Bredenbeck's Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor

The ice cream at Bredenbeck's is a great reward for walking up the hill that is Germantown Ave in Chestnut Hill. There are many choices. All are creamy and delicious. The bakery has amazing cakes and desserts.

I love it here! The cake and cookies acre always fresh. Very flavorful and you get a nice portion of cake. The service is always great, questions are answered and the line is long but it moves so fast. I was in and out under 10 minutes. They do accept the coupon for a free cupcake from yelp, which I was super excited about. There is no where to sit inside, there are a few seats outside if you choose to hang out for a bit. They also have ice cream which is delicious. Nice spot to hang out with the children, a quick ice cream date or just to pick up some sweets. I also have order whole cakes from here as well and they were just what I ordered and completed on time.

The ice cream is very good, incredibly the staff is even better. Consistently wonderful young people. A testament to the brilliance of whomever hires them. Last time I was there I passed them more money than intended and they quickly noticed the mistake and honestly pointed it out rather than including it with my intended tip; which they could have easily don't without my notice. And I can recount several instances I've witnessed them do just as impressive things. This must sound fake, but it's true!

We selected Bredenbeck's for our wedding cake, and they were a great choice! They handled the entire process very professionally - cake came on time and we got many compliments on the taste! Prior to our wedding, we had a cake tasting where we could try multiple flavors before deciding on our final cake. They also gave us a complimentary cake for our one-year anniversary, which was very kind of them!

I can't believe that I'm just now leaving a review for Bredenbecks. What I loveeee about this spot is that it's both a bakery and an ice cream parlor. So they've got your fix, whatever the craving! The photo shown is from the ice cream parlor and features a double scoop in a waffle cone. Both the sticky bun flavor (bottom scoop) and dark chocolate chip (top scoop) were quality flavors with delicious, distinct tastes. I've also been to their bakery quite a few times. They make so many different kinds of treats. Definitely want to give a nod to them for their variety! They also create some of the most beautiful, creative and innovative cakes for special events. I haven't purchased one myself but just looking at them is a treat honestly! I've tried a variety of their baked goods including the french toast cupcake, the salted caramel tart, the m&m chocolate covered pretzels and I could go on and on. I've liked pretty much everything I've tried. Definitely pay them a visit! It's in the town center of Chestnuthill so there are other shops and restaurants that you can plan to check out too when you visit. The staff at the bakery are friendly and sweet!

Beautifully decorated smash cake for my daughter's first birthday! She loved it! Bredenbeck's is our favorite bakery. Typically we purchase the strawberry shortcake, it is a family favorite. So light and freshly sweet.

Double check the hours since we happily realized that we saw the bakery hours as closed, but the ice cream shop was open. It's a small shop with mighty flavors. I try to do dairy-free or vegan ice cream most times, but I had to try their raspberry truffle flavor. It was even more enjoyable than I imagined with a generous amount of chocolate! There was a bench outside on the side of the shop so we took time to enjoy our cones. The staff mixed up cake and sugar cones but it was a minor mistake. Point to which one you want if needed. We left happy and would come back. I hope to try the bakery next.

Loved our second custom cake we got from Bredenbecks...another chocolate pound cake! This one was a Star Wars Porg cake. Everyone loved it. Thank you Bredenbecks!

We ordered our baby super cake from Bredenbeck's Bakery in Chestnut Hill and they did not disappoint. The whole process was very smooth. We went into the store and spoke to someone and she walked us through the different flavor opens and designs etc. We got a two tiered cake with the top tier being fudge and the bottom vanilla chocolate chip. We send them an email picture of the design we wanted and color swatches. I took 1 star away because you can only get two tiers with pound cake which is more dense than what we prefer. But the cake tasted good! The pound cakes weren't super sweet so with the sweet icing it was a good contract. We tried some of their cookies and cupcakes prior to ordering snd the cupcakes were SO good! The cookies we didn't like because they were very hard. I do want to go back and check out the ice cream shop next door too!

I went to Bredenbeck to order desserts for an event and we were very disappointed in the customer service. The staff couldn' t put a speciality order and nothing could be altered to fit our needs. The overall experience with them was horrible and no knowledge base at all. We won't be going back to the bakery or referring them to family and friends.
