I went there planning on having Chicken and Waffles, but changed my mind to having a custom Burger. It was awesome! Our waitress Shasta was great. The food was great and the atmosphere was too.Seriously you must try this place!

It was an early Saturday afternoon when five of us went to Bootlegger for drinks and lunch. Upon arrival the young woman at the host stand told us to sit anywhere we liked. When we entered the bartender greeted us and said he'd be right over. We chose a long, tall table by one of the garage style doors adjacent to the bar and took our seats. The place was nearly empty with two people sitting at the bar and two others at a table towards the back, along with the five of us.After waiting seven- or eight-minutes waters were brought to us. Not by the bartender though, I think the bar back. After 10 or so more minutes the bartender made his was over and took our drink orders. Two draft beers and three cocktails. We asked for the Build-Your-Own Nachos menu (check-off sheet) so those who wanted nachos could decide on toppings while the rest looked over the menu so we could all order together. The BYO nacho menu was never delivered. After about another 10 minutes we still had not received our drinks. I did see one of the beers on the bar mat awaiting delivery. The bartender seemed to be focusing on a solo woman who walked in and sat at the bar, chit-chatting with her.We waited yet another five or so minutes before deciding to leave. The bartender looked surprised as we were exiting. We told him that it was just taking too long. To which he said, "I have your drinks right here".(If they were "right there", we couldn't see them)It had been more than a half-hour since our arrival. Our drinks should have been in front of us, not him. In that amount of time all of us would've been on at least a second drink. It's really disappointing as we all had chosen our meals. (I was really looking forward to the prawns). It's too bad we we were never given the chance to order anything.

Stumbled upon Bootlegger through Google after searching for somewhere that had fried pickles. Service was good and the server was nice which is the only reason for any stars on the review. However, the food was atrocious. We ordered the fried pickles and they were basically like dipped in corn meal which is not a fried pickle, granted it did say it on the menu so that was our fault. We also ordered the fried deviled eggs and yuck! They were hardly warm, the mix of flavors was not done well although sounded good. I ordered the caprese melt which was a burger bun and a non melted slab of mozzarella with a tomato slice and barely any pesto. It was cold and dry and shouldn't be called a melt. My fiancé ordered buffalo wings and some chicken tenders and the chicken tenders were the only decent thing we ate. If you want loud music, overpriced half done food, and sticky chairs/tables, then come here. We won't be back.

Eh My beer was warm and the glasses aren't chilled No happy hour prices when there's a game at the park. Trash $15 for 8 wings. Won't be coming back because who gets rid of happy hour? Bad for business in my eyes. Thank you for the warm beer.

(Last visited 5/15/2022.) Hanging out in San Diego with my boys for the weekend and it's the last full day before we have to head back home. Well, it's Sunday Funday so that means brunch! I found out this place offers bottomless mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays 9:30am to 1:00pm so we pulled up and got started! Here's how it went...Atmosphere/Appearance: The Bootlegger is set right downtown on the corner of Market Street and 8th Avenue. There's a big vertical sign hanging way above the door pointing down to the bar in a very 60s Las Vegas sign sort of fashion. The inside gives me not-quite rustic vibes with its leather seats, exposed brick, yet modern amenities such as huge TVs hanging over the bar. It was a good mix. This place was LIVE though! It was lively, energetic and just an overall good time.Service: I can't remember who took care of us because there was so much going on, but we sat at the bar so the mimosas were flowing at Mach speed. Lol. We never needed to ask for anything because we had it.Food: I went with the Steak & Eggs, which is seared skirt steak, two eggs any way, tomatoes, peppers and a potato hash. It was cool. I'm here for the drinks and I just need food to soak up the alcohol. Lol. I would certainly lean a different direction, maybe toward the chicken & waffles with mac & cheese or something like that.Value: Pretty great if you ask me. Bottomless mimosas are $25.00 and you get to drink for 3.5 hours if you get here at 9:30am. Lol. That's pretty good value. My steak & eggs were only $15.00 so that's why they were pretty mid. Lol.If you're coming for brunch you're going to love this place! I know I did and I look forward to returning next year!

This bar in San Diego is a 49ers fan bar, we came to see the game and it was lively , they had a DJ good Bay Area music! I'll for sure be coming back here for game days. they had estrella beer for $4.00 so it was worth it, they also have a different menu for breakfast,Lunch and dinner, the service was great even tho the place was PACKED! They noticed when you where about to finish your beer and will fill up your cup pretty fast. The nachos where pretty good. The beans were a bit salty but still edible lol. Parking in downtown San Diego could be sketchy specially so many homeless tents everywhere.. but there is a parking spot right across the st which was $10 for the WHOLE day!

First time here, and watching UFC fights. Gotta tell you. This is place is cool. Beer and food is great. Cory put ufc prelims on early for me. Bartender Johnny was on it. Quick service with a smile! Definitely found my UFC bar in San Diego.

Where do I begin.......oh yea with the spinning chair shot as soon as you come through the door. Mine was purchased by my gf so I returned the favor. The live music was top notch and the multiple bars ensured you didn't have to wait long to order or to get your drinks. It was a fun time and a good end to date night.

We recently stopped into Bootlegger for a bite and a beverage. Shasta waited on us and was an excellent server. We decided to split a build a burger and ordered a beer each. The burger was enormous and delicious - Thursdays they are on special and you can get as many toppings as you like with no up charges. It's a good deal. The fries were a bit disappointing because they weren't crispy enough and kind of soft/limp. It wasn't super busy the day we went but I imagine during baseball season or weekends it gets pretty crowded there. Bootlegger has a large selection of brews on top. We will definitely be back again.
