Here on a Boston visit and eating at a Tiki bar. Place was not busy at all.Ordered a Mai Tai and a French Part Punch. Drinks were great. Mai Tai was balanced and strong. Same with the FPP. Had coconut shrimp and is was a good start with the Mango salsa. We split the fish Tacos.Again very good. Service was good. Come try them out as we enjoyed the service.

Finding a tiki bar on the Freedom Trail could've changed American history forever had it existed back in 1776. If Paul Revere stopped by for a Pina Colada, the colonists could've lost the war, and we'd be singing the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" as our national anthem today. Jamie W. found it on the Yelp app when we started to drift after walking through Quincy Market.I guess we were early because no one else was in the bar at 2:30 in the afternoon. Perhaps Bostonians delay their tiki cocktail consumption to the evening after they have their chowdah and fill their muskets. It was a pretty evocative place, but the chilly weather outside prevented us from daydreaming about being at the Hula Bar on Waikiki. We were also a bit surprised that the signature cocktail selection was limited.Jamie was in the mood for the $15 Mai Tai because it was Thomas Jefferson's favorite tiki cocktail selection. OK, I made that up, but it seems reasonable, doesn't it? It's made with Planteray Rum 3 Stars Rum, Worthy Park 109 Dark Rum, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, lime juice, and orgeat syrup. The specialty rums made this a revolutionary concoction. Following Patrick Henry's lead ("Give me liberty or give me death!"), I went with the $16 Painkiller. It consisted of Plantation Original Dark Rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut, a tropically tantalizing classic executed well enough to let Patrick forego liberty for another round (photo: https://yelp.to/o1Dox13tQl). Beyond that, twangy ukulele music might've helped along with a fife and drum. But it was back to the Freedom Trail for us because we have come appreciate living in the land of the free and the home of the tiki idol.COCKTAILS - 4 stars...tiki libations even the colonists loveAMBIANCE - 4 stars...the tropical decor seemed rightSERVICE - 4 stars...she blended the drinks wellTOTAL - 4 stars...Boston tiki, try itRELATED - Exploring Boston? I've never been to Tiki Rock until this past Saturday. However, my most recent experience on Saturday was quite disappointing due to the behavior of the bar manager, Jeremy McCormack.Unfortunately, he was unprofessional and rude, which significantly impacted our experience. We were met with profanity and aggression as we left the venue. All this because he thought we were talking about him which was not true at all. The reason for our visit was a Mexican and margarita bar crawl that Tiki bar chose to participate in and yet chose to treat their patrons unprofessionally. This level of service is not what I expect from a restaurant and would never recommended this to friends and family. I hope the management addresses this behavior, as it reflects poorly on this establishment.I won't be returning unless significant improvements are made in how the staff, particularly management, handle customer service issues.

This place unexpectedly turned into a mini nightclub with open dance floor! The bartender performed a cool fire trick and offered us to try some new drinks. We stayed there until closing! My favorite had to be the coconut shrimps and allllll of the drinks!

I'm a super big foodie so I spend a lot of time researching restaurants before we go to one. We needed something where the kitchen was open late and landed on Tiki Rock. It took them forever to seat us even though the restaurant was almost empty. When we got seated, it was right next to one of the only tables in the restaurant and it was LOUD. The music was blasting, the table next to us were basically yelling at each other. We got headaches within minutes of arriving. We mainly came for the oysters, cocktails and coconut shrimp. We tried to order the shrimp and they were out of it. Then I tried to order the crab Rangoons and were told that they only did those during happy hour. I had to direct the waitress to where it says on the menu that they were on special for the full day, not happy hour. We ordered our drinks and oysters and were trying to figure out our entree. We got our drinks and they were super weak. I don't think they had alcohol in them at all. For the price, it was insulting. We got our oysters and crab Rangoon. The oysters were pretty good but the rangoons were foul. They tasted so bad and fishy and spoiled. With how loud it was, how bad service was and the crab rangoons, we decided to get the check and order pizza back at the air bnb. Would never ever come here again. The next day we went to a tiki restaurant near Harvard and it was PHENOMENAL. Don't waste your time with Tiki Rock.

I was very impressed with my two experiences watching the Celtics playoff games there. The service was friendly and attentive. I really appreciated that they took reservations on those evenings too. My favorite of the dishes we ordered was the fish tacos. It's a big plate so worth sharing if you are not starving. The coconut shrimp and Korean fried chicken wings were my other favorite menu items. The cocktails are strong and well made so definitely a good spot if you are just wanting drinks. I will definitely be back.

What an adorable tiki bar! We were walking by on a Monday night and noticed the $1 ouster sign outside, we figured this was going to be a really good night or a really bad night. Luckily, it was a great night! We order two dozen oysters which were phenomenal! I wish I had another stomach so I could have had more. We also orders the fish tacos. I didn't love the tortillas, and the sauce was okay, but the fish was light and well cooked, not sure if I'd order them again, I probably should have just ordered another dozen oysters! My husband and I shared a pineapple drink for two. I loved it, but it was a little too sweet for him. So Norte for me! It was yummy! I was surprised this place was so empty, it's a shame. The tiki decor is kitschy and cute, the bartender/waitress was great, and the food and drink were awesome! It's a hidden gem. I would love to visit when we're in Boston again!

My husband and I love Tiki bars, so we were so excited when we saw this was near our Airbnb. That excitement didn't last long though...We showed up for dinner and were quickly seated. They had a live DJ, so it was super loud inside, even with minimal patrons. We ordered food and our waitress had us repeat what we wanted since it was hard to hear. 1 app and 2 mains. Over 35 minutes later, without one check in from our server & one drink finished, our food was finally brought out all together but my order was wrong. She apologized and left to put in my correct order. Another 20 mins go by with no check in, no water refill, no update on food, or ask if we wanted more to drink. Finally they bring my order, which I asked to go because it was getting late. After another 10 mins, I asked another server for our check. Finally our original server, who only came by once after taking our order over an hour prior, was finally ready for us to pay. Empty water glasses in site, she said nothing of the wait or lack of service. Overall, super disappointed in the service and experience there. As far as food, the gyoza was very soggy and drenched in oil. The salmon poke was good & my husband enjoyed his beef picante and Passionately drink.

The harsh reality of this place is that it isn't really a tiki bar. It's about as watered down of a tiki experience as it gets. That being said. It is a lively place and the drinks are heavy with the alcohol. Bottom line, if you are an actual fan of tiki culture this place isn't for you.
