Absolutely awful customer service!!! I was in line to place my order and he stop what he was doing for customer in front of me. He yelled move your car you can't park there!!! I was so embarrassed, I will never return. Now look this a food truck in a parking lot, why does he care ! He was such a hole.

I just ate here a few hours ago with a lovely friend and I have to say that I was impressed by the brisket. We both ordered the quarter pound sandwich. The brisket was both very flavorful and tender. I read some of the other reviews about there being bad customer service and something about the owner treating black people bad. I didn't have that experience. The gentleman was respectful and engaged in conversation when I asked him questions. Me and my friend are both black as well as the gentleman working behind the counter (not sure if he was the owner though). But I thought the signs he has up were hilarious and I felt very safe being there. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu in the near-future.One thing to keep in mind is that, seating is outdoors only so if you're dining in, dress accordingly or take it home.

I love barbecue, especially the brisket! I tried the brisket here and honestly, it was delicious in flavor. It was well seasoned, juicy, and tender. However, it was extremely greasy. I ordered a lean brisket sandwich and the meat was substantially drenched in grease as if it had been soaking in grease for hours. It was also cut uneven like a big block of cheese that had been sliced with a dull knife. I wish I had photos to show proof of my accusations but this was some time ago before I started doing reviews on businesses. I tried to give it another chance and ordered a brisket sandwich at a later date, but it was still the same. The sandwich was drenched and soaked from the greasy brisket. I always get my bbq sauce on the side therefore the sandwich was not soggy from the sauce. The grease made me so sick the first time around but I still tried to give Mr. Brooks a chance. The customer service isn't that great either. They were extremely slow and unprofessional in their approach to the customers. I'm saying, if I want customers to patronize and support my business, I'm going to insure that they are welcomed and greeted with a friendly and happy smile. I don't like paying my good hard earned money in an establishment where the staff is dead and nonchalant in character. However, that's just me. Maybe others like to spend their money for poor quality food and customer service but I don't. I will give you a chance once or twice but that's it. This establishment just doesn't do it for me but to each it's own. My older sister loves the bbq brisket sandwich here, grease and all! So we all have different preferences and I prefer my brisket sliced medium thin, tender, juicy, and flavorful without all the grease. If you decide to give it a try, you should know that there's only outside seating available.

I've tried. I've given it my best shot. And I just don't get it. It's been four separate times that I've given this place a shot and I still don't get it.Now I have to give props for their style of the BBQ here. The best meats are made on a wood burning grill. No propane, just all wood and charcoal. So hats off for that. That said, I have to stop there. When I pull up to a place like this I expect to be totally blown away on flavor. In every bite I want to taste the passion on that grill. Each and everytime I've been here it fail short of passion. In fact, it taste like perhaps there once upon a time was passion, but that passion has fled like a divorced couple from a burning house. Sorry Brooks fans I'm just not impressed. It's a high price for barely mediocre BBQ. Everytime I go there to give it a shot, I leave telling myself to just stick with cooking it myself at home.Is there tenderness in the meat? Yes. It's just lacking in flavor and care. Even the sauce they have doesn't save it.Now maybe it's just me and the impression I got from reading the reviews. See I know how to BBQ. I know what I'm doing on a pit. And I have been blown away before on others BBQ so there is no hateraid coming from me. I'm just being honest. I don't get it here. I simply don't get why so many are so blown away on the BBQ. Based on some of these reviews perhaps I'm in the wrong business and need to go into the BBQ business.Again, hats off to Brooks for staying in the business this long and being able to build a following. But it's not for me.Oh and the service... Not something you want to write home about. It sometimes can be down right rude. And if you are Covid conscience then you may not want to bother even going. They make it very clear on social media and advertising that nobody can dare tell them what to do. Do not expect good customer service there. Just move it along like cattle. Be Nice and Prosper!

My wife and I stopped by Brook's place for lunch. We were not disappointed. The brisket was right on the money, true Texas style BBQ. Perfectly seasoned, smoked to a tender texture. We enjoyed every bite. We had potato salad and beans as sides. The potato salad is tasty and the beans are great. He does serve sauce with the brisket, but it doesn't need it at all. To each his own on that. Mr. Brooks is a no nonsense man and likes to run his business his way. I can respect that, after all I don't have to go if I don't want to. However, I choose to go because he's a 100% legit pit master. I happen to align with his views but that doesn't sway my personal decision to patronize his business. There is a reason he makes it in the Texas Monthly too 50 BBQ joints. It because of his product. Keep up the great work sir, we'll keep coming back as long as you're still making awesome BBQ!

I decided to stop by because it smelled very good. However, the customer service was not good at all. When we arrived he the owner I think was smoking a cigar he did not greet us. I had to tell him that we were ready. If you have your LTC and firearm in a holster you will receive 10percent off. His signs are very clear and concise about sagging pants and revealing clothes you can't order their food. The mac and cheese was runny but it was okay. The ribs were beef ribs and were flavorful. With that being said I will not be returning. For the cost I don't feel like it was worth it plus the customer service.

We use to patronize this business when he first opened but stopped due to the lack of customer service. From the unnecessary and overtly political signage, to the owners "take it or leave it" demeanor - yeah, no I'm good & prefer spending my dollars where appreciated. Giving 2 stars because his sausage is good. Otherwise, lots of great BBQ options off 290 or in Acres Home that are delicious and offer great service.

How Brooks Place BBQ missed Yelp's Top 100 BBQ Joints is beyond comprehention. Trent Brooks has amended his Menu for more tradional Items, such as Nachos, Sandwiches, and other items to supplant the traditional Plates, Sandwiches and By-the-Pound Meats.Trent recently moved from his long-time spot at Ace Hardware in Cypress to The Wildcatter Saloon in Katy, Texas. Thursday-Sunday, 4pm-10pm Come and get it while it lasts . . . The Beef Ribs . . . Oh my Lord! You have a Menu of "Can't miss" items . . . Go see Trent and tell'em Scotty sent you . . .

I came here for a UYE event & it wasn't as good as I expected. I wasn't going to write a review because I didn't come for the 2nd time but since I won't ever go back I figured they'll need some constructive feedback to better themselves. This BBQ truck stand is located by Krogers and a lot of other stores so there's plenty of parking spots. They have some outside seating for you to enjoy your food as well. I decided to order their burger special, that comes with a brisket inside. I also got their Mac and cheese. So I thought my burger was below par. It tasted frozen and it was dry. They only gave me a half slice of brisket and that was dry as well. The only thing that I enjoyed was the sauce & the bacon. Other than that it wasn't worth a 25 dollar burger. It was ridiculous that it didn't even come with a side and you had to order that separately. If I'm making you a 25 dollar burger, I'll make sure that I make my patties in-house & on a brioche bun. The Mac and cheese were meh. It was clumpy & there was an odd color on it as well. It was also smoky which is fine but it had a charcoal taste to it. I honestly didn't even finish it. I was going to order some brisket to go but seeing as how underwhelming my meal was I decided to just skip on that. The owner did come out to greet us along with his flask which I thought was unprofessional. I also smelled alcohol breath when he was speaking well. I understand that it's your place and you can do whatever you want but I think there's a time & place to drink. Overall it was not a good experience so unfortunately this is a one and done.
