Worth a trip here just for their innovative cocktails alone!5/5 Gloria -- this one is absolutely stunning and so unique, would not have expected the fruity flavors of the passionfruit to go so well with the coffee and mascarpone components of this drink. 4.8/5 Bocadillo Sour4.8/5 Tortuga ExpressWe were less impressed by the food menu items, they were fairly average in taste and execution. 3.5/5 DongPo Ribs -- fried pretty crisp, but were quite dry and missing a depth of flavor3/5 Spicy Eggplant -- very soy sauce heavy sauce profile, with no spicy kick

This place seems to have gone downhill. I visited 6 months ago and had a great meal with excellent service and drinks. Tonight, however, the food was mediocre. Our beef brisket stir fry was drenched in chili oil, with the brisket itself chewy and overly fatty. The Szechuan chicken was good but not great. The drinks were still excellent, but the service was inattentive, leaving us feeling ignored at times. Overall, the experience didn't justify the high prices.

Had the most romantic and lively dinner with Kap at Blossom Bar in Brookline! We indulged in flavorful Szechuan-style Chinese dishes that were perfectly spiced and absolutely delicious. I sipped on the Angie Valencia, a tropical blend of Aguardiente, Aperol, Papaya, Kaffir, and Lemon that was pure sunshine in a glass. My Hubby enjoyed the Tito Puente, a complex mix of Rittenhouse Rye, Toasted Coconut, East India Sherry, Punt e Mes, and Del Maguey Vida de Muertos - a masterpiece in every sip.The Chong Qing dry hot and spicy chicken at Blossom Bar is a flavor-packed experience that's hard to forget. Each bite of crispy, tender chicken is coated in a fiery blend of Szechuan spices, delivering a perfect balance of heat and numbing spice that dances on your palate. The addictive combination of dried chilies, Szechuan peppercorns, and aromatic garlic makes this dish a must-try for anyone craving an authentic and bold culinary adventure. It's the kind of dish that leaves you reaching for more, even as your taste buds tingle with every bite.

Highly recommend! Some unique drinks with interesting flavors like sesame and salted mango. You can't really go wrong..The food was also REALLY good! The fried fish is definitely the best - crunchy, so well fried, spicy but not too spicy so that you can still taste the Szechuan flavor. So yummy! The chong Qing dry hot chicken is also really tasty! The eggplant and string beans are solid - string beans maybe a little too salty for my taste but good flavor. The lo mein is also decent - nothing special but exactly what you expect it to be.This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Brookline!

Visited Blossom bar on a weekday night (Wednesday) and it wasn't too busy. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar, which was fun because we watched the bar tender make our drinks. I tried the Angie Valencia which was sooo good! The bar tender literally pulled out a bunch full of fresh mint and added it to my drink If you like a sweet & refreshing cocktail, highly recommend this one! The papaya slice was also a nice touch. For food, I highly recommend the Chengdu dry hot chicken if you are able to take some heat. This fried chicken dish has a good balance of mala from the numbing peppercorns and heat from the peppers. We had this with a side of white rice. I've eaten a lot of Mala foods and I would say the flavors are pretty authentic here. We also tried the tofu crepe filled with shiitake mushrooms and bamboo. This dish was good but not excellent - the filling was a bit too sweet for me (I prefer savory flavors), but it did remind me of home-cooked Chinese food. I'm usually a huge fan of tofu crepe (tofu skin) but I feel like it could have been prepared better so it would be less chewy.Overall, nothing disappointed and I will definitely be back again!!

I've been meaning to try out this spot in Brookline and finally got the chance! Came here for a dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant filled up super fast as soon as their doors opened, so a reservation will definitely be necessary. The restaurant is well decorated, kind of a modern retro vibe. We ordered five dishes to share between three people and it was the perfect amount (if not too much). I think I may have expected a little too much from here as i thought there'd be more Sichuan flavor in their dishes. Instead, they tasted like classic Chinese take out food, with no flavor profile that especially stood out to me. The duck was good and had a gravy-like sauce on top, but still tasted bland. My favorite dish was the cucumber since they actually had a good ma-la spice kick to them, with some peanut sauce. I also loved the small dish of cabbage included with the duck, which was spicy and crunchy. Their drinks however, were delicious, sweet, and photogenic. Lastly, our server was nice, but was a bit inattentive and grabbed a drink from us before it was done. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back since the quality of the dishes didn't match their higher prices or the expectation of Sichuan food, but it is a nice spot to explore if you're in the area.

My partner and I got the crispy fish fillets, double cooked bacon, and a side of rice -TASTE: 4/5 - loved the salt & pepper style of the fish w its chili aromatics. The thick-cut pork was fatty and satisfying, and noted a hint of the spicy chili peppersTEXTURE: 4/5 - the fish fillets were fried so well and had a great crunch! PRICE: 4/5 - most of the entrees start at $20, so price points are on the higher end. Wish they came w rice thoughSERVING SIZE: 4/5 - good portions. Came for a light lunch, and had to take home leftoversSERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 1:30pm on a Sunday, and there were only a couple tables filled. Our food came out 10-15min later, and our waiter regularly refilled our water. Wish their bar was open during lunch service; we'd definitely come back for all of their cocktails!ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 - hip and modern decor. I can tell it'd be busy and bustling at night PARKING: 4/5 - parked nearby at a metered street spot on Harvard St

Unfortunately, I have to give this place a low review not because of the drinks because of the lack of gluten-free options. The only thing they could accommodate for gluten-free dining was the shrimp fried rice that didn't have any kind of tamari or gluten-free soy sauce.I have been to the other restaurants by this group and have not had the same issue, and was disappointed to find out that there was nothing I would be able to eat. The drinks were really interesting, and unique. I would only go back for drinks.

I'll start by saying it's a good thing I don't live close to this place, or I would be spending waaaaay too much money here. Great food, great drinks, great vibe. Safe to say this will be my new go-to Sichuan spot. I've heard rave reviews of Blossom Bar as long as I've lived in Boston, but finally made it over here for a group dinner on a Thursday evening. I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype. Warning that even on a weeknight, the place was packed (bar included) so I'd recommend a reservation. The cocktail list is extensive with lots of unique flavors and combinations, our waiter was super helpful in recommending some of the most popular options when people had a hard time picking. Everyone ordered a couple rounds so we tasted a number of them, but our favorites included the Luluada, Broken Spanish (my personal fave - a little spicy with avocado and coconut to balance it out), and Malatang. As far as the food goes, you'll definitely want to share with the table so you can sample a little bit of everything. There isn't one thing that we tried that I wouldn't order again--it's truly that good. The menu features what they call "O.G recipes" and "American Comfort" options, so there's definitely something for everyone. Some of my can't miss recommendations: the Prosperity Noodles, Dan Dan Noodles, Pork Dumplings with Chili Vinaigrette, Chong Qing Dry Hot Chicken, and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce. Can't wait for my next visit to explore the rest of the menu. I'm planning to either order more food, or bring less friends because I certainly wouldn't mind some leftovers next time around :)

Finally got to try this new(ish) trendy, modern Chinese restaurant in Brookline, Boston! They offer both traditional and Americanized Chinese dishes, with a stocked bar and crafty cocktails. We ordered a lot of food, so keep up! We got Dan dan noodles, Chengu dry chicken wings, crab rangoons, Prosperity noodles, double-cooked pork, plum extract pork, fried rices, chicken fingers, and drinks! My favorite was by far the Chengu dry rub wings. I was extremely impressed by the crispy, spiced outside and the incredibly juicy inside! It was a great level of spicy and the rub was so unique 8.5/10The two pork dishes were decent. The plum on the plum pork was sweet and tender 7.5/10. The double cooked pork was way too fatty for me and the veggie to meat ratio was off 7/10.Dan dan noodles were also fire- the texture was chewy and bouncy and the sauce wasn't too salty but nothing crazy 7.5/10.Prosperity noodles were supposed to have sichuan flavor, which it did, but the awkward sweetness of the dish made it imbalanced 6/10.Unfortunately, the rangoons and chicken fingers were mid. Rangoons weren't terrible but wouldn't place it in my top 5.5/10. The chicken fingers were... not good. The entire thing was overall so bland, the meat was tough, and the coating didn't stick well. seemed like they put it together last minute 3/10.Overall, the food is decent, but not if you're used to truly authentic Chinese food. it's definitely more Americanized than other places. However, I would go back just for the Chengu dry rub wings. I still think about them.
