This is the place for authentic spicy Sichuan food. Get your name on the waitlist early because there are no reservations. The wait is definitely worth it and the restaurant is nicely decorated Peach resin rice ball - subtly sweet and refreshing Swing pork- cucumber pairs well with porkHouse chicken. - savory numbing spicySesame balls - sweet and pairs well with the rice wine soupClay pot beef with potato - not spicy a little too salty for my taste but the potatos are delicious Mao Xue Wang - drowning in chili spices and super numbing and delicious. They can't adjust the spice on this one Pickled pepper frog - the frog pieces are cut a little too small and there are a ton of bone shards

Came here for dinner on a Saturday and we put our names on the waitlist before getting seated. We ended up waiting ~40 minutes, but it honestly was worth it!The ambiance felt super cool, definitely going for the temple vibe with the decor. The service was okay, slow on water refills but the food came out quickly and orders were taken fast as well. We settled on 4 shared dishes for 3 of us and we left feeling pretty full so it was a good quantity of food. The tofu was my favorite, but everything was super solid. The soup was mumuch spicier than expected so just a heads up - noodles and chicken were both solid as well.Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would be happy to come back to try more in the future. I would just keep in mind to get at least one non-spicy dish just for some variety. Regardless, thanks Mountain House!

Authentic Sichuan food, a beautiful interior, and amazing service -- what's not to love? This is probably the best Chinese food I've had in Boston and every item I've gotten has managed to impress me and all the friends I've brought here. Favorites include the kung pao chicken, cold spicy okra, and the lotus root dish. The complementary tea is also great and they keep it warm throughout the meal with a mini heater! Prices are on the higher end but the quality makes it more than worth it. I can't wait to come back!

If you are looking for an authentic Szechuan style dishes and zen/ gorgeous interior restaurant, this one is for you. This place doesn't accept reservations, so you should try this place in non busy hours, or put your names down and walk around the neighborhood. I was surprised of how beautifully this place is. It reminds me of the ancient China. The food is not only spicy but will numb your mouth as you eat, so if you are not familiar with the numbly sensation, I m suggest steering away from the word Szechuan on the menu. You will order everything on your phone, so you will save time to ask for the server every time you want more dishes. Tea is free, but the side pickle will have additional charge if you order the second one

NYC friends recommended this place to me, and the Boston location for some reason is WAY easier to get into. I was able to get an early but reasonable dinner reservation same-day for a 6 top, midweek - perhaps because it's not clear from their website that they take phone reservations at all.Food-wise, lots (though not all) of Sichuan classics plus some stuff I didn't recognize but was still delicious. Mapo tofu is the most numbing thing I've eaten in my life outside of Chengdu. Go here if you love Sichuan food and order pretty much anything unless it belongs on a takeout menu (some dining partners ordered the Kung Pao chicken, it wasn't my favorite rendition as someone who prefers authentic Chinese food and has had the rare beast of authentic Kung Pao in the past).

Such a beautiful restaurant, it would be a perfect place to take someone if you wanted to impress them with a fancy interior and phenomenal service. We ordered a large amount of dishes and ultimately couldn't finish all (it was split between two people). The bill came out to around 100 dollars but we had a huge amount of leftover food so your bill might end up less. The viral hanging pork dish was really good, better than I thought it would be. The corn dish seemed interesting and we were skeptical at first but it turned out to be delicious as well. The roast pork and fuqifeipian were decently yummy, but not as mindblowing as the other two dishes. However, all portions were plentiful and I got more meat in this fuqifeipian dish than any other restaurant before. Overall, would come back again, especially if I were bringing my family. This restaurant does a great job at staying true to Chinese food and does not attempt to Westernize any traditional dishes.

This place is outstanding!!!! Everything is cooked to perfection and the quality of their ingredients is at another level. We had the sweet and sour pork, the dumplings, fried rice with greens and the beef ribs. We also got the chicken with peppers it was good but not great. Everything was over the top good. Will be back soon.

We've been back thrice now, and are thrilled about it. Fresh and clean, nuanced flavors across many well executed dishes. Our favorites have been the ma la beef (a soup with very tender, sort of slippery sous vide like beef), tender beef tongue, fatty delicate beef rib / bao, poached chicken, braised pork belly, and osmanthus tangyuan (in a delicate osmanthus / fermented rice broth). But that's a lot of dishes and I really don't think you can go wrong.A couple things to keep in mind: 1) you order fully online so you don't always have a dedicated server, and you may have to wave someone down to check on something (but service is super friendly so it's all good!), and 2) dishes can come out at somewhat different times. So just keep that in mind and you're all set.
