Make sure you have two hours or more when coming to eat here. It is definitely a true European restaurant experience when it comes to wait time for food. We waited for 45 minutes (no exaggeration) for a salad. Three different tables were sat after us, and everybody had already received or finished their meals. Normally this wouldn't be a problem since we ordered multiple bottles of wine, but unfortunately for the majority of the night we were staring at empty glasses. When you have a "fine" dining experience, you should expect to have your glasses filled. Instead I was busy playing waiter and pouring myself/others drinks. Maybe I could get a job here? It's obvious the service was zero stars, but what about the food? Well I hate to disappoint y'all, but it wasn't any better. After an hour and a half, our entrees finally came with the exception of one side. We will come back to that later. Hold please. I ordered a filet mignon with a side of mashed potatoes. They butchered my steak. I ordered it rare, because I like my steak to moo. The steak came out medium, with little to no pink in the center. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all. I should've sent it back, but we were crunched on time. To make matters worse, they didn't even bring my side! The waiter acknowledged the mistake when he first brought our food out, so you would think he would come back with them in a short amount of time. Wrong! After finishing my mediocre filet, I was still waiting for my side. Now let's take a guess. Do you think the mashed potatoes were on my check? If you guessed yes, then you win a prize! I kid, I can't afford to give out prizes. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the short ribs my friends ordered were the best they ever had. My recommendation would be to stay far away from this place as much as possible. Cheers if you have a glass that's full. See what I did there? Hey yo!

Arrived for brunch on a Sunday morning with friends. It was my first time and I wasn't sure about parking. The restaurant is downtown so there is street parking and garages nearby; be prepared to walk a little and pay for parking. Small, intimate restaurant with lots of windows, giving a true French cafe vibe. We even had live music (a man and his guitar) which was so lovely! I ordered coffee (had a few pieces of coffee bean in it that I had to remove), onion soup (a little bland and I would have preferred guyere cheese to the swiss it is served with), salmon crepe (phenomenonal flavors!), and the vanilla bean creme brulee (great flavors, rich). Our waiter was very friendly but struggled a bit with the checks. If I'm im downtown Houston, I would definitely go back, but don't know if I would make the trip if I wasn't in the area.

This was a delightful Houston Restaurant Weeks experience! I stopped by on a Saturday for brunch with a few friends. Fellow Yelper Chris W. had tried this spot before and had rave reviews, so I figured we should check it out.First off, this restaurant is in the heart of Downtown Houston, which means confusing one way roads and parking. I had trouble finding street parking and had to go a bit further away. Parking is probably an issue on weekends especially. We made a reservation in advance and found the restaurant modestly full. The interior is beautifully decorated for a nice brunch with friends, a more romantic setting, or a work meal. Our server quickly greeted us with the HRW menu and had several recommendations which we appreciated. I opted for the burrata as my first course, followed by the duck confit, and the profiteroles for dessert. The burrata was a solidly tasty dish which I quite enjoyed. The salad included a delicious dressing and strawberries which paired together very well. I also sampled my friends' lox and bagels and scargots which were also tasty. The lox in particular was a rather large dish as a first course, with excellent flavors.Next came the duck, which was wonderful. So wonderful, that our whole table opted for it as the main course! The crispiness of the duck was perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed the potatoes. I found the sauce underneath a bit on the salty side, however, overall the dish was a home run for me.Not so much so with the profiteroles, unfortunately. While I enjoyed the pistachio flavor of the ice cream, it melted very quickly with the warm chocolate sauce and became a soupy mixture midway into eating it. I did not finish the dessert. I sampled my friends' crème brûlée which was excellent with a lovely crunchy exterior and creaminess underneath. I would opt for the crème brûlée next time.I would very much like to check this place out again in the future! I would probably carpool though, given the parking situation. All in all, a great HRW experience!

I liked it. I got mussels, and my partner got the steak frites. We were in a rush, and the waiters were accommodating. The portion of mussels was perfect for me, and the steak was pretty big for my partner who eats a lot. Both tasted pretty good. I would get them both again. Prices are fair for a nice French restaurant. The ambiance was nice. It was quiet and peaceful. The service was also great. Everyone was nice and helpful. There is no parking as it is downtown. However, you can do street parking nearby for cheap. 8/10, would go here again.

Brasserie du Parc is an upscale French restaurant in the heart of downtown located directly across from Discovery Green park. I came for dinner here with my mom during Houston Restaurants Week. We both selected options from a set menu. Overall the food was decent but not outstanding. I got the French onion soup to start. The broth was lacking in flavor in my opinion. I prefer the beef broth taste whereas this was lighter in flavor. My mom got the mushroom ravioli which were great. For the main, I had the beef bourguignon which was a bit disappointing. I've had it before and enjoy the meal but this version had an overwhelming sweet flavor. My mom got the coq au vin which was much better. To finish, we got a crepe and creme brûlée. They forgot the bananas in my mom's crepe and the service became slower and slower as the meal went on. I would most likely not go back but the mushroom ravioli was our favorite of the night.

We stopped by here for dinner and we had tasted their HRW menu. It was pretty good. The ambiance is nice but someone it could get loud if there are too many customers. The service was pretty good. The food quality was great. I love the beef bourguignon. I wished they can serve the escargot with the shell. The grill octopus was in perfect shape, not taste to raw and or too hard to chew. I will come back here when I m around this area.

I've been coming here for years and this place is so cute! It's perfect for all occasions, anniversary's, first date, or even just a causal dinner! They have a dining area and a really pretty bar. The food is always so good! I've tried everything and my favorites are the Steak Frites and the Coq Au Vin!! They also have some delicious mixed drinks and the desserts are top tier! And can we just talk about the plating? Seriously it's so pretty I always have to take a picture!!

One of my favorite places near George R Brown convention center. They have live music all the time with a great view of the Discovery Green park. Service is always on point. Try the mussels, they are stellar. Always a good time!

Disappointing. There is nowhere to park, no valet, no garage, we parked blocks away. The place was mostly empty. Servers were pleasant.French onion soup was bland. Bread service was bland and butter was unsalted. Dover Sole was so overcooked it was like rubber. The airline chicken was good. The steak was good. The fries were completely unseasoned. It was our friend's birthday. They asked who it was before everyone arrived. They dropped off a dessert with no explanation or happy birthday at the end of the meal. It felt more like a mistake.A very lackluster birthday dinner for our friend. We don't plan to go back.
