Blue Jay's

Every neighborhood should have a Blue Jay's. I stopped by here to grab a sandwich when driving through Dedham, and so happy I found it! The owner was so pleasant, patient as I took my time deciding what I wanted, and made me a delicious classic tuna sandwich. This is a no frills type of place. Good food, good people and the type of place that will put a smile on your face just walking in

I worked at Blue Jay in the summer of 1985, taking orders and making subs. The counter and food prep areas were always immaculate and George was like a well-oiled machine, cooking and cleaning up while chatting with customers. Such a happy surprise to see that the place is still going strong. I'll have to stop in the next time I'm in Dedham. Best wishes to you George! (I hope you remember me!) Kim

Hidden gem! The sandwiches and wraps are great and the owner is such a nice guy. Good place for lunch!

Authentic small town breakfast joint. Food is great and delicious. Had the Breakfast Sandwich and pancakes. Wonderful people and excellent t service.

Great breakfast sandwich and very pleasant place! An old school short order situation complete with old photos on the wall and a cheerful parade of regulars coming through for their usual.

Very old school, which is not my usual preference. But after 20 years of living several blocks away, I dropped in for a takeout Italian sub because my usual places were closed. Just one older gentleman busily working the counter and grill. Despite the juggling, he was pleasant, attentive and efficient. My sub was better than most sub shops and very reasonable price (especially if you pay with cash not credit,). Peeking behind the counter to his food prep and cooking space, it looked neat and clean (even if the premises have a well-worn appearance.).

This place is fantastic. A little endearing time machine back Into the past. The owner is very kind, patient and clearly takes a lot of pride in maintaining this shoppe. Prices are fair, food is good and the atmosphere is great as well. Big fan

I worked in the area for several months. Blue Jay's became our regular lunch spot. Owner George is amazing. They put out great food in a homey, no frills but almost perfect place. When travel is part of your work... this is the kind of place that you hope you find.

I was in town for work and looked up the best rated lunch place in the area and this place came up and i'm so glad it did. I read the reviews and did not hesitate. I got a small steak and cheese with ketchup and mayo and it has been added to my top 3. I'm a big steak and cheese fan and eat it often, but this one was special. The meat was seasoned perfectly. Will definitely be back!

I like blue jays a lot. A classic and friendly breakfast and lunch spot that every neighborhood needs. My one criticism is that they really need to stock fresher tomatoes -- the quality of the tomatoes recently has honestly been poor. They or break a sandwich, especially in the summer.
