I had the best dinner At Basils last night Chicken Piccata was Amazing!! Also the stuffed haddock was mouth watering delicious

This is a cozy find tucked away in a residential area of Medfield. We have eaten there twice. The food is excellent and the menu is varied and interesting. Most recently, I had the duck, which was cooked perfectly, and my husband had the swordfish, which was also very good. However, the service left much to be desired. First, it was slow, but that seems to be more common than not these days in most restaurants. Second, our waiter would often forget us. We asked for water refills three times and when he finally did it, he only filled one glass (we were a party of four). We had to ask twice for a dessert menu.

Basil is a go to date night spot in our house! The food is always consistent and good, the staff is super nice, and the restaurant is so cute! Their specials are some of the best things on the menu! Overall I'm a big fan!

I am a bit mixed on this place and could not believe I have lived in the area and never known about the place or even seen it. This spot is tucked away in downtown Medfield and you would never even know its there since its off the main street, tucked in a neighborhood behind the village shops. First off, this place is set up inside a house which is both good and bad, parking for this place (I would hate to be the neighbors) is tough and if you cant find a spot in the large lot across from the place, you are stuck almost parking on some neighbors lawn or blocking their driveway which we did. This place is not short on business, Saturday night their was a line out the door and unless you have a reservation, you are not getting into the place. The set up inside is tight, very odd, small booth areas in what looks like it used to be a living room, small tight cramped hostess station, bar in the back you have to seek out since its near kitchen and then an upstairs which has long banquet tables which was again, odd, but it worked. The menu here is a very large book, loaded with old school Italian dishes and speciality cocktails and an extensive wine list. The staff here is very good, friendly and fast and they keep up with the busy tables. The place is pretty loud inside and since its tight quarters its even louder. The food in this place is absolutely great, cooked to perfection, very tasty dishes, the veal parm was excellent and so was the calamari and the drinks are good as well. I was shocked, since I have not had anything close to North End Italian in the suburbs at all except maybe Sweet Basil in Needham. This place is great, aside from the odd set up inside and the parking, the prices were what you would expect and the portions are mid to large so you get plenty of food. What a treat and I was happily surprised to find a good restaurant outside Boston proper. Definitely will visit here again and may try take out as well.

Came here for a girls night out. Started dinner with martinis and my friend and I decided to get fettuccine alfredo and was very filling! We ended dinner with creme brûlée. Was nice child free night out!

Had an amazing dinner with superb service this past Friday night. The ravioli app was wonderful, the meat sauce was great, and our server Beth was the best.She was so genuine, friendly and helpful from start to finish ... she was like our mother and best friend wrapped up in one! Thank you Beth for the wonderful evening.

Had a delightful dinner last night. We were a party of 6 celebrating a birthday and the waitress (sorry didn't catch her name )was the best. We were first greeted by Linda the hostess who was also very nice. We all said our dinners were delicious, I had the ravioli special with the grilled chicken and oh so yummy ! Another delightful plate was yeh piccata -actually all 6 of us said delish to it all!! And I would recommend the cucumber martini !! Thanks for helping with an enjoyable ladies night out!

I recently hosted a baby sprinkle celebration at Basils and could not have asked for a better space, food, and service. Tommy was very accommodating and easy to work with on the planning, and Beth provided amazing service the day of. We had the entire private room upstairs to ourselves which made it feel so special and intimate. I really appreciated just how much the team there went out of their way to make things as smooth as possible. I would highly recommend hosting an event / dinner party at Basils!
