Can't really speak to the food. It looked good from what we could see from other tables, but we were just there for drinks. This is a classic French restaurant to a decent wine list given the relatively small size of the establishment. Prices were in line with what you would expect. Service was excellent.

Very cozy vibes here on Newbury street! Dined here for a friend's birthday and the cocktails are exceptional! The food is good - straightforward French classic, although it was nothing to write home about and needed some additional flavors/salt for my taste. Probably would stop by again for drinks and quick bites.

The food was spot on! Lightly seared foie gras was perfection partnered with a decent charcuterie made for this for a nice dinner with friends, colleagues and date night. Enjoy the patio when you can and note that the stairs into the restaurant are not easy to navigate if you have a disability.

I came to this place with a few friends on a weekend. We were practically the only ones in the restaurant, which is always kind of a sign...The service here was great - no complaints! The drinks were also super on point. Very inventive and delicious! I appreciated being able the hang out in a relaxing environment with our close friends. The thing that really bummed me out was the food. The shrimp dish I had just wasn't very flavorful at all. It was pretty bland and if I wasn't as hungry as I was, I don't think I would have cared as much for it. The folks I was with, too, were also underwhelmed.Overall, I'd say this is a nice spot with great drinks. It's also in a really great location, right along a main street in Back Bay. Lots of other restaurants to compete with though.

Food I got:Steak Tartare, Lyonnaise Salad, Le Canard, Filet MignonThe steak tartare was super delicious and the egg yolk on top was just super fresh. I wish the meat was less tough but still good. The lyonnaise salad was surprisingly my favorite item we got. The Duck had really delicious sauce and amazing smokiness. Filet mignon was also pretty good :) meats were definitely on the tougher side for everything but the service and ambiance were really great! Id go again for a nice wine night!

I booked a reservation on Opentable and was served immediately. The waitress was extremely nice and friendly and I got to sit outside. I ordered three course meals for $69. It includes a starter main course and desserts. My first course came out very quickly but I was confused of what it was I thought it was a duck breast but it's turn out to be foei gras. I wish the person who brought it out said something about what meal I was eating. The duck liver was tasty and fatty and I would love to have it again. On the side there was bread and butter and the butter was sweet and was very buttery and it was homemade butter for sure when I tried it. And then I was waiting for my main course but it came very slow. The waitress kept telling me that my food was coming out soon. At this time the sun already set and it was kind of dark outside so when my food came I could not see the food that well. I asked for the dessert menu and was served crepe which I picked. My total time spent at the restaurant was two hours even though I came alone and didn't have anyone to talk to slow down my meal. Overall I enjoyed the eating experience but I hope it could be faster. I was in no rush but I did not like to wait that long.

My friend and I stopped by for dinner on a Thursday evening - the weather was nice, so we decided to sit in their cute, rustic outdoor seating area. I really liked the overall ambience - somewhat reminiscent of the people-watching aesthetic of Parisian brasseries - and I felt like it set the scene well for what I hoped would be tasty and authentic French cuisine.Unfortunately, I was disappointed on that front. I ordered the steak, which was chewy and bland, and the harissa jus was so oily that I had to try to avoid it when eating the cuts of meat. The sweet potato puree was extremely watery but tasted decent, and the bok choy didn't taste much of anything - definitely way overcooked. My friend ordered the steak tartare, which sadly wasn't much better. The tartare itself was quite flavourless - the meat didn't taste very fresh, and the seasoning/sauces didn't contribute anything to the overall profile. The accompanying crostini were also ridiculously hard - I genuinely thought I would injure a tooth when biting down on it - and made it really difficult to eat with the tartare. They do have a quite extensive alcohol selection, and on that day they had specials of sangrias - red, white, rose, and sparkling. My friend ordered a red sangria and quite liked it - they were sweet and refreshing and (perhaps most importantly?) quite large. That being said, I think - all in all - this was a rather mediocre experience - and at this price point, I don't think I'd be willing to give it another chance.

Bar à vin 1855 had been on my list for a while, although I'm not raring to return. I came for dinner one day when it had finally warmed up outside. Our server was quite friendly and made a wine pairing suggestion for my entrée, the beef bourguignon, a French classic. Overall, the dish was fairly middle of the road for me compared to beef bourguignon that I've had elsewhere. It wasn't the most flavorful, and the vegetables were about the same. I also found that there was not much burgundy sauce with the dish at all, but that could also just be personal preference. That said, I did really like the homemade fries and the service was very reliable. It's also important to note that this place is more wine-themed, and I think I would more readily come back for the wine, but I think I'll return one day and give a different dish a try.

Absolutely loved our brunch at this place! We had the basket of pastries to start, followed by the omelette with veggies. The pastries came with chocolate dipping sauce, which was incredible. The omelette was so fluffy and delicious. I also had three cappuccinos because they were so incredible! The wine list is great - I loved their Chablis. Net/net: It's not a huge menu but you can definitely find something delightful! The atmosphere is also very quaint. It feels like a little Parisian cafe.
