As a fellow Memphian, I of course, had to give this place a try and it did not disappoint. I'll be coming here when I feel homesick for some of my dad's BBQ for sure. The staff was incredibly friendly and I feel like compared to other BBQ places in town it was decently priced. My husband and I ordered the 3 meat plate to split which was plenty of food and we even had a little left over. We got the BBQ chicken, pulled pork, and brisket burnt ends. All the meats were fantastic, but I think the chicken ended up being my favorite, which never happens - it was just that good. For the sides, we got the mac and cheese and baked beans. The beans were ok but the mac and cheese, I will eat 5 more servings of that. Overall, definitely recommend!

Sure, here's a friendly and constructive review:A few of us from work decided to enjoy lunch at Boo and Henry's after seeing their segment on Fox 10, and we were really excited to check it out!First off, the place is incredibly decorated and has a fantastic BBQ vibe. The two large garage-style doors that open up to outdoor seating (perfect for cooler weather) are a great touch. The bar at the back is well-stocked with nearly every drink you could think of, and the large sign sharing the history of Boo and Henry is a very cool feature. The staff was kind, helpful, and open to feedback, which we really appreciated. Since the restaurant just opened, it's great to see they're taking comments seriously. That said, I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement, which I hope will be helpful:1. Ordering Process: When we walked in, we noticed a sign that said something like "Seat Yourself," so we did. However, when we asked how to order, we were told we could either go up and order or wait for a menu at our table. It might be better to pick one system. My suggestion would be to have guests order and pay upfront, then find an open table. This could simplify the process, and you could probably do away with the menus.2. Food Quality: We started with the rib tips, which were okay, but the meat seemed a little overcooked. I ordered the dry rub ribs, and while the seasoning was excellent, the ribs themselves were a bit tough and required a knife to cut through. The sides were a bit hit or miss--while the mac and cheese had good flavor, both it and the beans were served at room temperature. The iced tea had a unique taste that wasn't quite for me, so I'll probably stick to water next time.Despite these points, I'm looking forward to coming back in a few months to see how things have improved. The vibe is great, the staff is wonderful, and I wish nothing but success for Boo and Henry's!

I echo many of the other reviews. Service was great, and the restaurant itself is very welcoming, clean and looks great. We're not all that familiar with Memphis BBQ, but when I drove by recently, I mentioned it to my husband and we decided to check it out. We both decided to try to 2 meat platter, which includes jalapeno cornbread and two sides. He chose the brisket and for $3 more, the ribs, a long with beans and dirty rice. I went with the chicken sausage and smoked chicken wings with Mac & crack and potato salad.Hubby enjoyed his meal overall. I was less than thrilled. I found everything a bit dry. The chicken sausage practically crumbled when cut. Chicken is pretty lean and needed some fat or something to add moisture. The wings didn't have any smoke flavor, but I could tell they were smoked based on the color inside, but I think they were perhaps smoked for too long because there was no juiciness to them. The Mac & crack wasn't bad, but definitely needed to mix from the bottom of the bowl to get the creamy cheesiness. The potato salad had good flavor, but the potatoes were undercooked making them a bit hard. The cornbread also had good flavor - a strong taste of corn and jalapeno, but it was very dry. I think it may have been the manager who stopped by asking how it was and I was pretty honest with him, basically saying everything I said here. He did ask if there was something else I wanted instead and I assured him that no, I had eaten plenty so I was not leaving hungry at all. I hope they're able to make some adjustments to improve the food quality, because it could be a great place. We did say we'd probably be back to try something else.

New BBQ place in North Scottsdale. Unfortunately, it only earned a solid C- in my books... The pulled pork was dry, the ribs were tough and the burnt ends were not burnt nor even ends. More like dry brisket chunks than burnt ends. Pretty sure everything was cooked in an oven as I didn't see an actually smoked anywhere on the property. Those who know me, know I live by the mantra "if it needs sauce, you overcooked it." Not even sauce could save it today... I will give them credit on that they were super friendly staff and we even met the owner who came over to the table. We just didn't have it in us to tell them what we really thought about the food.

Not only is the BBQ some of the best I have ever had, the servers were amazing. My husband had the brisket plate (which was VERY generous in size) and I had the Taco special with pulled brisket (the tacos were BIG) and their coleslaw. Additionally we had a side of their jalapeño cornbread with the honey butter. Yes, there was plenty of food and we left with brisket, a taco and some corn bread to enjoy later.I also have to highly recommend trying their sauces. The hot mustard, hot bbq and also the hot vinegar bbq which was amazing on the tacos, though the verde salsa served with them was great also. We left with a bottle of the hot vinegar bbq and some of their dry rub !So if in the area, do NOT over look the chance to stop in! Almost forgot they have a full bar also!

I saw the Ch 10 weatherman visit to this place. I happened to be in the neighborhood today so wanted to try. Man, am I glad I did!Walking in, the place has a great feel. It's clean and modern but with that casual southern feel.I was greeted quickly and my waiter was back to take my order in good time.I ordered a 2 meat combo - brisket and pulled pork - along with mac n cheese and BBQ beans. I like gumbo so ordered a cup off the appetizer menu as well. It did not disappoint. The generous portions of meat were tender, juicy and had really good flavor. The bark on the beef was perfection.I didn't order anything from the bar but it looked well stocked. The place is slightly hidden right on Scottsdale road. It's well worth discovering. Maybe I'll see you there!

The decor was very nice, but the food was pretty bland. Tried the slider trio, and a brisket sandwich, and all the meats were dry with not much flavor. The coleslaw was not good at all. The waitress was nice, but as we ate, I couldn't help but notice 3 or 4 of the workers behind the counter staring at us as we ate, like we were being watched the whole time. I don't think it was intentional, but we were the only people inside so they probably had our attention on us, it just felt a little uncomfortable. It was very clean as well, just the food was underwhelming and it was expensive, as most bbq is.

I will say that the service was excellent, I found the pulled pork to be bland. Being from Memphis, I have enjoyed real Memphis barbecue since the 50's. Real Memphis barbecue has a Hickory smoked flavor. Without one of their sauces, the pork tastes like grocery store barbecue. If I go back, I will not order pulled pork. The dirty rice also tasted bland. The pecan square was good. I had my hopes up being from Memphis. Disappointing!
