Bocca Bella Cafe & Bistro

Went last night for the first time and was not disappointed ! Wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly . Our waiter was a senior at Lasell! The cappuccino martini was to die for (bartender was very talented and friendly). The food was excellent - pasta cooked just right and Marsala sauce really tasty!

Excellent. Very small neighborhood restaurant. Love these small places. No large parties - they don't have the space. About 26 at tables and 6 at the bar. Decent wine selection. We had a bottle of Torrebruna Sangiovese that was very good. Food: yum. Raviolis a la vodka and the house special parmigiana (I I picked my go to veal) it was delicious. And an espresso to conclude the meal. Oh yes. The locals are very lucky to have this place.

I have been here twice now and both times the food and the service have been excellent! Their red sauce (aka. gravy) is delicious. Tip: Save some bread to mop it up at the end of the meal! The first time I ordered the lasagna, which came close to homemade. Okay, if I'm being honest, exceeded my homemade. The second time, I ordered the veal parmigiana special which came with a soup or salad. I opted for the salad of mesclun greens. The salad came only with greens so next time I'll order the chopped salad. The veal was moist and tender. The first visit ended with cake because it was the bartender's birthday. The second visit ended with the chocolate layer cake which was good but nothing special. For both visits, my dinner partner ordered the shrimp parmigiana which he proclaimed heavenly. The restaurant is small with a few seats at the bar. Both times we went we were seated right away with no wait, but we were there later in the evening. With drinks and dessert we paid around $86 plus tip, which I feel is very reasonable for the excellent food and service. Overall, this is a wonderful choice for a date night or any time you're craving a great meal!

I wasn't expecting much from the small neighborhood joint. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was not too busy. The ambience was very family friendly and the food was really delicious. They also had excellent olive oil with bread as a starter. I got the steak tips and Caesar salad and it was mixed perfection. Definitely come again.

Super attentive staff, nice ice-cold drinks and the option to get lunch items or dinner items at dinner time! I wish the menu were bigger because their food's so good. Small place to dine so don't bring a big party there.

authentic, very kind and wonderful service. A small Italian kitchen where you feel like family when you walk in the door and the marinara sauce is made from scratch and homemade. I had the veal parmigiana but everything i had was amazing. Join the family. You won't be disappointed. Can wait to go again upon our next visit to Newton. Love this place! The outside patio is amazing. Specials are always so good and hard to choose just one! Had a great eggplant parm, rigatoni bolognese, and capped off with espresso martinis. I've gone so many times the wait staff is attentive and so friendly! Love it here feels like family!

locally owned and operated Italian restaurant is the best. In all of the years that I have been ordering at Bocca Bella, I have always been extremely pleased with the food and the service.IMO their eggplant Parmesan, which is thinly sliced and lightly prepared is without a doubt the best I have ever had. Many orders come with a choice of soup or salad and plenty of bread and extra cheese

Awful through and through. Staff was disorganized, slow, incompetent and rude. Food was horrific, cooked terribly and some of it seems like it was premade and probably microwaved. Interior was also run down, some parts are a bit dangerous. Stay far away.
