The food here is good. I like the quesadillas and taco plates. The service is fairly fast. The decor is nice.

Usually really solid place for a quick bite. I would definitely recommend ordering ahead; call ahead on your phone instead of using other services to save money on fees! Employees are generally nice.Burritos are a good size and are tasty. Would recommend getting the red/green hot sauce on the side! They really add to the flavor. Overall a solid stop in JP.

Bomb-tastic Mexican food right on Centre St. in JP! I stumbled in one day while trying to explore the area and was stunned by some of the great Mexican street food offered here. The space is small but def has enough for a few groups to gather as well as plenty of solo bar seating on the side. Most people grab to-go here anyways. Food comes out pretty quick and you can also order online on their website for an even quicker pick up. I highly recommend the birria tacos here! One order is about $15 and has 3 tacos with a flavorful consome. I've had these birria tacos about 4 times already and they have been consistently deliissshhh! It's hard to find a lot of authentic birria tacos places in MA, but Chilacates is def a great start and a good enough place, so check them out! I've also ordered quite a bit of the other items offered here but weren't too impressed. The al pastor, carnitas and carne asada tacos were a bit pricey for what you get. The chicken tinga burrito is good and convenient for grab and go, but at the same time, felt a bit underwhelming overall. The torta was unique and tasted great overall but became messy and a bit soggy (even though we dined in). The carne asada quesadilla was great! It was just the right amount of junky (with generous amounts of cheese) but also balanced with all the guac, sour cream and pico!

Birrias were juicy and flavorful. My shrimp quesadilla was not too cheesy so I never got sick of eating it. I'm a pretty picky person (usually always ask for no this no that or sub in this for that) and chilacates at all 3 JP locations accommodated me with my special requests with no issues ever. We will be back

The food is good, but they don't really seem to listen to requests. Whether it's asking for pico on the side through an online order, or going in person and telling them exactly what you want. I don't want to be that person who makes them redo my order, but it's also unfair that I paid for something that wasn't what I ordered. It's hard to write this because I understand how the Latinx community works, but I still think that employees should be mindful of how loud they speak when referring to customers who are still in the store.

All of the prices are blacked out on the menu board (as seen in a photos posted in other reviews). I read from one review that the tacos were roughly $4.50, however, when I came in and asked for the price of tacos, I was told $5.50 each (lengua tacos). I didn't order online because sometimes the price is a little higher due to fees, in this case, you should just order online if you don't want to wait in store. It was already late, so we still ordered the food. Usually tacos go for 3-4$, so for such a pricey taco, I expected it to be bigger or stuffed from past experienced where tacos were $5+. The tacos were half full. Taste wise 3.5/5, we ordered lengua and al pastor tacos. Salsa verde just tastes like lime. Rounding up to 4/5 because everyone there was nice, place looked clean, waited less than ten minutes for six tacos. I probably wouldn't go back since they can change the price at any time without posting it and it's honestly not worth the price per taco.

I ordered the chicken quesadilla and the tres leche cake. The quesadilla was cold, soggy and a complete mess. The chicken was dry. The cake was in a tiny container and there were approximately four bites; definitely not worth the money. The cream on top looked and tasted like Cool Whip. Normally my meals have been very good, but this time it was extremely disappointing.

Fresh ingredients, flavorful sauces, and authentic tasting food like it was meant to be.... always a winning move to grab a burrito and some street corn.
