First, and foremost - The Best Dinner I have ever had.Mixed Green Salad - Fresh, inviting and simple.Short Rib Beignets - To Die For! A Beignet stuffed with Braised Short Rib, brilliant.Tar Tare of Boeuf - What carnivore doesn't enjoy a good Tar TareCeci Bean Cavatelli - One of the best pasta dishes of my life.Escargot - Is it the snails that make it or the Garlic Oil you sop up with bread? Answer: Either one, just scrumptious.Ora King Salmon - Simple but the Tarragone brunne banc and caviar, and flawless cooking technique, makes this a top class seafood classic.55 Day Dry Age T-Bone Steak - Cooked perfectly, well seasoned, if you have an issue with this steak, maybe you should of stopped and McDonalds for a happy meal. This in one of the best steaks in Chicago.Roasted Mushroom - Simple and delectable.Boeuf Fat Fries - Amazing, Hot and Crispy. Not a vegan option.BoeufHaus a must visit.

Cool take on steakhouse but the market priced steak doesn't beat out the competition on taste. So first the vibe is totally different from your other venues of similar price. It's a small elevated pub feel. An elongated bar with seating on one side. You'll first notice it's emphasis on the meat when you walk in and see the butchers counter. Service was top notch and the pinneaple cocktail was refreshing. Now the steak. Some context - I eat and make a lot of steak. Specifically ribeye. Have been to all the top spots in Chicago and this one has been on my list for a while. The good - I love the dry aging, the presentation, the sauces that are paired with the steak. The 55 day dry aged ribeye was $101 at market price for 22 oz. Very much on the high end for high end spots. It was definitely good but just did not hit the type of melt in your mouth tenderness and marbling. Fat was mainly concentrated on the edges and the texture was a bit too fibrous. Yes I am being very picky but only due to the price. For $50-70 range, this would be phenomenal. Unfortunately this make this place average and not something I would seek out. The attractive attribute maybe that it's the best steakhouse away from river north/ west loop. We did go for an unusually early dinner reservation, first ones in the restaurant. So maybe I caught a bad round but who knows. Best part was the amazing chocolate sundae for dessert!

The night started off not so great, but the great server and food made the night great! I was craving dry aged steak...I know, very specific...but ever since David Burke closed its door, legit dry aged steak place is really hard to find...Heard great things about Beoufhaus for almost like a decade and finally tried it ...i still craved that taste of steak the next day. To top it off, they had the best escargot I have ever had...the freshest and the tastiest...it even beat those I have had in Europe...and our server was phenomenal with his service which made the night so much better! So what happened with that lost star? No where on their website nor resos process stated that diners should be 12+. I found out when I got the resos confirmation text the day of. And when I called to ask, they assured me that my kid would be welcomed and just that they don't have high chairs or kids menu. No issue since my kid is a steak monster! But I immediately felt being discriminated at arrival when I asked if we can be seated inside the restaurant instead of one of the tables by the door. I accepted the table since I understood the situation...but just felt like the communication could have been better about this and just be up front with us when I called...instead of setting up the expectation that we would be like other 'normal' party.

Overhyped and definitely missed the mark in terms of quality and service. Despite having a reservation, we still have to wait over half an hour to get seated. There was no apology or acknowledgement of such a long wait time. Once we got to the table, we were an inch away from the table next to us, so there was no privacy. Service was average at best. The best dishes of the night were the appetizers and the sides. The steak tartare was great and the carrots were excellent. Loved the beef fat fries too. The porterhouse steak was just ok and not the star of the evening as expected. Disappointed in the quality. The flavor was lacking. Wine list is severely overpriced for average quality bottles. Overall, the value for the money just wasn't there.

Came here to celebrate my SILs bdays and really enjoyed my experience here. The place is a bit of a laidback compared to some other steakhouses in the city (think Prime & Provisions, Swift & Sons) and honestly I think I much prefer this type of atmosphere. With that being said, the wait staff and food were really great.Food-wise we ordered:- Shortrib Beignets: Solid! Apparently one of their most popular dishes. Didn't really taste much of the jus on the side, but still yummy.- East coast oysters: Hard to really make raw oysters better as long as they're fresh and these hit the spot.- Dry Aged Porterhouse + Trio of sides (summer beans, roasted mushrooms, boeuf fat fries): Definitely the star of the show. The dry age definitely gave the steak a bit of a funk, but it was super tender and delicious. Probably one of my favorite steaks in the city, though you definitely have to pay a pretty steep amount for it. Sides were all great, too. Though I wish there were a bit bigger.- Dessert (panna cotta + sundae): I thought the panna cotta was just ok and the sundae was good. My SILs have quite the sweet tooth so they seemed to really enjoy it.All the above plus one drink for everyone totaled out to about ~$110 after tax/tip per person. Definitely on the steep side, but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a really good steak with a more laidback vibe to some of the others in the city. Great spot to celebrate a special event like a bday/anniversary/engagement celebration. Probably not great for groups bigger than 8-10 though.

I was hoping this would be a 5 star experience. Had the shrimp cocktail and brisket beignets to start- both were delicious. Then we had the rib-eye and fries, as the sides were quite limited. The place itself is well designed and while small, can fit quite a few people. Our waiter was alright, but would've expected better for such a restaurant.

This is a really special place and an amazing experience. I went here with my friend for our friendversary dinner and we had an incredible time. We got a great wine rec from our server, and ordered a combination of specials and standard menu items. It's definitely a crowded busy little spot, and not quiet at all, so more of a vibe and an experience than a major conversation spot. Even so, it felt intimate and really special. I would definitely be back for future special occasions. Everything we ate was outstanding.

We just moved to the neighborhood and couldn't be happier with our first experience at Boeufhaus.Vibes A+ We recommend sitting at the barService A+Very friendly waitstaff with - like many other reviews say - a very good knowledge of the wine and drink menus. Got a great wine rec yesterday and it made all the differenceFood A+Come for the short rib beignets, say for the French onion soup, steak frites & beef fat fries, and a surprisingly good vegetable salad I am already kind of craving again.
