Despite it's name, I would hardly call this an alehouse but we had a spectacular dinner here. More of an upscale restaurant with indian cuisine, this place had such an amazing classy pub feel and more of an upscale menu. We had a reservation at 10:30pm which is when they close so that was a super weird feeling. This is apparently normal but yeah I wouldn't recommend it as you might be the last ones dining. Sticky Date Cake: GET!!!Such an amazingly soft texture bursting with the perfect amount of sweetness and is such a great way to finish the night. It's a lot of cake so... don't try to finish this yourself. Oxtail Pot Pie: GetA wonderfully hearty and savory pot pie. It's filled with that rich beefiness of the oxtail but I'm more curious about the other ones tbh. Maybe the classic next timeTiki Masala: GET!!The shrimp was cooked perfectly and again bursting with so much flavor with each bite. A great compliment to the curry which was wonderfully spicedTartar: GETTTTTT!!!!!This was probably the highlight of my night. So clean and so fresh, combined with the bite from the pickle, the perfect crunch and vessel of the bread, and sauced all the way up... I could honestly come back just for this. Samosas: Maybe? It was a decent start but honestly skippable compared to everything else Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Value: 8/10

Armitage Alehouse has been on my list for so long that I sign up for the cancellation list every week on resy. Today was the day Cami and I finally got to see what the hype was all about. We ordered....- Beef Tartare - Delice (the creamy cheese) - wagyu smashburger- Chicken Tikka - Flourless molten chocolate cake We loved the apps. The salt and vinegar chips with the tartare was a great combo. The cheese so creamy and the gf bread had a nice buttery taste. However, the entrees were so average. The $30 Wagyu burger... skip. The Small Cheval Wagyu burger is $20 and a lot better. The Chicken Tikka, not bad but I've had better for a lil cheaper too. Happy last minute we decided to get dessert and end the dinner on a high note with the chocolate cake decadently paired with the vanilla whip cream. Service was kind of slow, we were there for 2.5 hours. The ambiance is very nice. Great for date night, sharing and potentially special occasion. However, for the hype around this place I was expecting more and while I'm definitely glad I tried it, I don't see myself waiting with my fingers crossed for another res off the waitlist.

Let me just say right off the bat to save room for dessert and order the Sticky Date Cake. (Also known as "sticky toffee pudding). It's the kind of dessert that makes you moan a little when you take your first bite. With that out of the way, we ordered the Steak Anchovy Tartare and loved it. The Naan was perfectly soft and so good with the Whipped Feta. They have several potpie options but only serve two a day. I ordered the Heritage Chicken potpie and it was one of the best pot pies I've ever eaten. -The bone marrow put it over the top. He ordered the Tikka Masala and while I certainly liked it, I prefer many Indian restaurants' tikka masala over this one. After drinking way way too much on a recent vacay, I decided to order an n/a drink here. The Citrus Ritual was perfectly refreshing on a hot day. I'll have to go back when I'm drinking again and try one of their cocktails. You can only get a reservation within a 14 day advancement and times fill up pretty fast. I got a same-day reservation, but most of the times I've tried to get reservations, it's always been booked aside from 9:30pm timeslots. Worth the effort though.

As luck would have it, we came to chicago on one of the most beautiful weekends. The sun was shining and the weather was a blissful 78 degrees, so we decided to make it an outside brunch kind of day. The inside however is really cool, and has a lot of character, looking a lot like a historic British pub. They were kind enough to find room for us outside without a reservation. We ordered a bottle of brut and juices for mimosas. Our server was really nice and attentive. The avocado toast was amazing. I'm not wowed by avocado toast very often and I was wowed. The sourdough bread was incredible, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and they used great sea salt on top. Plus, it was huge. They were also kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert for hubby's birthday. Very unique sorbet with an icing like topping poured on.

I can't say enough good things about Armitage Alehouse. I went there with four friends, and we had an absolute blast. The food and service were exceptional.Ambiance:The ambiance follows the trend of all Hogsalt-owned restaurants and bars, featuring a dark, romantic, and cozy vibe. The Armitage Alehouse made me feel like I was in an upscale pub.Service:The service was wonderful, and our waiter was very attentive.Food:We ordered a lot, starting with the Délice de Bourgogne & Truffle Honey (triple cream, soft-ripened cheese, country sourdough toast). It was incredibly tasty. I had the Peppercorn Steak Frites (piquant peppercorn cognac sauce), served with fries and aioli. So good!Dessert:The star of the night was dessert. We had the Sticky Date Cake (date crumble, brown butter gelato, toffee sauce) - honestly, mind-blowing.Additional Notes:We had some allergies at the table, and our server and the restaurant took this very seriously, which was really nice to see. Special accommodations were made for our friend with a gluten allergy.I already have reservations to go there again!

Lovely experience at AAH. The decor is mesmerizing and the back room with its velvet walls makes for a great spot for conversations, drinks and some bites. The service for us was prompt and efficient, without any hassle or issues of any kind. You must reserve in advance though otherwise you'll wait like 1-2 hours. We really liked the drinks and the food! Well seasoned and high quality. Will surely return.

**4.5 Stars**Well, now I know why it's so hard to get a reservation here! From the unique decor and inventive cocktails, through the entrees and dessert, our dining experience at Armitage Alehouse was one of the most memorable of 2024!AA really does give the vibe of a hip British pub mixed with a speakeasy. In fact, it reminds me quite a bit of one of my favorite spots in Denver, Williams & Graham, which has a similar vibe with just as inventive a menu and kitschy a design. The menu has enough variety for everyone, but also doesn't stray too far from the concept. And everything is done very well. The 100 Year Old Cigar cocktail was excellent, kind of like a smokey rum old fashioned, executed extremely well with perfect balance. It's a cocktail that's good for all seasons, and I can see why it's been a staple (along with just about all of the menu) since day one. The charred naan with green chutney yogurt rivaled the best naan at our favorite Indian restaurants around the city, chewy and delicious in the best ways. The same could be said of the tikka masala, just layers and layers of exciting flavors and spices, pretty perfect. I was actually struggling with what to pick for my main, as there's a bunch of good choices. For reference, I am a pescatarian and almost never eat red meat, sticking to a salmon/tofu sort of protein diet for dinner at home (occasionally I'll get chicken when we're out). So, despite the intrigue of the two available pot pies, I was indecisive due to some dishes being similar to what I eat at home. The veggie patty burger looked enticing, but $26 for a non-house made burger (the Wagyu certainly is, but why am I forced to pay that price for a veggie patty) seemed absurd. I went with the prime rib sandwich, a play on a cheesesteak with jus, and my god am I glad I did. It was excellent, from the butter and toast on the bread to the perfectly sliced and tender beef. Light additions of peppers and a spread balanced it out perfectly - as someone who indulges in something like that once a year at most, it already has me thinking about when we can get there next. Outstanding. Talk about outstanding, I'm not sure there's a better dessert in Chicago than that sticky date cake. A great portion with a healthy scoop of ice cream, toppings, and that incredible toffee sauce - we will definitely be back just for this and a late night cocktail. So, why not 5 stars? Well, as briefly mentioned above, the prices are pretty high, which is to be expected. The quality is there, but there are limited options for non meat eaters (why not a veggie pot pie?!). And sandwiches don't come with fries, they're an extra $10, and while they're good, that's a lot. Also, while the inside is fun and funky and wonderful, it is unbelievably cramped. You'll use all your former industry vocabulary (Corner! Behind!) just trying to navigate from the front door to the bathroom, there are servers and staff everywhere and it's kind of a miracle there weren't any collisions. That said, the staff is super knowledgeable and attentive, and the food truly rivals anywhere else in the city. An excellent, excellent experience top to bottom.

I'd tried to get reservations to Armitage Alehouse the last couple times I visited Chicago, to no avail. My daughter and I decided to visit for lunch, and so arrived shortly after it opened. We were seated at a table in the bar area, with 2 leather wing chairs. So comfy! For lunch, my daughter selected the chicken pot pie, and I chose the fish & chips. Both were excellent! This is a stunningly beautiful restaurant, and service was excellent. Will definitely visit again!

Lived up to the hype.We were a part of 2 and walked in on Saturday evening. We put our name down and after 20-30 min, we were seated. The meat pie - 10/10. Must have. It's savory, crispy, creamy ... all at once. The curry was a tangier than ones at Indian restaurants. The naan appetizer was a perfect balance to the tangy curry.

Chicago's upscale British style pub where cuisine of England meets India. From the owners of Au Cheval comes this Indian and British restaurant with a vintage setting. The look of this place is incredible - one of the most aesthetically charming places I've ever been to. You'll need to hound their reservations page to snag one and but it's well worth it.We ordered the following:0.Spiced Lamb Samosa0.Chicken Breast Tikka Masala0.Tandoori Style Chicken0.Charred Naan Bread + Green Chutney YogurtFOR DESSERT : The sticky date pudding was out of this world. It tastes very similar to a sticky toffee pudding if you've ever had one. The cake is sweet with a nice chewy composition and pairs very well with the ice cream and the hint of salt from the white crystals on the cake. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Make sure you give this restaurant a try! You will enjoy each bite!!
