. Don't be fooled by location's appearance, they know what they're doing.

The half brisket sandwich is pretty hefty for $6. The chopped brisket pieces were totally soft as buttah. I should have gotten some cheese on it to kick up the flavor, but overall I was really pleased with what Bubby had to offer. Their snappy hot dogs were surprisingly great. And who sells hot dogs for only a dollar anymore? Especially when that dollar includes a big helping of kraut and onions.Good team work, Bubby and Bugsby!

It's a hole in a wall place. Located right next to the dry cleaning place and another deli cafe. Small place, not really anywhere to stand but cheap food that does the job. I come here for breakfast and get the pork roll egg and cheese (only $3.50) and it's a decent amount of food!Service is good and friendly. They're quick too! This is more of in and out place, come in get ur food and get out.

I've been working close to this place for a long time now and have heard good things, so I finally made it out to try the brisket. I ordered a brisket sandwich with provolone cheese and took it to go. There isn't an option to eat in - it is literally a hole in the wall. I returned to the office to try it, and it was tasty. The brisket was a cross between BBQ and Bubby style. Most bubbys I know tend to have a corned beef type of flavor to it, but this was a little different. More celery flavored. I liked it.I did, however, fee incredibly sick afterwards. Something did not agree with me. I don't know if it was the brisket, the cheese, or the combination of the two, but it did not sit well at all. I recommend this place whole-heartedly to those with strong stomachs and intestines. But I don't think I will return, unless armed with some Immodium.

This hole in the wall serves pretty awesome juicy brisket sandwiches. They accept cash only. The corner store next door has an ATM. Prices are very reasonable ($8.75 for brisket and cheese sandwich) considering how much beef you get in the sandwich. I wasn't able to try other things on their menu but I plan to if I'm ever in Philly again!
