Wonderful big city ambience, with a large space, enthusiastic conversations surrounding you, and absolutely terrific food. My wife and I ordered:--crispy rosemary and onion focaccia with eggplant and perfectly salted olive oil--lobster pasta paccheri, which is a rigotoni pasta but without the grooves, it was delicious with saffron, creamy tomato sauce, scallions, and sun-dried tomatoes which gave the dish a perfect sweetness --grilled asparagus --sauteed rapini, perhaps the lesser of these amazing dishes due to the bitterness of the brocollini We were pleasantly amazed at the better-than-north-end quality of the food and will certainly return!

4.5, A vibrant and swanky spot. It gets busy and loud in there but, it's good company. The servers were notably amazing! My friend loved the crab noodles! The mussels sauce was chef's kiss. ( I wanted to take the rest of the broth to go). The roasted egg plant dip was rich, especially with the feta cheese on top. We had a few drinks and all of them were well made, not too sweet. They have a large food and drink menu. Perfect for parties with different dietary interests. They also focus on small plates which is great to sample a variety of items.

Came here for dinner and had the best service. Shout out to CJ, our waiter, who gave us phenomenal recommendations for food and drinks. Food: recommend the orecchiette with bolognese. I would seriously just come back to eat this one dish. The gnocchi was good. Pass on the asparagus ravioli.Ambience: on point for date night or group of friendsDrinks: if you like mezcal and you like sours, get the last word with mezcal. They make a clean espresso martini too.Would eat here again.

We sat outside last weekend and it was very pleasant. We started with the fried artichoke and it was amazing. Portion was small but delicious. My friend has the lobster paccheri which she gets every time. It was very tasty with plenty of lobster, I can see why! I had the lamb meatballs and mussels. I loved the broth from the mussels, and the bread to dip in it. This is one of her favorite restaurants in Boston and I can see why!

I recently attended an engagement party at Bar Mezzana and had a wonderful experience. The cocktail hour was delightful, offering a variety of tasty drinks to choose from. The multi-course meal was a highlight of the evening, showcasing the culinary expertise of the restaurant.Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the wait for the meal to be completed was worth it. The salmon crudo was a perfect start to the meal, with its fresh and delicate flavors. The pasta dishes were very satisfying, with perfectly cooked noodles and a rich and flavorful sauce. The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and paired wonderfully with the accompanying sides. To end the evening on a sweet note, the tiramisu was a heavenly dessert that left me wanting more.Overall, I would highly recommend Bar Mezzana for any special occasion. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a vibrant atmosphere made for a memorable evening. I am already looking forward to my next visit to this fantastic restaurant.

Sardinian wine dinner from a few months back. For $75, this meal was pretty disappointing. Wish I had just ordered from the regular menu.* Carta di musica: first bite, best bite. The fish was fresh, and the flatbread was nicely crisp.* Lobster stew: pretty flavorful.* Culurgiones: the biggest disappointment. I was excited to try this pasta shape for the first time. However, it ended up being like soggy dumplings with a generic tomato sauce. Also--only 2??* Suckling pig: the pork was good but small portion.* Seadas: a lack of effort with this dessert. Just fried pastries with honey.

I came here alone and I will say I felt as if my waiter didn't prioritize me at all because I was alone. I waited 20 minutes to even take my appetizer order. I ordered a dirty martini and it was truly awful, the olives still had the pits in them. I ordered the mussels which were 10/10!! The bread and burrata were good but nothing to rave about! Overall it was okay!

Such a cute Italian spot in the Ink Block area with lots of shaded outdoor seating for brunch. They have a very large cocktail menu, but oddly no coffee menu though you can order your favorite standard barista drink here. I wasn't a fan of my main dish, but my friends raved about their orders so I'll add a little star inflation for the low key enjoyable ambiance.Cinnamon Bun: So much better than Cinnabon! Doesn't have that funky overly yeasty mass produced taste. Tastes like something a grandma in the country would make you for breakfast. Sufficiently large enough to share with a friend before diving into brunch.Confit Duck Hash: Photos of this don't do good job of showing the high greens ratio. I'm not anti-green, since I do believe a strategic pairing of a slightly bitter green vegetable does wonders to offset richness from something rich like pork or duck confit. However, seemed like overkill compared to the scant amount of duck. Everything tasted nice individually, but all that green roughage wasn't pleasant. I'm trying to enjoy a leisurely Sunday brunch with friends, not start a cleanse.

Very disappointed after not visiting for a couple of years. I was invited 10 days ago by work colleagues from New Zealand. I chose the restaurant which I always loved before. Unfortunately they have changed the concept to the dreaded ' small plates, family style sharing and sending out food as it's ready '. This concept was possibly introduced in Boston almost 40 years ago by a restaurant I knew well in a local hotel. It's so done and tired and long past its sell by date. Some of hate sharing food and like a good main dish of decent size and portion. The service was good and that's where it ended. And my Cacio e Pepe was dismal. Too salty and oily. No rush to return although I enjoy the bar.

As an Italian who values homemade pasta and sauce, this place is legit! I go for special occasions and it's always great service. We did a tasting menu once with wine pairing and it was incredible!I love the decor and that it is women owned as well!
