I eat here about once a week. I sit at the bar as I'm one of the locals, it's a great place to learn about current events. The food is always great and the local and friendly staff is spot on. Support local and give Brownie-Lu a try. Could very well be the best priced home style food in Chatham County.

About 2 weeks ago, I was looking for a place to eat while driving through this town on business, I found Brownie-Lu's Restaurant. It's a small little hole-in-the-wall place, which reminded me of a Waffle House but with more tables and is right up my ally compared to chain stores.Unfortunately, none of the employees were wearing masks. I asked why, and was told they don't have to. I chose to not eat there, so I can't say how the food was. Too bad. The good news is that I drove about a half mile away and found another local drive-in where they bring the food to your car. They had a fantastic burger basket.

This place is a real throw back! I really didn't know what to expect when I came here, but I just love the name of the place! I was in town on business and needed to stop for a quick (and cheap) bite to eat afterwards. I went to Yelp, read the other review posted and thought I'd take a chance. I'm glad I did! When we drove into the parking lot we were a little skeptical, but the lot was full of cars, so always a good sign! It's a tiny place and every table was taken as was every stool at the counter. It's not fancy - at all, but the food the waitresses were bringing to the tables looked & smelled really good!We only had to wait about five minutes for a table, but in that time they ran out of a couple items. My partner had the chicken salad sandwich ($3.20) and an order of fries ($1.50). She's very particular about chicken salad and rated it as #2 of her all time favorites - wow! I had the 2 piece broasted chicken dinner ($6.50) which came with 2 sides of my choice from a pretty good list of choices. When I ordered they were just starting to make more chicken, but it was a brief wait and well worth it. It was perfectly cooked, crunchy, not greasy at all, and very juicy. The mashed potatoes were sooo homemade and the salad was way bigger than I thought it would be. I ended up taking a piece of chicken home and some of the taters. What I really liked about this place, aside from the food being really good, was the choice on the menu and the super low prices. Where can you get a sandwich for $3.20?? The pimento cheese sandwich is only $2.00! There's a slew of sandwiches in that price range. Now these aren't giant sandwiches like you'd get somewhere and pay 6 or 7 dollars for. These are just made on regular loaf bread, not sub rolls and that's fine. It was still stuffed with chicken salad which you can see in the picture how big the sandwich was.The staff was real friendly and the place is laid back and full of locals just shootin' the breeze. They have a separate take out door and it was busy the whole time we were there. If I didn't live all the way in Durham I'd definitely put this on my list of places to visit once or twice a month.

Local and friendly. Foods decent. Honestly can't beat the prices at the quality. No one should hesitate to stop by and have a nice breakfast or lunch here. Sure the breasted chicken takes a bit to cook, maybe 10 ministers but it's worth it! I would do 5 stars if I could get mashed potatoes all time :). Love to get country fried chicken too :).

This is a very, very good little hole-in-the-wall diner that serves great fried chicken and other country cooking items - well, actually it is broasted chicken, like Hursey's in Burlington, and the late Gordy's in High Point. The chicken is crispy with a thin crust, moist, and tasty. They offer a number of good sides (real mashed potatoes) as well, and serve a huge plate of very well fried fish, on Fridays I believe. They also serve a pretty good southern breakfast.

My husband and I were in Siler City for a couple hours this week. We needed lunch and decided to give Brownie-Lu a try. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. Great staff. We had a BLT, a philly cheese chicken sandwich, fried pickles, and french fries. All excellent. We would eat here again if we find ourselves back in Siler City at lunch time.

The place is a great throwback and hole in the wall type of eatery, food isn't the best nor is it the worst. BUT. The attitude of the servers is HORRIBLE!
