"5 Stars for what I can honestly say is in my top 5 restaurants I've ever eaten at. Also- order everything on the vegetable meze section. We had a Sunday 9:30pm reservation as that's all that was available a week out, but we tried our luck and came in early and scored a spot at the bar. Rebecca was the bartender and came highly recommended by the hostess who suggested those seats over others that happened to be available. We fully trusted Rebecca after she suggested the perfect mineral-forward white wine based on my very bad description of flavor preferences. Of all the dishes we ordered, there was not a single one that felt forgettable. Each dish was surprising and had at least one element that completely blew us away. Below are the dishes you MUST order!- Za'atar bread with pistachio muhammara: This was my single favorite bite of the evening and tbh of 2024. The bread was exceptionally seasoned and the pistachio muhammara was a revelation. It was topped with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and olive oil. I'm considering going back tomorrow for this dish.- Spinach falafel with tahini sauce, beet tzatziki, and pickle slices: These falafel were moist and hearty. They balanced the zesty beet tzatziki and pickles perfectly. - Fatteh-- caramelized onions, cauliflower, crispy mushrooms, pine nuts, and yogurt between delicate sheets of filo. Every element of this dish was intentional and necessary to create this simultaneously light and satisfying small dish.Potato and red lentil Kubba featuring Swiss chard, pistachios, eggplant jam, and fried carrots. This is a more robust, filling dish that comes piping hot. It felt like comfort food elevated. Dessert: Do not miss the Turkish style profiteroles or the Milk jam filo rolls. Both are sweet and complex, but also totally decadent. Beyond that, the wine list (many natural wines!) is robust and well curated. And for us newbs, the bartenders and staff are unbelievably helpful and unpretentious. Overall, the service, ambiance, and food stood out and make this restaurant one of my new forever favorites. It truly cannot be missed!"
"Thank you Sarma for giving me a favorite restaurant in Boston! They're rated by several sources as one of Boston's top restaurants, for good reason. Reservations are difficult to come by but they seem to have a decent amount of seating by the bar.Dishes are not delicious and made with high quality ingredients, they're also beautifully presented and very creative with the flavors. My favorites were the cornbread (very filling, loved the peppers and feta inside) and duck (super juicy and flavorful); would 100% order again. Fried chicken (off-menu; from what I can tell, it comes out about every hour, starting roughly at 5:30) was very solid. I greatly enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, which also were super flavorful (loved that garlic aioli on the bottom). For dessert we had the "baklava cones", which was a light, refreshing way to end the meal."
Delicious breakfast in a bowl: home fries topped with sauteed tomato, peppers, onions, and fresh avocado, with three eggs your way on top and cheddar cheese.

"Mistral is easily one of the busiest and popular restaurants in Boston for their upscale fare, and perfect for any small business, group or two-person meal. Parking can be either available through valet or on the street. I recommend doing the valet to save time. Foie gras - this is what you expect and done to perfection. What you will find is a small amount of bread or crackers to add this to, and you may need to ask for more. The texture glides and is as creamy as it gets. I definitely recommend this above all other small bites. Escargot - also cooked just right, the escargot is delivered perfectly in oil and garlic, and holds a soft texture that goes down easy. I would recommend this as well, and it is served up quickly. Duck - the duck option is plentiful, and cooked so very well that you won't get the typical oily or gamey texture. You can tell that they take their time to make this dish, and it is glazed to perfection with a nice light reduction. They were able to split the dish and it turned out to be perfect at this juncture even for two people, or one hungry person. You can't really go wrong here, and the service will be steadfast. The patrons may not be your cup of tea if you're looking for a diverse enclave, but you will find a modern French meal that will be superb."
"Everything you could want in a local breakfast diner. The service was friendly and incredibly fast. Laid back atmosphere where everyone was having a great time. We arrived at 10 am and there was only a 10 minute wait. Parking is very limited on the street though. The food was great. Classic lox bagel and French toast. Hash browns that are actually mashed potatoes. Actually pretty good. Food came out in 5 minutes. The iced coffee was meh but self serve coffee bar meant an easy fix with milk and syrups. Prices are reasonable and the portions are big."
"This is a solid Mediterranean spot. I tried their spicy beef shawarma plate with fattoush, garlic dip, rice and potatoes, and their spicy garlic sauce. The highlight of the meal was definitely the garlic dip and spicy garlic sauce, which went perfectly with everything! The garlic flavor was super strong. I liked how the spicy garlic sauce had a tanginess to it which balanced out the savory, meaty flavors in the shawarma. The portion was pretty big so I ended up having leftovers. I discovered that the garlic dip completely changes texture when reheated (the oil and garlic split), but it just turned into a very tasty garlic oil.The rice and potatoes were a generous portion but I thought they were just okay. They were good accompaniments to the meat and sauces but were a little plain on their own.We also tried their signature burger which was quite dry and not super impressive. I would much rather get their plates over their burger."
"OPA..... Stopped in recently due to a recommendation by Guy Fieri the Diner Drive In's and Dives. As usual his endorsement does not be great. I'd say it's a moderate Greek restaurant meaning not special to make me come back. The ambiance of of a traditional Greek joint with murals on the wall depicting urban Greece. Our waitress was a real Greek so this added to our experience but I can have that at in-laws house as well.Ordered a feta & olives plate , saganaki and two pork Souvlaki Gyros. Feta was dry and olives were smaller kalamatas. Not something lost Greeks serve. Gyros we're OK nothing I'd scream OPA over however the Saganaki was absolutely amazing. Real thick cut of cheese and perfectly charred. Reminded me of summer time dining in Athens. First class job on that one I loved it. Anyways try this place if your close by but don't drive out of your way based on TRIPLE D..."
"I had the opportunity to try an "Authentic Pork Gyro" and some Greek Fries. On the positive side: the food was solid, the portions were large, and the service was friendly and fast. Where they fell short is the execution and, therefore, the meat. One of the things that hurt the gyro was the first bite. It was all meat and bread, no sauce, no veggies. When effectively on its own, I found the pork a little tough. While pork roasting on a spit isn't the most tender of cuts, the pieces were a bit thicker than at restaurants that thinly shave the meat. The flavors were okay, not mind-blowing, but it did seem to have the essentials of salt and pepper, which fits the bill since The Feisty Greek isn't going for any Michelin stars (yet!).Where the tzatziki, tomato, and bit of onion (I would have liked more) met the meat, now we are talking! The moisture of the veggies and sauce complimented the pork very well and helped make it softer and more tender. The only thing missing was hot sauce, but I believe hot sauce goes with everything but cereal, so that's just me being me. Another note is that the couple of fries they added seemed unnecessary (though it is authentic, according to reliable sources). Having the veggies and sauce applied throughout the entire length is all it would take to go from good to great! The side of Greek fries was delicious! The fries were cooked and seasoned nicely, and you can't go wrong with feta and oregano. I also asked for some extra tzatziki sauce on the side: this stuff was unusual but good unusual. They made it with cucumber, which added delightful crispness and freshness, but curiously no herbs. So, while this was a solid experience, I can't say it is worth repeating the trip to Norwood for the gyro alone."
"Trade in Boston, Massachusetts is a stylish and beautiful Mediterranean restaurant led by co-owner and James Beard Award-winning Chef, Jody Adams. We love a female chef. This is an easy-shareable spot. Almost every dish is shareable. The restaurants is inspired by the Greek way of life of fostering relationships, building conversations and connections over the sharing of plates. -website Every dish seemed like it had a meaning. All dishes we tried were rich in flavor and had a connection with Mediterranean cuisine. My group enjoyed the crispy calamari, burrata, hummus and pita, spinach pizzette, and then I had the tuna and rice bowl as my entree. We went for a non-drinking lunch but I must say something about the cocktails at this spot. The cocktails are fantastic and the bar is elegant and beautiful.Just a suggestions. No big deal! On fire halloumi cheese."
"I love a good Mediterranean meal and if I can find Adana kebabs it is an even bigger win. This was our second visit for lunch. I had the Adana kebabs, they said they were spicy and they were. I got the wrap and that is all you get. If you want a side you will need to order it separately. My husband had the chicken shawarma, it was ok. Not enough flavor, kinda bland. Our daughter had the shawarma plate and that was very good. Lots of fun things included like hummus, rice, taziki and pita. Service is from the walk up counter. You order and take a table number to your seat. Nice selection of dressings and spices available for diners to grab for their table. Seating area was clean."
"Amazing Greek Ameeican food. This place is well known and frequented by those who have discovered it so expect to wait during peak hours. Ordered their vegetarian platter with rice and potatoes and everything was so flavorful and fresh. 3 days later I am still thinking about the dish. They are currently operating as pick up only and a scaled down menu (no breakfast options). Still worth a visit"
"Moving from California to Massachusetts was a big change, but finding Gyro and Kebab House made it all feel like home. This chill Turkish spot serves up some of the best food I've ever had, and I knew I hit the jackpot as soon as I walked in.Families sitting around, tucking into their meals, and a décor that's like a passport to Turkey, it just feels right. You order at the counter then snag a table, and before you know it, warm Turkish bread lands with a side of yogurt and hot sauce. Now let me tell you, this bread is next-level. Fresh, puffy, and it's never been anything but perfect. Try it with the spicy dip, and you're in for a treat. When it comes to the main event, I'm a creature of habit. I go for the mixed grill plate, with an extra kick of jalapenos. The gyro is a taste knockout, and the beef and lamb kebabs are seasoned so well you'd think they had a PhD in flavor. Then there's the chicken kebab - tender, juicy, and full of seasoning. The rice is a tasty sidekick, and everything on that plate tastes like it's made with a little extra love. What keeps me coming back, though, isn't just the food. The folks here treat you like family. The service is speedy, the food is always fresh and hot, and I've never left feeling anything but satisfied. The consistency of both the flavor and service here is something special. So, if you're in Massachusetts and looking for a place that'll hit the spot every time, you've got to try Gyro and Kebab House. I can't wait for my next visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed."
"Did Uber eats from here on a recent work trip to Boston. I really enjoyed the lentil bowl and the labne with banana. The portions are super generous, I could barely 1/3rd of what I got."

love this place. Such a cozy restaurant with a kind of bohemian vibe. Bartender there was very friendly and knowledgeable and responded some amazing dishes, which are small meddetrrian tapas style. The food was outstanding 1) Bluefish Conserva- light and flavorful with good acidity. Bluefish was fresh and tender 4/52) Fatteh- so good. Very savory and light. Greta textures with different vegetables and the crunchy flatbread. The yugat sauce added a nice light tartness too 5/5 3)Sultan's Delight- beef was so tender and great umami flavor. Eggplant pair great with it 5/5 4) red peper dumplings- the only heavy dish I had. Was very interesting and tasty with a rich tomato yogurt sauce. 5/55) Vermont Quail Kebab- Tasty dish with thick tender quail atop crispy rice. Very mild kick to the dish with pistachios to add a little nuttiness and sweetness 4/56) Turkish Style Profiteroles- a little salty a little sweet, a little savory. Great dessert. Halva added the sweetness and the cooked cashews added a nice saltiness and good texture. 5/5Will be coming here many more times for the food, ambiance, and kind staff

Middle eastern tapas presented beautifully and nice ambiance. Definitely recommend making reservations because they are always super busy. They do take walk ins for the bar and table seating but expect a wait. I've been here multiple times and the food is always super tasty and delicious. It is a bit pricey but very much worth the complex flavors.

Came on Christmas Eve-wow, wow, wow. Insanely delicious. This place is a gem. Our server was fantastic and the food out of this world. The tall ceilings and large windows just make the space feel so huge. Love it here. Will definitely be trying their sister restaurants in the future.

Love sound bites. It's always very quick and very yummy. Their menu is pretty extensive and they have a little bit of everything for everyone. Sometimes there's a wait but never usually that long. Parking can be a little tricky at prime hours but it's super close to the newish ball square green line stop!

The first time I ever had shawarma was over 10 years ago in the Cambridge/Boston area and I instantly fell in love with it. I think Garlic 'n Lemons is my new favorite place for shawarma in this area. My go-to is the mixed plate with spicy chicken and beef, half rice and half potatoes. The portions are humongous and the garlic sauce is so creamy and flavorful. I love mixing the garlic sauce into the rice and the meat. This is also the first time I see a spicy garlic sauce which also tastes great, but I prefer the regular one.

We've been meaning to try Greek Corner for a while, and finally found an excuse to come for a weekday lunch. The restaurant is spacious and homey and the our server was knowledgeable. We ended up ordering more than we could eat (by a lot) and packed around 1 meal's worth of food to go.The appetizer sampler plate ($18) was great -- I liked all of the components. I've had similar appetizer samplers at other Mediterranean restaurants and this was one of the better ones in terms of flavors. The hummus and spanakopita were particularly tasty. I'd get this again. The fried calamari ($14) was plentiful and tasty. The fry was not too greasy, the breading was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender. I would get this again. The chicken kebab plate ($18) was a good amount of food. I didn't love the chicken -- it wasn't very tender and it was pretty lightly seasoned. The onion in between the chicken pieces was pretty burnt. The rice pilaf was a bit disappointing as well. I liked the Greek salad -- good seasoning and fresh vegetables. The special gyro ($11) was decent. The gyro wasn't strongly flavored so it kinda blended into the bread. The sauce was also unevenly distributed (mostly at the bottom). We probably wouldn't get this again.Overall we really enjoyed the appetizers and calamari at Greek Corner, but didn't love the entrees that we tried. The prices are definitely reasonable -- you get a lot of food for a decent price. Next time I'm craving Greek appetizers, I know where to come!

Rarely do I just hand out a perfect 5/5 however Trade, one of the Boston's finest Greek joint is definitely an exception to this. I was celebrating my friends anniversary. Great cozy, inviting, warm upscale ambience. The restaurant had olive trees which gave a touch of nature right in the heart of the bustling city. Drinks were strong and good. We ordered everything that was vegetarian on the menu. I was actually surprised to see so many vegetarian options. Some of my favorites were Pomegranate Glazed Eggplant, Falafel Bulgar Pilafc, Spanakopita Flatbread, and fried cauliflower. The food was so tasty; it was extremely well seasoned and cooked perfectly. All the sauces were delicious. The presentation was outstanding. The staff is extremely friendly. They do charge 3% fee to the overall bill excluding the gratuity/tax which is a bit off putting . The service is a bit slow and even though the drinks took a long time to come; considering everything was so amazing we overlooked the long wait. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Boston!

"I was in town for a conference in the Seaport and wanted to find an outstanding restaurant for my first meal. After reviewing several sites, plus Yelp, I selected Chickadee. What caught my attention was several of the principals had worked at Barbara Lynch's No 9 Park and Chickadee's amazing 4.5 score on Yelp. It's self-described as a New England-born and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. There were plenty of reservations available mid-afternoon Tuesday on Resy, which I found surprising for a great restaurant. I selected a 6pm reservation.Having read an extensive review of Chickadee in Boston Magazine, I was ready to order quickly. I started with two signatures: the Smoked Sea Trout Dip and the Crispy Hen of the Woods. The Trout is buried under a layer of light hollandaise-like sauce. The Hen of the Woods mushrooms look like a crazy Bloomin' Onion atop a thick puree of potatoes, walnuts and garlic. Both were excellent and so unique.I was debating between the Spring Onion Spetzle or the Lobster Campanelle pasta. I asked Santiago, my server, which I should pick and he suggested the Lobster. He said the Lobster is somewhat spicy, with Calabrian chili. I asked for it to be served on the side.I can't put my finger on what I disliked about the pasta. It was bland. And the chili sauce was too spicy to be added. You'd think with lobster, it had to be good. I ate about a quarter of my plate and it just wasn't working for me. I set the dish aside and waited for Santiago's return. He asked me if I wanted to box it, and I said no.What I found odd is why he wouldn't have asked if there was an issue with the pasta. But since he didn't ask me, he'll need to read this review. After two amazing starters, I was disappointed with my entrée. As I walked out, the two managers thanked me for visiting, but didn't ask how my meal was.I don't know what would have happened if I told Santiago I didn't like the pasta. Ditto for the managers. Maybe they would have found some accommodation. Regardless, I tipped Santiago 20% and called it a night. I was in the restaurant for one hour."
"We greatly underestimated this place. I've driven past it a ton of times and found it on yelp because I wanted some Caribbean food. Pulled up and was so surprised this was here. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant, at the time, so I was skeptical BUT after tasting their food, there is no reason to be skeptical. The food here is great! It's a clean facility and good service. They have options for people with gluten free, dairy free and vegan food restrictions. Food was hot, flavorful and reasonable pricing. The food is a fusion of Mediterranean and Caribbean (sounds confusing as first but it made since once my plate was in front of me). We got the jerk chicken dinner and vegan delight plate. Both delicious We will be back to try more entrees from here."
"Quick and delightful service at this deli near Rolfe Square. It's a bit out of the way but worth the detour off Reservoir Avenue. They have a small grocery area with Mediterranean food and sweets, along with a great selection of spices for reasonable prices. The deli is the show stopper. I got a sampler with a delicious assortment of Mediterranean snacks anchored by a generous portion of house pita chips. The Tabbouleh salad is perfectly balanced with hummus and stuffed grape leaves, along with olives. The traditional gyro is overflowing with tender meat in a soft fresh wrap. Don't forget a baklava finger to finish the meal.Lots of seating inside their spotless dining room. Kid friendly and accessible with a clean bathroom. A nice little lunch time adventure!"
"Really folks, the average was four stars? Place is amazing. Great service as soon as we entered. Kevin our server was professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. He made some great suggestions for appetizers and entrees. The portions are large and totally yummy. I had pasta pompodro and it was perfect.Dessert was a fabulous crème Brulé. Perfect. And we even had a few arias sung for us. The ambience was wonderful, truly the most romantic restaurant in Boston. Superb."
"For a fast causal spot, quality here is solid. Their spanikopita was a surprising standout: so flavorful, so crispy, a must-get. Love the option to mix and match a variety of their dips, spreads, and meze: they have so many options that are bound to satisfy, including tasty grape leaves. And their meals offer a choice of sides as well: the lamb shank and green beans are both good bets. We were given mashed potatoes instead of the roasted potatoes we ordered though, and the Lima beans were actually gigante beans, so you might need to be flexible with your choices and confirm directly if you have dietary restrictions."
"Came for a weekday lunch for the first time, and the place was hopping! A small, cozy space, and you grab a table if you can, then order at the counter. The staff were super-helpful to our group of 3 to manage to put a couple of 2-spots together while we were in line for food. The menu was a little overwhelming, but I was looking for the Turkish specialties of the house. Decided on Turkish Lahmacun, Mangal Style (Thin wrap with ground beef & lamb with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and spices), lemon on the side to squeeze onto the lamb - fantastic! The side salad was hearty and tasty. We also got Turkish Borek (pastry layers filled with feta cheese and parsley), also delicious. The salad with prosciutto that our third party got was humongous! Staff was very friendly, even coming over to explain why they don't automatically put plastic silverware into the bag with the leftover salad . Can't wait to come back for more!"
"Came here for a graduation dinner and the place was really cute! There was a set up of someone's post proposal dinner that they were setting up and all the staff was super attentive and kind to the details of it while still quick with our orders! My family and I shared multiple dishes tapas style and got their bread with their absolutely to die for hummus and sauces!! Other notable dishes were the tempura eggplant chips and the lamb pizza pie which was so filling and delicious!Bathroom rating: 5/5Very sleek, fancy, and beautiful and very much matches the interior of the rest of the restaurant! Love to see the quality of a place through the way they take care of their bathrooms"
"Good enough. Wish you got falafel and hummus with the chicken and rice meal. Like you get at Falafel King.Anyway, Med food is great."
"The last time I was here was on New Year's Eve and had a fantastic feast with the seafood platter and lamb chops. Service was wonderful the place was chique. Recently I went to the grand opening of the Amalfi Coast Patio. They did a really good job with putting a bunch of lemon trees and lights and just made it a very plain looking patio to an Amalfi oasis. The drinks were phenomenal and very Italian. They definitely know how to use their aperol liquor. I had something called the Red Berry it was very strong. They have passed others like calamari oysters and meatballs. Very delicious and I will definitely come here again to try their octopus that the owner Eric had recommended. If you haven't met him he's such a charming guy."
"While many of the entrees are around $22, they also have gyro plates as low as $14 for those looking for a cheaper meal. We were in the mood for seafood so two of us shared the grilled octopus ($22), grilled sardines ($19), bakalao ($22), and saganaki opa! ($13). I enjoyed everything and especially liked the charred and smoky outer layers on the octopus and grilled sardines! After we ordered, they provided us with complementary bread, butter, and dressing. The grilled dishes arrived shortly after. We probably could have been satisfied with just the two grilled dishes alone but we were super hungry and interested in trying other things on their menu! The octopus had a nice char while staying tender and was not rubbery at all. While the octopus had a light flavor, the sardines were on the saltier side but not in a bad way. I would highly recommend both dishes, but will mention that the sardines are whole (with heads and bones) if that is not your thing.I've never had salted cod before but I really enjoyed the bakalao. The fried surface was so crispy and the crisp, flaky fish paired perfectly with the creamy skordalia. The saganaki opa! was tasty and it was fun when they lit it on fire, but the other dishes were more memorable for me.I had a great time dining here (the wine is also pretty cheap for a Boston area restaurant). I look forward to coming back!"
"Came on a Sunday morning a few weeks back for brunch. The place was pretty packed. I chose the Kathy Bates benedict b/c I'm a sucker for benedicts. The eggs were perfectly ooey-gooey, and I loved the avocado and fried green tomatoes. Things got messy quickly, but in a good way! It came with a side of home fries that were seasoned with an awesome spice mix--very unique and tasty.Pleasantly surprised and would definitely come back!"
"Small place (seats 10-15) with an unassuming store front, on a busy/trafficky street. Passed by so many times but never thought to come in, till I came across all the positive reviews and think I should give it a go.Walked in right around noon and found the place empty but with frequent call-ins, then few other trickled in to sit down -- seems like all locals who've been there done that.Settled with a couple spread/dip, a salad, and a mixed grill, with baklava as dessert. Lady in the store was very nice, working nonstop to handle front of house from taking orders to wiping tables down. She was attentive enough to tell us to inform her when we are done with our meal so she would then bring us the dessert.Everything on the plate was simply DELICIOUS. Flavorful spread/dip and rice, meat was tender and yum. Definitely a splurge for lunch for 2, but with the variety of proteins and portion size (had enough leftovers for both), that's actually cheaper than each of us getting a regular plate.Wished I had time to try their coffee. Maybe next visit!"
"I fought the urge to choose a restaurant I know and love for our farewell dinner with work friends and instead decided to sample Nuovo before our departure. Fortunately, the group was in agreement because who is disappointed at the prospect of a plate full of pasta? I made a reservation for 7:15pm on a Wednesday and we probably didn't need one in retrospect but I like to play it safe. Right out of the gate, the service was great. Due to the staggered nature of the party's arrivals, our poor server had to introduce himself about 3 times but he had a great attitude. They have a solid drink menu with multiple options that speak to me. I settled on the coconut margarita and as a whore for anything coconut flavored, I really enjoyed this drink. It was definitely on the sweeter side, which I like, but if that isn't your thang I might recommend another cocktail. I subsequently ordered the grapefruit prosecco, which tastes as you would expect. Finally, I ordered an aperol spritz which was lovely and refreshing in the summer. Typically after 3 drinks I would be like bathing in an alcohol pool but on this occasion, not quite as much as I would expect after 3 drinks? Blame it on the carbs...One of the things that I loved about our dining experience is that our server didn't rush our asses whatsoever. We really wanted to relish the evening and our server asked for our orders one course at a time, allowing us to really draw the fuck out of it and enjoy each other's company. For our first course, we decided to share an order of arancini, coconut shrimp, and fig mascarpone. The arancini are 2 huge arancini balls, it says "stuffed green peas, deep fried, and a side of marinara sauce". This was IT. They were so crispy on the outside and tasted creamy and luscious on the inside. I would beg to differ on the peas part, as someone who is obsessed with peas my expectation may have been too high, but I didn't really notice them. Regardless, they were delicious. I do not eat seafood so cannot personally comment on the shrimp but I heard very good things, even from GF who is not usually a shrimp bitch. Unfortunately, we couldn't order the fig mascarpone because they were out of figs, to the big disappointment of one of my dining partners who was really looking forward to that shit. I considered ordering a salad to keep the pipes moving but something about how similar all of the salads on the menu seem changed my mind. Instead, I added a side order of broccoli to main order penne alla giardiniera which the server kindly helped me pronounce lmao. Both the drunk ziti and eggplant parm were on back up in case they couldn't accommodate my request of NO ONIONS but, to my delight, everything is made to order. At least, that's what I took from the server's response that I can "have anything I want". The pasta dish, penne with zucchini, summer squash, tomatoes, and spinach sauteed in olive oil, garlic, and a white wine sauce, was flavored wonderfully and provided a hefty portion of pasta. The pasta had a bit of a bite, but I would have preferred a touch more al dente. The broccoli was also enjoyable.Dining companions ordered one of their specials, pappardelle with shrimp and scallops, tortellini con funghi, and fettucine alfredo with broccoli and chicken. I heard nothing but rave reviews from those broads.Maybe we just drink too fast but on a couple occasions I had finished my drink and placed it on the edge of the table to draw attention to the fact that I would like to order a drink, without being asked. I would also like to add that the server MADE FUN of me for ordering a side of broccoli because I was ordering too many vegetables. I hate to think about how constipated someone is if adding a side of broccoli to a dish with vegetables is thought to be "too many vegetables". Anyways, this was a solid Italian spot on Shrewsbury St."
"Takeout from the Kebab House, I selected the lamb shish plate and three sides. A serious portion of lamb chunks here that were meaty and not greasy at all. Flavorful. The rice was also tasty. As sides, the grape leaves were excellent, the falafel a little dry and the tabbouleh was tasty. Definitely a full meal here.I can see a need to get lunch from these folks again soon."
"Came here to get dinner before class. I got a small chicken shawarma dinner plate and a strawberry, banana, Nutella crepe ($20.71 total). For a drink I got a 20 fl Oz Snapple Diet Raspberry iced tea ($2.41). I really enjoyed my chicken shawarma plate. Everything was really flavorful and well seasoned. The rice and potato wedges were fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crispy and also very well seasoned. The diet raspberry Snapple isn't really related to this specific restaurant but I think it's pretty rare to find the 20 fl Oz bottles, usually they're 16.9 fl Oz. So that was kind of nice. The strawberry banana Nutella crepe was incredibly good. I would definitely come back here just to try more of their crepes. The service was super friendly. I got to watch my crepe get made as well. The woman making it did a great job. Overall 5 stars. Would definitely recommend. Great experience all around."
"Had late dinner here on a Sunday night. At about 8.30pm, we were the only diners but saw a few people do take-outs.The owner is super nice. He did not even for a second make us feel rushed even though we got there 40 mins before closing time. He even let us browse through the small grocery area they have at the back. He was very polite and shared a lot of information about Turkish cuisine and its history. We saw lots of diners share photos of fresh bread and dips served before the meal. That is not done anymore since the pandemic, but I hope they restart that soon as those dips and bread looks delicious! They still have partitions between each table, which is great for dining during busy hours. Now for the appetizer, we shared the Chilled Mixed Appetizer Plate. Each and every item was fantastic. It is very rare that all items on a sampler plate are good but here it was an exception. The Spicy Mashed Vegetable has a nice kick to it and paired well with the yogurt dish, the babaganoush was smoky goodness, the hummus was tasty and beetroot was flavorful. It comes with pita that is toasted(bonus points for that, there is nothing like eating cold dips with a warm pita) and a bunch of raw veggies like carrot, cucumber, radish and celery. The only bummer is the price point. The sampler costs about $30 for 6 dips. There was no meat or warm dishes. I understand the inflation and all, but $30 for an appetizer sampler did not justify the price for us. We also shared the falafel appetizer and that was delicious as well. For main, we shared Vegetable Moussaka With Béchamel Sauce. It was delicious. We chose bulgur and honestly it was meh. But the eggplant was melt in the mouth. It also had other veggies like potato and carrots. So rare to find veggie moussaka on a menu. But for the price tag of $22, I wish it was a bigger portion or it came with a salad or another hearty side. The dish in itself felt a little incomplete. The owner prides himself for cooking the entire food in olive oil and makes sure it is not too greasy. And that did not go unnoticed. We did not feel uncomfortable or uneasy like we do usually after eating out. The food tasted fresh, light and flavorful. Lots of veg and gluten free options on the menu. The restroom was very clean and smelled good too. Overall a great meal but I wish the prices were a little better. The prices are too premium for the food, quantity and ambiance. If not for the prices, this could have easily become our go to restaurant."
"I love this place! Serving sizes is incredible and the food tastes so fresh and flavorful. I usually get the Prince and I've had friends love the sultan. Couldn't recommend it enough the chickpeas in particular I could eat buckets of!"
"Only reason anyone would know this place exists is either they stumbled on it or someone told them about it. It is unassuming and semi-tucked away; you wouldn't actually notice them unless you're actively looking. However, that unassuming feeling disappears once you find yourself inside the establishment. There is this feeling that I cannot explain that sends shivers up my spine. One can't help but feel welcome here. Rose is an amazingly friendly soul that just puts you at ease with the tone of her voice. Even the other customers are friendly with the way they acknowledge you as you walk by towards wherever you're seated. There is happy banter in the air and friends of the establishment would often show up and make themselves immediately at home. You get the point. You're welcome here. But what makes it so special to me now is always the food. And for what they already offer to start, that states quite a bit to what I think of this place. There are many Persian/Middle Eastern fare in this area and most serve the usual so nothing seems to really stand out. That is, at least, until you order their Jujeh Kabob (grilled Cornish hen). Sounds simple, looks simple, but the depth of flavor and the tonguegasmic moments you have partaking of the dish changes their level in the culinary game in the area. It was so good, so so good, I felt completely blown away.I raved about it to Rose, who then told the chef-owner, and then told her I'd be back the next day just to try it again. No way it could be that good I thought. I had to come back again to make sure it was indeed the case (instead of ordering it for "dessert" right in the moment).Well, I showed up at lunch again the next day for exactly the same dish. I just had to. I was hooked. I was made a perma-fan.As I write this, I know I'm about to do what most crazy foodies do as they gain traction in their mind. Get ready and go get some more. Time to wrap this up and head there.See you around some time. Definitely recommend their Jujeh Kabob beyond words."
"The place is family owned and was a nice ambiance. The service was quick and easy but the food was a bit pricey. I liked the food very much but the lamb was very chewy. I would recommend coming here but wouldn't get the lamb."
"Ran across this store while scrolling through all the DoorDash delivery options. Gave the beef kebabs a try and I'm so glad I did. The meat was juicy and tender and the lemon potatoes were also very good."
"Top notch Lebanese food. I finally came here because my husband recommended it by meeting the young owner while pumping gas randomly. Well, this food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I highly recommend the baba ganoush and the hummus and the mix grill. I love the cauliflower and the falafel bites. Just perfect! There was only one server who was the cashier as well and she was super sweet and considering she was the only one, I made sure she was appreciated. The young owner showed up and he was so personable and sweet. I want to come back on a Sunday brunch because I was told that there was music so that would be very exciting for me."
"Splurged and ordered the scallop and tuna over black pepper linguine with leeks, sugar snap peas, grape tomatoes, in a saffron cream sauce ($28). Absolutely terrific. I didn't want to finish it and ended up licking the plate clean. I did find saffron in the cream sauce!I don't recommend the chocolate cake dessert. Overpriced $12 slice of store bought cake. They bring out a plate of all the desserts available, feel free to ask for their pricing. The complimentary bread is cold and slightly stale but garlic oil makes up for it. Service is what it is when there's only one other table other than yours. Savinos is an expensive celebration place and I had the pleasure to dine at because of Nift gift.Plenty of street parking. Inspect your plates/glassware for being used."
