Whenever I try fried chicken places, I get really excited. Fried chicken is one of my favorite things to eat in any form - tenders, breasts, thighs, legs, sandwiches, whatever! We had heard about this place from my coworker, and my husband also works in the area, so we decided to finally try it. Our waitress was wonderful - attentive, super nice, and kept the refills fresh on our sodas. The food, however... lacking. Neither of our sandwiches were hot, which meant they weren't freshly fried. The crispiness was mediocre. Not soggy, but not ultra crisp either. The biggest issue? Mine was STALE. My husband's wasn't, so he was the lucky one. I decided not to complain to our waitress because she was so wonderful; I didn't want to put a damper on her day. (Usually I say something in these situations but got really got to me that afternoon).I wouldn't bother trying Lily's again, because there are much better places to get good fried chicken.

short and sweet of it. make sure the bartenders make your drink in front of you! you have been warned. won't be going back.Encouraged to add more. If you have a drink and its salty. Don't drink it. Management drank beers while walking around and working. When I confronted them about issues. They told me I was wrong. Again, I encourage you to watch every drink you order being made.

Having lived in the neighborhood for a while, I finally decided to try Lily P's today. It was a gorgous and unusually warm day, so I opted to sit outside. I ordered the sweet tea (after asking their waitress how their sweet tea was) and--I usually wouldn't do this--actually sent it back and swapped it for a strawberry lemonade. The issue isn't just that it wasn't close to what I would call sweet tea, but rather than it just wasn't good tea in general. The flavor was strange, even compared to regular unsweet tea. The strawberry lemonade was a significant improvement, though. I did enjoy the buttermilk biscuits, which came with this delicious butter that I would buy on its own to keep in my fridge. The biscuits were light and flake but also had a crisp enough top. I'm here for it. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich, on the other hand...err, it was a far cry from hot (to say nothing of Nashville hot) but overall was soggy. As in, the chicken itself was wet and the sauce was soaking through the bun, but not in the good way. It wasn't a bad sandwich, and the arugula was quite fresh, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this. Shout out to Ashley O, who was a very friendly server the whole way through. She offered to move me to an indoor table when the wind began to pick up and was kind & conversational. On the whole, returning to Lily P's is likely a no for Willie R. But the biscuits are good, though!

The service was ok. The food was not good at all. I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwhich and fries along with a mocktail. The chicken itself was well cooked and juicy. But the breading was old and tasted funny and weird. I couldn't finish it due to that. The fries were mediocre. Not seasoned well but cooked ok. The mocktail was not great but that could be just due to difference in taste. It was also overpriced. I will not be coming back.

Not a great experience here. We came for the music which was top notch and very fun. The space is not designed well for the amount of people wanting to watch music, with most being standing room awkwardly around the bar area. We tried to reserve a table ahead only to find out upon arrival they don't seat the bar area (the one place needing reservations). Didn't get food because our drinks were not very good, decided to head down the road to another spot for dinner

Good selection of feel-good food! I had to try the chicken and waffles here, and they were pretty yummy. You do get two giant pieces of bone-in chicken in this dish so you'll likely have to take some home with you. The chicken was moist and crispy on the outside, and it was a pretty satisfying meal. Their ribs were also great and the perfect size for sharing. Service wise, we come here for lunch and have always encountered very slow service. It takes a while to order, then the food often takes 30min or longer to come out, which was longer than expected considering almost no one else was there.

Came here on Bluegrass Tuesday and sat where there was a group of people jamming. It was really fun and relaxing to see them having a fun time. The ambience is very nice and this area of the city is getting much nicer. Service is a little slow after we ordered appetizers and drinks. I had really high hopes for the fried chicken, but it lacked flavor and was cooked well. The Nashville Hot should have had more of a kick. The fries were great, overall the sandwich is just average.

Since moving to Boston, I've been looking for a place with a solid chicken sandwich. I had heard a few people mention Lily P's, so I knew I had to give it a try! They're known for their chicken. They have a phenomenal menu with chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fried chicken plates, half and whole birds, chicken and waffles, wings, burgers, salads, and a phenomenal selection of appetizers and sides. They are lacking a bit in the dessert department. I'd love to see a few more options available! I decided to order the "Lower Broadway"chicken sandwich. Nashville Hot Style Chicken, Pickles, Mayo, & Southern Slaw. The bun was soft and delicious, holding up well to everything piled on it! I didn't have any issues with a soggy bun. The Nashville Hot Chicken was crispy, hot, and juicy. It was cooked perfectly. My only recommendation is to offer different "Heat" levels. For me, it was perfect- not overly spicy. However, sometimes I like to kick it up a notch or two. The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. The pickles and slaw were tangy and fresh. The Mayo and the slaw certainly kick the sandwich up to another level! The sandwich has so much flavor! As I said, I would love to be able to order a step up, heat wise! I do wish I had ordered one of their wonderful sides! They have house made chips, hand-cut fries, potato salad, Slaw n Pickles, Brussels Sprouts, and Grilled Broccoli. I wish they offered a SMALL side with the sandwiches!I plan on trying the "House Chips" and the "Hand-Cut Ranch Fries"! I also am very eager to try their buttermilk biscuits and Mini Cornbread Muffins! I also can't wait to try the "Timmy Tenders". They're absolutely HUGE and they have three different "flavor" options: Nashville Hot, Black Pepper Honey, or Original. The nice part is you can do one of each! If you're looking for a solid Chicken sandwich in Boston/Cambridge, you've got to try Lily P's! I do wish the portions were a tad bit larger and included a SMALL side. I look forward to coming back over and over again! It's hard to find a solid chicken sandwich! All the flavors went together perfectly! Juicy, hot, and crispy. That is the key to a solid chicken sandwich in my book!

I got a chicken sandwich that was delicious, as well as the fries. The side of mac and cheese we got was very good. Our service was fine as it was a weekday and not that busy as well as the drinks were made great! I liked the inside it's a very cute restaurant and quite large inside.

I was on a work trip & stopped in here for dinner. There was a band playing in the back & a jam session in the front. My colleague & I sat at a table in the front near the jam session & it was worth it to be at a small table against a wall. The food was so good & the music was incredibly delightful. I had the chicken & waffles - AMAZING. We shared the cornbread muffins which were good. They were a little dry & different than what I am used to. It could just be the way it's prepared in MA.My colleague had the chicken salad & she said it was really tasty. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures. I was too busy enjoying my dinner, company & the music.Overall, this place was amazing & the staff was quite friendly. I will definitely return here on my next work trip.
