Bob's House of Crabs

OMG! I just seriously pillaged and destroyed a $4.00 sauteed crab from this place. Ok, I've been on my daughter and son in law to go get me some crabs since Friday and they blew me off. I went online to find someplace to deliver me some Bob's crabs and finally found Postmates. My Postmates driver was on it! I just got my crabs and I totally destroyed one of the sauteed ones. Only because it's so late, I don't have time to devour the other one. I also got four of the $3.00 cooked crabs and ate one of the claws...AWESOME! I can't wait till tomorrow when I have time to eat the rest. Ok, the delivery charges and service charges are outrageous, but I REALLY craved some good crabs so I paid for it but I am savoring every inch of these delicious crabs. I can't go on enough about them. There are places that are closer to me in the neighborhood but they cook dead crabs sometimes and then you get mushy disgusting mess. NEVER that with Bob's. I hope they continue to do business and sate my crabs cravings! YOU GO Bob!

The seafood is great in flavor and overall but the customer service is horrible. There's no way someone should place an online order at 4:55pm and doesn't receive food until 7:45pm. No way. That was my experience. I spoke with one of the owners (woman with gray wavy shoulder length hair) and expressed my disdain. She stated that they had run out of crabs but none of the staff members communicated this to anyone standing in line. No discount was given but I was told she gave me the next larger size crab( the $4 priced crabs instead of the $3). Don't want to experience that ever again. I would much rather be a patron of a business that respects my time and has better customer service.

Best in the city! Been going for 20 years. LONG LINES. Very long. Bring extreme patience. You won't be disappointed. Lol

The food was really good. Crabs were well seasoned and good sized. Online ordering is the game changer. But if you're like me and didn't have the advance time to order online, know that the wait was crazy. When I walked up, the line was outside into the parking lot, and it slowly snaked its way into and through the restaurant. After being in that line for 25 to 30 minutes, I had to then go outside and wait for my steamed platter to be prepared, which took about another 20-25 minutes. So, it was not a quick trip, but it did come in in the clutch when my favorite crabs place was closed, because this one has really late hours.

The 2 stars is for service and convenience. Their crabs are great, but today I decided they are not worth the hassle. This is the 3rd time I drove from 30 minutes away and they were closed. I feel like I am pretty intelligent but I can't find their hours any where and they don't answer the phone if they are not open (even if folks are in there). No machine with information...nothing. There are no hours posted outside the establishment either. In addition online ordering is a hot mess. I ended up spending $25 extra dollars because the menu is hard to understand.The sad part is none of this will probably change because they make so much money and have a large clientele that don't care about service....there is no motivation to change.I will look for a spot closer to home, with more consistent hours.

Yummy. Love the juicy blue crabs. Alaskan platters are good too. Seafood salad is the best and omg don't forget to ask for the fruit punch or homemade iced tea!

Great experience here! My sister and I came here after a horrible experience at the Crab & Claw on Ogontz Ave. You can see my review of them here on yelp. In short, do NOT spend your money at Crab & Claw. At Bob's, we were buying 2 bushels of males costing about $300 in total. They sorted the crabs in front of us to make sure they were live and then carried them to the car for us. Great service! Friendly guys. Ok sized crabs. Spend your money in a place that respects the community in which they serve.

The food is great and I would come back again but they have to go back to smaller potatoes cause I've had a few platters with them not fully cooked all the way

Searching for some seafood we tried several places these past few months.49th and Girard Ave.70th Elmwood Ave..SWMr.Crabs..Truck19th and Carpenter st.We finally Got the fire bomb crabs of the summer.Bob's Crab House for the WINCajun shrimp spices or mildHalf bushel crabs...spicey mild3 dollar crabs so worth it

The customer service is not the best. I had food missing that I did not discover wasn't in my bag until I got home (that I was charged for). I called Bob's for over 1 hour to let them know my food wasn't in the bag and to no avail, no one answered the phone. The food I did receive was just ok this time. Not enough seasoning and the food was just one notch above room temp. In the future, I will drive to NJ or Delaware before I eat here again! Check your order before you leave!!
