Huge restaurant and bar with dark downstairs and outdoor seating. The poutine, which they call Harvard Square fries were excellent! Loved the pork shoulder And pasta dishes worked well. Service was slow. PeopleWatching helped the time go by.

Updating my earlier review (while keeping my 5 star rating) because I just stopped by Russell House Tavern for a quick dinner and tried the Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder, which was hands down delicious! I enjoyed this entree so much I felt compelled to write a review of it. This dish came with Cheddar Grits, Pepper Jelly, and Pork Braised Collard Greens in a sweet tangy sauce, a decadent southern inspired meal. I highly recommend ordering the Pork Shoulder if you come here.I sat at the bar and even though it was a busy Friday night, the service was excellent. The bartender was friendly, my food came quickly and I enjoyed the cheerful cosmopolitan vibe.Russell House Tavern remains a solid choice for dining in Harvard Square whether you want a bite to eat on your own or a night out with friends. It's pretty loud, so I wouldn't suggest going here for a first date.My server said they recently added this to their menu and I highly recommend it.

All of it! A must try if you are in the area. We stopped for an impromptu lunch during a recent trip to Boston. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts, squash soup and two salads. My Little Leaf salad was actually much larger than I anticipated. Very simple array of Bibb greens, marinated tiny little onions, and radish. The dressing was a very light perfect white balsamic. My soup was probably the best squash soup I have ever had! It was topped with a dollop of sour cream, pumpkin seeds and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. What a combination!! Perfect! Michelin grade in my opinion! Keep up the great work Chef!

We ate atThe bar and it was great. The brunch was delicious: the eggs Benedict was excellent and the bar tender was so attentive and pleasant. The tables were pretty close together but the bar felt roomy and spacious. We would come here again.0

Great atmosphere and the food is tasty for a good price - esp in the Square. Definitely recommend the burger, it was great!

Busy, lively pub-like ambience if that's your vibe! We got seated promptly upon arrival and service was great. Tried the housemade papardelle which came in a generous portion but a bit too greasy for my personal liking so I couldn't finish it. My dining companions enjoyed their burger and salads though. Overall it's a casual spot that offers decent food options if you're looking for a chill night with friends.

We were just walking around and saw the food outside here and decided to pop in! So glad we did!!!!! Burgers are fantastic as well as the pizza! Our waiter was so nice , I wish I could remember his name... tall & wore glasses. Just such a nice gentleman. We will be back here definitely!

The wings! So so good. The cold lobster appetizer was hearty for the price. The outdoor area is cute. It rained so I moved to the bar and the inside is also very cute. I was visiting Harvard Square and glad I stopped in. Service was quick and friendly.

Went for a Sunday brunch recently and the experience was just alright. The stand out was their chicken wings they had a great sweet flavor and were cooked well, not dry. We also had a breakfast pizza, brussels house pizza, shakshuka, and tavern breakfast. I think everything was just alright. They also forgot the english muffin on the tavern breakfast and took an extremely long time to receive our food, restaurant was no where near busy so I would be concerned on a busier night. The decor and atmosphere is nice though. Don't think I would return unless for the wings.

Food was DELISH! everyone from the hosts to the servers were very friendly :) overall my party had a great experience and we plan on returning! (Highly recommend the bolognese if you're a pasta lover)
