We decided to stop and try their clam chowder and oysters, have a glass of wine and people watch a bit during our recent Boston visit. People watching was on point as well as the oysters. Oysters were clean, briny and super yummy. Clam chowder was really thick and clam "bits" tasted old. I will definitely be back for more oysters, wine and some great people watching.

Very nice vibe. Oysters were pretty good and clams were also. Definite comeback for the service

This place is a tourist trap. I made the mistake of stopping in here because I was new to Boston and hungry. First off it's not a bad place. The service was great and seating was outdoors and somewhat clean. We got some oysters and they were okay. I love oysters and I've had them up the coast and all over the world. These were really mid. I didn't know oyster could be this way. Maybe it's me and my expectations but I felt they could have been better. They looked good, but I feel disappointed by having these. I also tried the lobster roll. It was good but not for the bill he had to pay. If you are in Quincy Market area and hungry just be forewarned. There are so many options to choose from in this market.

Outside joint so expect some bugs. The atmosphere was great though. It's in the middle of Faneuil Hall so lots of people. They were very busy but the wait was not long. About 15-20 minutes. We got the Fishermen's platter and some Native Oysters. We enjoyed them all. Def recommend. Fishermen's platter is definitely a "one man" show. Don't let them tell you it's a huge portion cuz it ain't. Food was good, it's hard to mess up fried seafood IMHO. They did the job. Not sure I would return but maybe under the right circumstances. I would recommend mostly because of the atmosphere.

The drinks & apps were very good! The service was friendly, but a bit slow due to being busy. The location is awesome. When we went, the inside was closed so the only tables available were on the patio, which was a bit toasty for the day. We made the best of it by moving our chairs under the umbrella.

This location is a tourist trap since it is right in the middle of the city square. Great views for people-watching and enjoying the downtown vibe. Their service is attentive and nice, with no issues with that. The chairs are not the most comfortable because they are wrought iron on cobblestone, but that is okay also. My issue is with the sides. They charge a lot for a lobster roll, and it's good, but it is overpriced considering they do not serve in a hoagie-style roll. The sides, i.e. fries, were lukewarm and unsalted when we got them. My friend enjoyed her fried shrimp, and she said those were very tasty but the same thing as I stated about her fries. Neither of us cared for the coleslaw. Lastly, my friend went to the bathroom, and she said it was incredibly small and not clean. Her words were that it was a terrible experience. I was not going to check it out after she gave me her perspective, so go at your own risk.

Based on our experience, I have to give the Salty Dog five stars. We had a few hours to take in Boston and after taking a tour and getting some shopping in, we happened to be walking by the Salty Dog looked like a great place to take a break and have a drink and afternoon snack. We were greeted by a very nice young lady and seated outside right away. I think they mentioned that only outdoor seating was open because the weather was so nice.I ordered the patriots punch and my husband had a beer. My drink was beautiful, fun, and delicious! A perfect drink for people watching in a busy tourist area. The calamari was very well done, crispy and light on the outside and tender inside. We both enjoyed it thoroughly. If you're walking through Boston and looking for a nice place to snack and people watch, stop by the Salty Dog!

The service was good, very friendly. The bathrooms were so tiny and a complete disaster. The quality of food did not measure up to the price.

It was a beautiful day out so nice to have a meal outside, except there where bees everywhere. The waitress just brushed it off saying well it gets sticky out here, and eventually moved our table. I was looking forward to having a lobster roll that sounded good on the menu. It had no flavor at all. It was cold unflavored lobster an a dry crispy roll. It was edible but nothing great and not worth the price at all. I also found a shell in my sandwich which wasn't appetizing. There are better options out there.

Well to start, Faneuil/Quincy Hall was packed. We decided to eat here because of the location. I saw only 3 stars on Yelp, so my expectations were low. We were greeted with a nice girl, outdoor seating only. We started with a cold beverage, salty dog draft, came nice and cold. We had a cup of chowder. It was okay but not very hot. The lobster "roll came with slaw and fries. The bottom of the hamburger bun was so wet, I could squeeze excess water from it. I just ate the lobster from the bun. The bill came and they charged $37 for this pitiful roll. The fries were the best on the plate. I would Not recommend this place ! Go to Boston sail for the best chowder and roll. Don't waste your money. BTW, the "nice waitress " was rushed and impersonal.
