Ok, maybe I'm fussy but, this was the worst veal Marsala I've ever had. My family is Italian from NY so maybe I'm not aware of Italian cuisine in this area. We were greeted with a chilly response. We were told all the tables were reserved in an empty restaurant! We were placed at a high top in the bar area which was fairly uncomfortable after traveling for hours. So I ordered the veal Marsala and my husband mirrored my choice. When it arrived the veal wasn't breaded as we are used to but sometimes different areas prepare it differently. Our server, Jocelyn, was quite curt and not terribly welcoming, again we had the frosty feeling. She asked if we wanted bread and of course we wanted bread, the bread provided was a multi grain kind and a French bread, but we were starving as it was 4pm and we both had not eaten all day so.... Ok, veal Marsala was coming!! The food came quickly so we jumped in. The veal was flavorless and seemed like it was cooked on a flat grill and put on the pasta and the sauce put on top. There were mushrooms that were an after thought and barely cooked. The sauce itself tasted like Campbell soup. It was very watery and unusually sweet. I'm not sure what their recipe is but mushrooms cooked with the Marsala give it the depth. We didn't want anymore thank you. I guess that's what you get for getting Italian at a pub in the Boston area. We should have gone for seafood! A note: the bathroom was clean which usuallyIndicates a clean kitchen so I wanted to make note of that. The rest of the pub felt a little depressing with no music just a ball game on the tv in the bar. I'm sure there might be better options on the menu but you are being judged by strangers on what ever item they choose, so each item should be its best. It's a pub, not a restaurant, probably a good place to grab a beer. $60+ for two entrees with no drinks or appetizers.

If you're looking for a good Italian eatery outside of Boston, definitely check this place out!What we ordered:Apps: Beet Salad and Eggplant Involtini. Out of all the places I had eggplant for apps, this was my favorite. The sauce was superb!Entree: I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce - delicious! Cheesy and creamy Portions was very generous, and the meatballs were good!Dessert: Gotta make room for the most important meal of the day - dessert! Haha I ordered the bread pudding and it was A+. It contained slices of apple and cinnamon.Overall from food to service and in between, everything was great. If you're headed here definitely make reservations, it was packed when we got here so it's a good thing I did that. Also fyi seatings/tables are very close together.

Amazing veal parm. Best Italian food no need to go into the North End. Fabulous pasta dishes

We have come here multiple times for breakfast. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy. And the staff there is always so accommodating and friendly.

Brickhouse is the best. I could eat here for every meal! Brunch, dinner, they do it all.

Always on the money!!! Veal Parm, arrochini salads-you can not go wrong. Best wait staff and bartenders Brickhouse is a gem

Everything they do is excellent!!The only negative is it can be quite noisy!Now I'm being told the review is not long enough!! A long review is not required when the food & service are top notch.

Food was great, server was delightful, not loud even though full ( we were not near the bar). Would definitely go again. Never figured out the parking so drive around the block and parked on side street.

Fantastic neighborhood restaurant.Upbeat atmosphere,cozy ambiance,terrific menu,and delicious food.Never disappoints.

Above average chicken Parm...huge portions, although it was overcooked and somewhat dry.Outstanding espresso martini.Cream broule was outstanding Waitress was very pleasant, although she had way to many tables.On the negative side, this place is small, packed and LOUD. If you looking for decent food at a decent price, and have no intentions of conversing with your dining partners, go for it.
