10 out of 10! Would recommend! Go visit Lem!My friends and I stumbled onto Hook + Line the other evening after a different restaurant was closed for a private party. It was one of the best alternatives that we found. The restaurant had an outdoor patio area as well as indoor seating and bar areas. The aesthetics were very cute very light and very welcoming. We chose to sit at the bar in. It must have been our good karma because we had the opportunity to be served by Lem! Lem was such welcoming and hospitable bartender/server. He had knowledge about all the drinks we asked for as well as all the food and made great suggestions. To drink, we tasted the FR 75, rosé sangria, and a tequila and tonic. All drinks were delicious! For food we started with shrimp, cocktails, and my friends had the Plymouth and Wellfleet oysters, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We moved onto some shareable items which were the Caesar salads, lobster campanelle, and crab dip.The Caesar salads were fresh and light with not too much or too little dressing. It was a good size that was shareable for two people. THE CRAB DIP!!! OMGGGG! It was one of the best crabs I've had in my entire life. This crab dip was not like others or any other dip that typically has a lot of cheese, cream, and then specs of me. This dip was full on meat with nothing else. The bread looked like crostini, but it was very soft and to die for with the dip! GET THIS! The squid ink lobster campanelle also was delicious with a light red sauce and included large chunks of lobster. I would get this when I return. I am a huge seafood eater and I'm not even joking when I say this, but Hook + Line just got added to my go to places. We enjoyed their company so much that we left to do salsa dancing, and returned for dessert, pictured! The vibes were good and the dessert was tasty as well!

The service was very good. The food was fair at best and way overpriced. I eat most of these items weekly on the South Shore or the Cape. The thing that blew my mind was the price for the Belly Clams - $56.00 that is absurd!!The stuffies which I call quahogs were small, tasteless and overcooked.Everything else was fair.I can name 15 places south of Boston that are half the price and much better to go to.

Stumbled into this spot after walking around the waterfront and what a stumble it was! We were hoping for fresh seafood and that's exactly what we got!Started with the spicy brown butter crab dip with kimchi and gouda because we thought it sounded unique and different. It did NOT disappoint and may have honestly been one of the best bites of food I have ever had! Such a dynamic and different flavor, if you go here, it is a MUST try. For entrees I got the tuna steak, my colleague got the Branzino and we shared the broccolini. All three items were delicious, fresh and packed with flavor! Don't be like us and just stumble in, seek this restaurant out! You will not be disappointed.

Nice bit generic space inside ... lots of outdoor seating, marred by scattered concise service and high prices ..... decent but structurally challenged (eg messy) fish sandwich because the lobster roll was $65 (!) they say that's for two but I assume it's two mini lobster rolls. Chowder was ok 4 outta 5.Overall to pricey to have so many service glitches

Loved this place. Great location, interior design, service, and food. Came here for lunch and got immediately seated. The menu is mainly focused on seafood but there are some alternatives. We ordered lobster rolls and they tasted great (you can choose hot or cold) - very fresh and decent portion. The chips that came as a side were amazing - thin, crunchy, not overly salty. The meal also came with slaw which I really liked, too.All in all, it was a positive experience although the place is quite pricey (I'm sure you can find less expensive lobster rolls in the area). Definitely worth trying though.

This is a good look. Ambience was on point. The food was good and the service was pleasant, but I'd say the entrees are very pricey for what you get. We ordered the scallops plate (the large) to share. We were still hungry. So we got the fish and chips as an add on and ordered 6 shrimp from the raw bar. Still hungry. But that bank account wasn't allowing anymore orders! See for yourself the portions.

We attended a Famille Perrin wine/food pairing dinner. Everything was prepared perfectly and the staff was Excellent! I don't eat pork and mentioned it to one of the waitstaff who was circulating with a pork based appetiser. No big deal... but the follow thru was incredible, while most of the menu was not pork based the few item that had pork included {gelatin}, were taken care of without me even asking!Though we didn't order off of the menu, the level of service and food preparation was amazing.A rare 5 stars.

We dined at Hook + Line on a Saturday evening at 7:30. The place was empty and it was a beautiful sunny busy Boston weekend. The service was okay, but a few missteps. Waited 15 minutes for a drink not a fancy one or speciality, and had to ask 2x. It was also not very full to a noticed eye. We asked for bread ((not on the menu) figured it was complimentary- no they charged us $6!Extremely disappointed when I finally decided to order the 1/2 lobster and he told me 'oh, we just sold out of that' ... he said it so fast that it didn't seem genuine. When the alternate Branzino came out, it still contained quite a few bones. The Cod Cheeks and Burrata were good, but what's with not tearing the romaine leaves on the mediocre Caesar Salad? And to not come back and offer fresh ground pepper for Caesar is a culinary sin!We ordered street corn and never got it, but ofc we got billed.Too many issues for what should've been a 4.5 * rating and a lot of $!!! Minus the street corn and bread refund!
