"My coworker recommended this restaurant as it had good reviews and was conveniently located to meet up with another coworker from our company. It's located next to a child care school in a weird intersection on Bow St in Somerville. There's paid street parking around the area but may be difficult to find especially during lunch and dinner rushes. My group and I ordered steamed Chicken Mo Mo and the Beef Chilli to share. The chicken mo mo was soooo good. Unliked Chinese XLB, there was a lot of spices and flavors in the mo mo. Delicious! The beef chilli was also really good but also incredibly spicy LOL. Tons of different spices marinated with the beef, bringing out a flavor blast in my mouth. I wanted to keep eating but the spiciness kept killing me. I ordered the lunch special Chicken Tikka Masala. It came out in a plastic take out container (all the other foods were like that too) and there was only a small portion of the tikka masala which threw me off. BUT the portion didn't matter as there was a lot of meat and the curry, omg. Very thick and sooo full of flavor. I've never had tikka masala that was this thick! Delicious! A hidden hole-in-the-wall gem that deserves a little more credit. The quality and the flavor profile of the foods were really good! Definitely would love to come back in the future."

They have an extensive menu, with many options, which can be a bit daunting. As I reviewed the menu, I thought to myself, how do you offer something a bit different (i.e. authentic) and make it accessible (not overwhelming/intimidating) to casual diners. No answers... just ponderings.I couldn't tell you the names of what we ordered, but everything was fresh, unique, and exploding with flavor. The staff was young and generally good. Prices were quite fair. If you enjoying Napalese, or are looking for something different, I'd heartily recommend giving this place a try!"
"I have been itching to try momos and today, we decided to make the trip to Somerville to try! **There's plenty of meter parking outside on the street. The inside of Tasty Mo:Mo is super clean and they had the air conditioning blasting, which was great since it was an extremely hot week but it got unbearably cold while we were waiting for our food. We decided to try the Kothey (pan-fried) pork momo & chicken chili. Both dishes tasted fresh and it was a pleasant experience. This is more of a take out spot than a sit down dine in, I would say. The Kothey pork momo had good flavor and the dipping sauces they give, did not overpower the momos. The chicken chili reminded me of General Tso's chicken. It was yummy and had good flavor but not what I expected for the flavor profile. They used chicken breasts for this dish. It had a nice kick to it but not so spicy that it made my nose run haha. This was my first time trying Nepalese cuisine and I would come here again !"
"I was a fan of Saffron and ate there frequently when I was in the area. I'm glad to see this reboot, with its modified menu, which I think was exactly the right thing to do. The food is just as good, if not better. There are several new dishes, and oh those momos. The flavors are excellent, the spice levels are appropriate for your request, and everything tastes very fresh. I'm also a fan of the new Tree House across the street, which allows you to bring in your own food from nearby restaurants. A beer at Tree House paired with a meal from Taste of the Himalayas is, for me, a wonderful combination."
"Great to have a Momo place in the neighborhood.Ambiance: Decent, sitting, tables, decor, etc. However, place seems a bit small. That being said I got a table right away, went around 6:15 PM.Service: No complaints here, the staff are friendly, and they did allow me to do a half and half on the types of momo, which let me try two types.Food: I got medium level spice, so wasn't too spicy, but also intentional because wanted to see how flavors were. The flavors in the momo were great. I ordered Chicken Tandoori Momo and the Chicken Hariwali Momo Masala. I preferred the Hariwali. They give 10 in one order, took the rest home, so would recommend splitting the order if with someone.Laccha Paratha was good. GREAT chicken curry, the blend of spices, bell pepper, onion reminded me a a bit of Kanda Bateta Nu Shak. My next item to try will likely be the Eggplant Bhartha, there menu seems to have a lot of variety."
"Had a day off, was craving an Indian buffet. I haven't been to an Indian buffet since the place near Berklee was closed down after the Great Recession. Searched high and low on the internet for Indian buffet in the city of Boston. I couldn't find one, other than Cambridge. I wasn't in the mood to deal with Cambridge traffic in September or anytime really.A result from Reddit, people searching for Indian buffets, a whole post for people like me. Someone mentioned House of Tandoor in Newton. SOLD!I parked for 1 dollar in the municipal lot around the corner and went in. I was surprised it was so quiet! But the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I'm on a weight loss drug so I only ate one plate and half the naan, and it was so delicious. The naan was super hot and made for the table. I got only veggie items. It was all soooo good. I'll be coming here again for sure. So delicious! Indian lunch buffet is life, am I right or am I right?"
"Absolutely delicious food.I came here for a Yelp Elite event and got to try the kashmiri tikki, vegetable samosa, shaag paneer, butter chicken, vegetable rice, and butter naan. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I did have a Rupee beer with my meal. I don't personally like beer, but wanted to try it anyway. I did notice it was much more tolerable than other brands of beer I have had, The service was super friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and organized."
"My friends were pretty full from prior meals so we split an order of steamed shrimp momos (order of 8) between three of us and two mango lassi's. With the momos were two dipping sauces with one specifically labelled as hot. Dumplings were juicy inside with a thin skin outside. The unlabelled sauce was tomato and cream based while the hot sauce was exactly that, HOT. Mango lassi's were rich and creamy made with more mango puree than what I am used to. Overall, we had a good experience! Bathrooms were clean and staff was patient while we decided on our order. Food was tasty enough and prices were fair. Would come again!"
"We visited with friends who live in the area and they recommended this place. It's located in the heart of Norwood center so close to other little shops, spas and restaurants in the area. We tried various pakoras, samosas, momos, naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, vegetable briyani, and every dish was memorable and delicious, with the food coming out piping hot and promptly. The service was great and seems like a really nice family run restaurant. The restaurant resides in a large building with a blue awning so it is easily visible from the road, with on street (or side street) parking nearby. We had a great time and can't wait to come back here and try other dishes."

My partner and I visited here on a Friday night and were surprised to find the restaurant very empty - it has a beautiful interior and is absolutely perfect for a date night or cozy spot to hang out with friends. Our server greeted us and brought us the menus, which were huge and varied. We ordered the buffalo chilli, chicken samay baji, and pork jhol momos, which all arrived at the same time and are meant to be shared with the table. Our favorite was the chilli - the sauce was super flavorful and perfectly spicy, without being overpowering (we ordered the medium spice level). My only complaint is that I wish it got served with rice, but since we ordered other dishes, it really ended up not being a problem. The samay baji was also very flavorful and gave us a good taste of lots of different sides. The puffed rice was a good vehicle for the sauces/chutneys in this dish. The momos were also very delicious, and I loved the flavorful sauce they were served in. We ended up also trying the chocolate dessert dumpling, which had a super interesting rich and spiced chocolate flavor, but was the perfect dish to wrap our night up with. Overall, I really enjoyed our experience here and was impressed with how attentive the servers were during the entire meal. I'd highly recommend checking this restaurant out for a unique dining experience!

Really love the portion size and the flavor here! Have picky eaters in the family but everyone loved the food.Vegetable Curry was delicious! So flavorful and so perfect with the rice. No complaints at all!Steamed Chicken Momos - really big and good. We got eight in the one order and they were all really large as well. Definitely very filling. Not a fan of the sauce on the side but the momos didn't really need them.Goat Curry - amazing! Mutton was very tender and so perfectly cooked! Meat pretty much fell off the bone. So good. Large amount of pieces too (and good ones. Not just bones)Chicken Curry - also very good! Lot lot lot of chicken, and lot of flavor. Not too expensive and worth the price!

I was really excited to try this place out when I saw the menu. I liked that they had a range of cuisine types. Indian is great, but it was interesting trying out some Himalayan dishes too! I found the Lukshya ko Momos to be tasty, but nothing especially exciting. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very standard and the Lamb Tarkari had a nice flavor. The restaurant is very bright and colorful, but not especially upscale. It's a good place to grab a bite, maybe with friends or family. I would prefer to visit this type of spot on a weeknight, since it's on the more casual side. The service was solid and our waiter was happy to answer questions about the menu. I wouldn't come out of my way to visit again, but no complaints!

WOW! What a treat to welcome Himalayan food to JP. And such incredible food it is. Make sure you try not just the classic Indian dishes like tikka masala and palak paneer, but the momos from the end of the menu. I haven't had Himalayan food before and really enjoy the combination of spices. A+ for allergy safety, lots of options for people with nut or wheat allergies, and a big vegan menu!Momo does a lot of take out business and they're fast and reliable. Eating in is also very pleasant with a bright sunny space and extremely good waitstaff. I enjoyed the music and the ambiance in general. There aren't many tables, so on busier nights you might need a reservation. There is one big table in a separate area that would be nice for a group of 8-10. The best part of eating in was eating the food right out of the oven- the garlic naan smelled so good and tasted crispy and delicious. I love this restaurant and I'm so glad they opened!

Excellent food. Ordered through a local app and got these lunch (or could eat for dinner) containers that are made up of leftovers from their lunch buffet. It is a surprise what you get, which is fun since I am open to trying new things and don't have any food allergies to worry about. I was delighted with everything that was in my to-go box and you couldn't beat it for the price. I popped right in and showed them my confirmation and they handed me my order. I will 100% be back! I would even go here during the actual lunch buffet, the food was so tasty and I would like to see what else they offer. Great value for what you get.

I came here for the Vegan Prix Fixe menu (Yelp Instagram giveaway winner)The menu was beautifully crafted, with each ingredient combination thought out. Personally, I found the food salty, but others did not. They thought it was perfectly seasoned. Since there was two of us, we got to try the entire menu. My favorite item by far was the butternut squash soup. This creamy, decadent soup was flavorful and comforting. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka as an addition to our meal, and this was my second favorite because I love the flavors and how juicy/tender the meat was.Not only was the food absolutely amazing, but so was the service. Everyone was super attentive and I loved how they explained each dish, even the chef came out. Big shout out to Executive Chef Anand Pokhrel for explaining his thought process of this menu. You can see the passion he has for his food, definitely try out this place!
Visit Restaurant Page"I didn't have any expectations going into Zomsa, but I left a convert. Zomsa has some amazing flavors and textures, and I can't wait for my next visit. We got everything medium spice, which already had a good kick. The entrees came with rice, so it ended up being more than enough carbs.Amazing, would absolutely get again- Gorkhali kukhura ($19) - This chicken dish was incredible. The chicken was so tender and the sauce was thick and so flavorful. Great, would get again- Fried chicken momo ($13) - Perfectly crunchy on the outside and tasty chicken filling on the inside. - Laccha paratha ($5) - Buttery layered bread, what's not to like?Good, might get again- Chana masala ($17) - Honestly my mouth hadn't fully recovered from the spice in the biryani when eating this, but I thought it was quite flavorful and good.- Shrimp biryani ($19) - This dish had a lot of tomato and spice flavor, but not as many shrimp (maybe 6 total). The shrimp were good, though!Wouldn't get again- Chicken thukpa ($15) - Unfortunately this was pretty bland. It tasted better with spicy sauce, though! We also got the mango lassi ($5) which was pretty standard and was a nice complement to the highly spiced foods. The service was good and the interior of the restaurant is elegant and spacious. I'm looking forward to my next visit!"
"This is an exciting new taste for Winthrop.A pleasant storefront across the street from the general parking lot. The restaurant features rice bowls soups grilled chicken tikka A bunch of salads all served quick also available for takeout. The staff was very willing to inform you on the food they actually gave me samples which was great.Everything tasted fabulous‼Very happy to have this on my way home it'll be a great little addition to the few restaurants in Winthrop. I give Bridges Nepali Cuisine a Solid 4 Stars."
"Amazing buffet, amazing owners. Family business and open for lunch buffet! I love their chole bature and freshly grilled kebabs (ANY KEBAB) on their menu. The inside of the restaurant is so clean and vibrant and service is so helpful and kind. Pristine silverware, pristine service. I also love the shrimp in their lunch buffet ufff. Also I discovered today they have PANI PURIIII! Ufff I'm giving a 5/5 but if I could I would give a 10/10. Love, Rima"
"Took the Mrs. here on a Wednesday night. First impression wasn't great as we were the only guests in the restaurant at 6pm . We had a waitress that was in training so I won't harp too much on the service, though it was dead silent because there was no music playing. The drinks were very strong, got my girl pretty drunk off two which is a win for me financially. The food was absolutely amazing. The chicken tikka was the best I've ever fucking had. And look at me..... I'm a chicken tikka kinda guy. I've had them all. The app was good too. I recommend this place for takeout 100%. Dine in is fine if you're into eating alone in an Indian restaurant."
"More momo's more momo's! Please! We were craving nepalese food and wanted some momo's so decided to come to Makalu. We noticed the new decor upgrades as soon as we walked in which was a nice surprise. The waitress was very nice and quickly brought us water and the menu. After deciding on which momos to order we scanned through the menu and decided on their sauteed chicken dish and a yellow lentil dish. When the food came out, it was nice and hot. The garlic naan was nice and fluffy and good. The chicken was very different and surprisingly delicious! It had a very distinctive flavor and we couldn't figure out the spice which was exciting. The lentil dish was also very good. The momos were also very good and we really liked the dipping sauce they came with. I wish we had ordered more but we had plenty of food and we were stuffed by the end of our meal. We couldn't resist and decided to get mango lassis to go and they were already in to-go cups! Perfect!"
"So yummy! I had the samosa chaat, chili plantain momo, and garlic naan. Everything was amazing and reasonably priced! There are lots of vegetarian momo options. I think the chili plaintain momo was my favorite, with a perfect combination of dense plantain filling, chewy momo skin, and spicy sauce! I ordered pickup on Doordash and it was ready quickly. Would definitely come back for takeout again!"
"I really enjoy this pizza, but my king island partner prefers another since he feels this has too much cheese. We really liked the momos though the the sauce and fried varieties that we had. Will be ordering again."
"Wow, what a great little Indian restaurant! They have lots of the "traditional" Indian dishes like butter chicken, vindaloo, tikka masala, aloo, gobi, etc. They also have some dishes that have a Chinese influence to them, like chili chicken and Himalayan momos and chow mein. We ended up ordering SIX different main dishes because it all sounded so good and everything was delicious! I like vegetarian dishes and really liked the mixed veg (many different veg in a curry sauce) and the sag chana (I think), which was chickpeas cooked in a spinach and garlic sauce (like saag paneer, but with chickpeas instead of cheese). The chicken vindaloo was excellent and had a bit of heat to it--perfect! The sukuti momos were really interesting and had somewhat of a bitter flavor with the topping. The dumpling was full of meat and flavor and really tasty.Overall an excellent flavor experience and I would definitely go back!"
"I recently visited Masala for their all-you-can-eat Indian buffet, and it was an absolute delight! The variety of Indian food options they offer is impressive - from flavorful tikka masala to creamy palak paneer, delicious garlic naan, succulent tandoori chicken, okra, and more! Their weekday lunch specials from 11 am to 3 pm for $14.95 per person are a steal. The ambiance was calming, with soothing Indian music playing in the background. I particularly enjoyed sitting by the window, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The customer service was top-notch, with attentive staff catering to our needs. I can't wait to come back for another fantastic dining experience at Masala!"
"I wish I'd taken pictures of the beautiful food, but I have to rave about the amazing meal my husband and I had at Coriander. We split the vegetarian meal for 2, which was only $40 and was SO MUCH FOOD. We both ate a full meal and then brought home leftovers. Everything is incredibly flavorful, service is quick and staff is so friendly. We tried a few sauces that we loved, and our waitress brought us extras to take home with us. We've raved about the restaurant to everyone we can! We will definitely be back."
"Steamed pork momos were delicious. So good.Goat biryani had tender goat meat, I asked for hot but it wasn't too spicy. The seasoning was different than I was used to.Chicken fried rice was good too."
"Himalayan Bistro is a very accommodating restaurant and a delicious choice! It has a simple decor a and a bit of a dark (as in dimly lit) ambiance.A choose to have a cocktail - the Himalayan green that had gin, tequila, and sour apple. Sour apple was the predominant flavor but the cocktail was very drinkable, It came in a martini glass with short straw. My wife and I got the veggie dinner for two with some additional cherry naan. They were nice enough to let us sub-in a banana momo special into it, which was ok with a bit of banana flavor. The predetermined apptizers were 2 veggie samosas (nothing out of ordinary) and a very good Mulligatawny soup. I ordered the Kabuli Chana to be spicy hot and it was great. Imagine a perfectly heated chickpea base with a thick red sauce.Dessert was equally enjoyable. We shared a sweetened carrot cake with milk that was only fine but the milk based balls in honey were fantastic.During the Covid lockdown we tried their takeout and was equally satisfied. The samosas remained the same. The raisin and nut naan was tasty, as was the saag paneer. The lamb curry was even better! My toddler son loved it all."
"Martsa on Elm has been here for three years, with their last location serving for five. My partner and I came here to try Tibetan food for the first time. I had momos before, but from Nepalese and other Asian restaurants so I wanted to see if theres any difference. If you don't know what they are, momos are steamed dumplings filled with veggies or meat. These are as good as the other great momos I've tried. I also wanted to try out other well known tibetan food. From my research: butter tea, shapalay, and thukpa. The butter tea was definitely interesting. It is used widely in Tibet and is drank by older folks in ceremony. The hint of butter adds richness to the tea which is savory. It's not something I would order again as i found it overwhelming, but it is worth a try. Shapalay is meat filled fried pastry. It's filling and delicious. The pastry is crunchy and the meat is flavorful.Lastly, thukpa is a noodle soup that can come with meat or tofu. The noodles are kind of like pho noodles but thicker. I loved the texture and flavor. I might come back for it again. I had beef for all the meals and i noticed they used the same style of meat throughout. The meat you see in the soup is the same being used in the momos and shapalay. It was very filling indeed. Overall, the ambiance is amazing, theres authentic decor throughout the walls. It made me feel like I'm in a foreign area. The food was delicious and t service was great and accommodating."
"This is our new go to Indian take out spot. The prices are reasonable and the food is so fresh it's unbelievable! Make sure you check in on Yelp so you can use their 15% coupon. If you order on their website directly you can also get $3 off.We ordered:1.) Chicken Biriyani - 5 stars This was definitely the best dish to order here!! The rice and chicken tasted so fresh.2.) Saag Paneer - 4 stars3.) Green Chili Chicken - 4 stars. I was expecting a green colored curry but this one tasted more like chicken tikka masala with green chilies. I wasn't complaining. Our ordered came with raita, mini pappadam and a couple of chutneys for free! I can't wait to order from here again and maybe get the Manchurian this time."
"The food here was amazing!!! We tried a bunch of stuff with a mix of chicken and pure veggie. The service was very nice and attentive.Ambiance was just ok, it was a bit cold but no frills overall"
"I am so hesitant to leave a review because I love walking out of here with bags of food and receiving confused looks from passerbys. But I want them to succeed, so I must share :( Expert Eyebrow Threading on Salem St in Malden put me on :) and now I'm obsessed. Favorites: steamed chicken momo & the soup. My foreign exchange student wanted the bison momo, but wouldn't stop eating my chicken!! Lol. Everything here is good. You can't go wrong. Oh, and everyone is soooooo nice. Don't be shy, say hi. It's a Nepali store with a kitchen tucked in the back. They also sell refrigerated items like dumpling wrappers, snacks, ramen, the average convenience items, ingredients/food & even...Jarritos!! Pro tip: Please ask for their traditional noodle soup (Not on menu--I get the veggie, but you can add meat). Trust me."
