Markus D L. "Tacos was the goal so we decided El Pelón Taquería. We were lucky enought to get parking right in front. There is a nice setup outdoors but I Wish they had more indoor seating because Boston is cold outside right now. The place seemed surface clean. I had to wet napkins with water from the soda machine and wipe the table down. And under the table needed to be swept. Chicken and steak tacos were good and flavorful. One issue was that the steak was slightly overcooked so the hot sauce kinda just sat on top rather than blending in like with the chicken. They were also topped with so many ingredients, they were hard to just pick up and eat. Get the napkins ready! Tried the pork burrito. It was laden with rice beans plus the pork was dry. If it just had more salsa it would have been perfect and added a freshness to the burrito, but i wasn't spending $5 to get a side of salsa. I would go back. Prices were reasonable and the food was good for a quick filling meal. Service was okay. Overall nice place but the food is definitely too messy to eat in the car."

Eugene A. "Authentic Mexican food with very reasonable prices. Order at the counter. I ordered the chicken tinga tacos and a fish taco. All were a bit different than I'm used to (something about the sauce) but were very good. Added a side of chips and salsa, which was quite large for one but was also tasty. Overall, good experience. Small space offering limited countertop seating with maybe half a dozen stools. Takeout is a good option with a park with benches right across the street. Friendly service"

Jose C. "We came here after landing at Logan. The place is very homey and right in the middle of a neighborhood. So street parking could be a little challenging, but they're there. The place is very tiny and can get packed at any given time. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table. My wife ordered their deluxe Huevos rancheros con chorizo. These were really good. You get two crispy corn tortillas, kind of like hand made tostadas, topped with refined beans, eggs, chorizo, avocado and queso fresco. The salsa was really good and the avocado and chorizo went perfectly with every bite. The same green salsa was used for the chilaquiles I ordered. The dish is very similar in flavor, just prepared differently. The chilaquiles came with chicken, other than that essentially the same dish. It came with beans, eggs, sour cream and queso fresco as well. I really enjoyed our breakfast here and would definitely come back next time I'm in Boston."

Anna F. "I have to say that when I reviewed Naco Taco last it was for take-out for late night tacos, so I had not yet experienced outdoor or indoor seating here. Getting a large group together is inherently difficult, but I was glad that the GM accommodated us for such a busy time (cinco de mayo), and for a group number that ended up fluctuating by a couple at the end. The outdoor patio seating definitely seems more fun and festive- so get seated out there if possible. I let my friends take the lead on the share-ables. Guacamole for both sides of the table, & a pitcher of spicy margaritas was a good call- and we completely finished both. Everyone, for the most part, got tacos. The concise menu helps with deciding. Me and my friend's favorite was the shrimp, which was surprising- I thought the meat tacos were going to be my favorite. The service could have been a little more hands on. People got some additional margaritas and mocktails, and I think that the large order may have led to a little bit of confusion for the waitstaff, but it was no big deal. The only issue my boyfriend was a little frustrated by was how they rushed us out at the end while we were paying and as we were walking out and waiting for a friend to get out of the bathroom."

Mark T. "Disclaimer: this is for their food truck. I ordered a Choriqueso Torta. While it didn't blow my socks off, it was still a solid, respectable, and flavorful sandwich. To start, the bread was just right - it was soft enough to be pleasant to bite into without falling apart or being so firm biting down squeezes all the filling out like it's the last drop of toothpaste! The chorizo was great! It was fresh and had fantastic flavors with great spice and heat. I also appreciate that the protein was skimped on. Also, the cheese paired with it very nicely.Where it comes to veggies, these were a pleasant touch, offering some freshness and balancing the heavily savory and fatty notes of the chorizo and cheese. Finally, service and value: While I was the only person with an order, getting the sandwich took a minute or two, and it tasted fresh. As for value, the Torta was perfect for lunch, filling, and reasonably priced at $9.95.Thus, a great truck to grab a lunch from, with quality food, fast service, and a price that won't thin your wallet and leave you hungry for more."

Their tortas are FIRE. wowee those tortas taste good. They really stand out from the crowd. Their meats are so rich and savory. It's the perfect torta! As I mentioned in my previous review, I love the chicharron torta, but any flavor is good.Their chips also surprised me. They're actually quite addictive. Usually I don't expect to be wowed by chips and guac, but Tenoch's chips are next-level. I'm not sure why, but they have an amazing crunch to them. Maybe they're extra deep fried or something."

The drinks were very strong to balance out the sweet but were a bit overpriced in my opinion. We sat directly at the bar so our service was very quick and friendly. We started with a signature margarita and fresa verde. Both were good and very strong. For my fresa verde I was confused thinking it would be green but it ended up to be very sweet and paired great with the tajin rim. The strawberry mojito was very sweet almost too sweet so it would be a one drink order and switch to something different. The only downside to this location attached to Quincy market is the bar is semi outside with walls so if someone is smoking you can smell it which prompted my leaving as they were very packed."

I quite enjoyed the enchiladas with al pastor- the meal was fresh and filling and huge/heavy, the meat was flavorful and juicy, and the Mexican rice and stewed black beans on the side were tasty and seasoned well. The tacos though had dry meat (various meats, including al pastor), like maybe they were under a heat lamp or something, and the refrieds were wayyyy too salty. We also tried the app sampler, which was nothing to rave about but not bad either: the cheese nachos were plain but the cheese sauce was flavorful, the elote was decent, and the chicken flautas were a bit on the burnt side but had lots of flavor. Mixed bag, but worth a try."

A kind staff member tried to suggest how to get in but then recommended the school parking lot just across the street. It was a kind gesture and greatly appreciated. For appetizers we shared Pupusas lorroco and revueltas as well as Chicharron con yucca frita. The pupusas were larger than usual and came out pretty quick. They tasted good but fell apart very easily. Chicharron was crispy with the fatty layer still slightly soft and easier to chew into than usual. I personally would have liked the yucca fried for longer so that I could see more of a separation between the layers but still yummy with the pink sauce, tomato sauce and cabbage salad. For entrees we shared Huevos con chorizo and Camorones Al ajillo. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the variety of textures, temperatures and colors. Shrimps we're plump and delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Staff went above and beyond to continually check on us and complete our requests. Bathroom was clean and spacious. It's definitely not the kind of Mexican food I grew up eating, but it still tasted pretty good. I would say the dishes here are more Americanized as opposed to authentic, but nonetheless they're tasty. The prices are decent, but what really won me over was the atmosphere The walls, furniture and decor reminded me of the dozens of restaurants I grew up near. Mark T. "I recently learned that Horchata is not, in fact, an alcoholic beverage. I also learned Horchata is freaking delicious. Why has this been hidden from me for 30 years?!After plans for sushi fell through, a close friend and I decided to go here for dinner. I tried the Tacos Al Pastor and, of course, that lovely rice milk beverage. With the Tacos Al Pastor, these were very good, but just a little shy of perfection for my taste. I like that they seemed very traditional and authentic. Comprising them were protein, onion, cilantro, and a sauce. Everything was well-balanced. The onion and cilantro were not overdone at all and made themselves known without turning a taco into a taco salad. The sauce added flavor but was not overpowering. Where the taco comes short has to deal with the protein. While flavorful, I found it heavier on the acidic and salty side than I prefer. I was also unable to pick up on any pineapple notes that one usually finds in Al Pastor-style meat. I am not sure if this is a result of the meat, the sauce, or my own ignorance as to what makes a real Al Pastor. When it comes to the Horchata, this one was divine. It was not too sweet, and the flavors of rice, cinnamon, and vanilla (I believe), all came together in beautiful, rich harmony. Thanks to The Aztec Restaurant and, of course, my friend, this is now a beverage I will seek out every time I'm at a Mexican restaurant, and the bar has been set high! Finally, the location was cute, and the service was friendly and speedy. Alas, The Aztec Restaurant is a little out-of-the-way for me, so I wouldn't be able to go there very often. However, I will credit them for being a wonderful alternative to the sushi that fell through, even though the categories are different. Was I a little bit closer, I do see myself coming here on occasion."
