Bloomsday was one of the 27 bars that made the cut on USA Today's "Bars of the Year for 2024" list.My first question was what credibility does USA Today have when it comes to making a "Bars of the Year" list? USA Today not in the trenches like that smh.According to our robot friends (ChatGPT), there are 60k-70k bars in the US. Trying to narrow that down to 27 seems a bit ridiculous to me. It's giving "ESPNs top 100 athletes of the 21st century" list. They are clearly just trying to stir up some controversy to get their clicks and readership up. Yeah, you got more engagement but at what cost? How much is your soul worth? But to be fair, here I am mentioning both lists so they are doing their job lmao. Y'all won... Okay I'm yapping, but I walked into Bloomsdale hella skeptical. We walked through the cobblestone streets of South Philly and entered an ultra inviting interior. Dim lighting with candles at every table, exposed white brick on the walls, white marble tables, clean wooden floors, vintage wooden chairs, a wood burning fireplace, etc.We sat and within the first 10 minutes I already shazam'd 2 songs. I lowkey rarely shazam songs anymore, so that holds weight with me idk. Playlist was hittin. Our waitress was super engaging and jawning with us, and was great at recommending the natural wines without being too serious. I honestly can't believe I didn't get her name cuz I really want to shout her out.For food we went with the Lemon Pepper Wings, Patatas Bravas, Wedge Salad, Dry-Aged Burger, and Steak Frites.Honestly, all the food for me was a solid 8/10. Really good food, but not great. Nothing blew me away. Although my girlfriend will be mad reading this because she LOVED her burger so I gotta shout that out. This glass of orange wine I had though... my goodness. It was the best glass of wine I've had in a MINUTE. It was a natural biodynamic wine from Swartland, South Africa. Idk what "natural" or "biodynamic" wine really is, but I sound so sophisticated saying it so Imma keep running with it.All in all, top 27? Hell nah, but the vibes and wine in here are sensational. I will be back for my natural biodynamic wine from South Africa. I only drink biodynamic wine now... you wouldn't get it.Ig @jnov_Tiktok @jnov_reviews

I came here with friends to pre-game before a concert and it is so cute! I love the color scheme and how the cafe looks like it's on a street in a storybook. The staff met us with smiles time we hit the door and we were seated quickly. We got there around happy hour time, so the place was filling up quickly.I started with a cocktail that was light and sweet. We tried some oysters and a seafood dip as appetizers. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and some potatoes as my entree. The wings were so big I couldn't finish them all but they were tasty.I followed things up with a glass of orange wine and loved it. I'd definitely come back to try more drinks and sit at the bar.

Really loved the vibe of this restaurant and thought they had a great menu. The service was really nice and everything came out fairly quick. I like the seasonal menu options and recommend the fish & chips. Only slight feedback was we were asked if we wanted more bread and then were charged for it without realizing it was extra, which is on us for not asking. It wasn't expensive so no big deal but just would've liked to be told it's extra when asked in the future! Overall really liked this place

Really cute place, supposed to be a wine bar? I saw a wall of wines and a wine cellar in the back. The reviews were nice for brunch so we came in hungry hoping for good brunch food, but came disappointed...The appetizers were mainly canned goods ("conservas" as they called it), I thought they would at least spin it up a bit while serving in a restaurant, but they served straight out of the sardine can with a side of greens... definitely not worth the price. The potato hash was decent tasting, not the best looking, a bit too salty, but flavor was there. The mushroom sandwich was very mushy and not much flavor other than the earthy mushroom... (even for a mushroom lover this is not the best execution). The salmon bagel was crispy but very dry, not much flavor, had to "borrow" the black bean sauce from the potato hash...

One of my new favorite places in Philly, and all I did was sit and drink an iced chai at the bar on a beautiful Saturday morning. Their brunch program and menu is totally underrated (yes I do see the many other 5 star reviews...I more mean I hear about it less around town) and the space itself is completely gorgeous and well thought out. Bonus? They have a pastry and coffee window on Stamper. Bonus bonus? They have a wonderful wine shop that features natty wines from small producers and farms. Bonus bonus BONUS? The staff here is super down to earth, friendly, and the vibes are just very good.As you can imagine my chai was delightful. I love slow mornings walking around a new neighborhood and finding treasures. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked SO good - especially the breakfast sandwich that comes on a massive brioche bun. I can't wait to go try their entire menu and am grateful I stumbled upon this fantastic spot.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and waited about 20 min for two people. The coffee was great and the pastries looked delicious! I got the quiche and salad -- the quiche is actually quite big and it was light and fluffy, however it was a lot of quiche so by the end I was a bit egg-ed out. I think next time I will get one of their bowls instead!

We came for my friends birthday brunch and rented the wine nook! That was a fun experience and the drinks were so good. Overall, the menu was kind of small for brunch and wasn't my fave. Asked to make some basic substitutions for my meal and they weren't able to do that.
