This neighborhood coffee spot consistently serves top-notch beverages, boasting excellent quality and freshly made oat milk in-house. While seating can be limited due to its popularity, the friendly staff and complimentary water station enhance the experience. Additionally, their selection of healthy food options adds to the appeal. Side note: restroom access requires a code from the staff. Over all the aesthetics of the restaurant is nice and I love their cups for the hot coffees and teas; friendly staff. Definitely coming back!

Nice spot in the Montrose area. Had the Dos Tacos, one filled with egg and and potatoes and the other egg and chorizo with a side of salsa verde and a Cortado. The tacos were delivered to my table nice and piping hot. They had good flavor and I enjoyed every bite( I think a bit too much). The Cortado had a mellow flavor profile with not acidic aftertaste and no sugars added. Almost missed the location so for you Yelpers and adventures, It is across from the Montrose Food truck yard and parking is in the rear.

Came in on a Monday and it wasn't too busy. Ordered some breakfast tacos and a drip. Coffee was really good, you can tell they use quality beans and it's not weak. The breakfast tacos were also just what I needed. The tortillas were very soft and the salsa was spicy! Will definitely come back to try the homemade biscuits!

I got recommended to Blacksmith for their great food options and coffee! Me being the huge coffee connoisseur I am, I had to check it out. Blacksmith is in Montrose with so much to do around. The cafe has a very quaint space with many windows. A great place to get a bite or drink with a friend or just study to get some homework done. The baristas were super friendly and helpful. All of their pastries are made fresh by a baker made just for Blacksmith, which is a cool concept! I got the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and they were so good! I can tell it was made with quality ingredients and the portion was good. I will say that the salsa verde that comes with it is spicyyyy. The tacos were fantastic too, it's served with one chorizo and one with beans and eggs. The coffee was also super tasty and the latte art made it all the better. I also took the caramel bourbon latte to go and that one was great as well. Enjoyed my time at Blacksmith and will be back!

Blacksmith has become a quick favorite after my recent move to Houston. Ambience is calm, and cozy. Coffee is delicious, staff are kind. Couldn't ask for much more!I haven't tried their food offerings yet, but my friend ordered one of their croissant breakfast sandwiches that looked divine. She said it was really good, so keep an eye on the food menu here too!I've ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk the last few times I've been, and it's been consistently amazing. Will absolutely be back for more! :)

One of my favorite coffee shops! Get: biscuit, silver platter chilaquiles, Valrhona mocha, iced vanilla latte, speciality seasonal drinks Avoid: super busy Saturday and Sunday morning (you will have to wait in line) I love this coffee shop! The coffee and espresso have such an incredible flavor and minimal acidity, making their coffee drinks delicious! For breakfast, I love the silver platter chilaquiles (the salsa is SUPERB) or scratch square biscuits with crème fraiche and preserves (the biscuits are fluffy and flavorful while not being dry at all). The coffee shop is a bit small, so this is not a good spot for large groups but for small groups it's perfect! The drinks and food are incredible.

Ahhhhh Blacksmith...needs no introduction, cause if you know good coffee in Houston, you know Blacksmith. A Montrose Saturday morning staple inconveniently located on the busy street Westheimer, actually has tons of parking in the back, so don't let that hinder you from stopping in. Our top choices are always the (any flavor) latte, cortado, flat white, and the bacon egg and cheese croissant. So fire!! This place has come a long way, and it's been so amazing seeing it grow and evolve over the years.

Vibe- This is a dope coffee shop in Montrose with plenty of outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating, I counted about 10 tables (each with 2-3 seats) and a bar against the wall with 5 bar stools. Customer service- Great, the barista was very pleasant! Food/drinks- I went with a hot matcha latte with oatmilk and I got tacos with potatoes, avocado and beans, everything was delish!!Parking- There's a pretty decent size lot behind the shop and you can actually enter the shop from the back lot.

Food: so so so good. they get the breakfast basics oh so right. The twists and interpretations are pleasant surprises NOT pretentious. I am holding myself back from returning 3 days in a row.Service: i was less than impressed with the service my first visit. I regularly go to another coffee shop (Urban Brew) that sells some items from Blacksmith's pastry offerings, when I asked about it, I was coolly off put. The cashier/server didn't share the selection available nor take the time to introduce or upsell any more than the items I specifically requested. That part of the visit was unsatisfactory. The second visit, I came in for coffee and breakfast with a companion. The service was stellar. We were warmly greeted, patiently waited upon and we'll attended throughout the entire meal. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful and the service the second time around enhanced the meal experience. The food was really tasty, I had to hold back from getting the same thing the next visit the next day!The ambience wasn't much to mention. It's quaint, quiet and comfortable. A bit austere but you can enjoy coffee, conversation and a nice quiet energy anytime throughout the day.I will visit again, the food was excellent. It was a nice experience but I will still go out of my way for my coffee at my regular shoppe.

I came to Blacksmith a few years ago. It was a nice little cozy spot tucked away on a corner. The front of the building seemed to be under construction. Parking was in the back. The ambiance inside had the feel of a study hall. Hipster vibes. It was quiet and not a lot of conversations in the air. The wait in line was a bit long. After ordering I sat down. The seating felt a little awkward and tables felt really close. Not an issue but an observation nonetheless. I sampled the Vietnamese Steak and Eggs, Smoked Salmon Dill Scramble, Biscuit with cream fraiche and jam and Silver Platter Chilaquiles. Of the four, I preferred the Smoked Salmon Dill Scramble. The salmon had a great smokey flavor and the eggs were fluffy. It was a good combination. The biscuit was delicious! The Vietnamese steak and eggs were not bad but if you've had bò né at a Vietnamese restaurant in Houston, then you know this is not the same. Very good but not great. Still not a bad dish. The chilaquiles did leave something to be desired. They tasted good but just not what I'd expect from chilaquiles in an authentic Mexican restaurant. It was probably my least favorite of everything I ate there. Everything tasted good for a neighborhood cafe. The coffee was really good. Nice and strong! I enjoyed it. If you're looking for a quiet place to chill or just relax while drinking coffee, this is a great place to do it.
