This is my go-to place for any and every occasion! We usually enjoy the dining rooms for family meals. For date nights or just sitting solo, I prefer the bar with more personalized service. Abagail makes a great margarita and espresso martini! I enjoy stopping in just for a drink & dessert. For brunch, my favorite meal is an omelette with hollandaise sauce on the side. My kids love the pancakes. Salads are my lunch of choice usually. Shrimp with zoodles was another one of my favorite main entrees though I'm not sure they still offer this. Shrimp & grits were great in lieu of the zucchini shrimp. For dessert, the tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake & tuxedo cake are my favorites. My mom always enjoyed their hummingbird cake.

Here are my experiences on various dates at Black Walnut Cafe:November 16, 20, 22, 24, 27, and December 05:Working in hospitality allows you to understand someone else's perspective, whether you're in the service or tech industry. Hospitality acts as a buffer against stress, boredom, or exhaustion, providing enjoyment and relaxation that replaces other emotions from the day. In this industry, attention to detail, people, and the atmosphere is crucial. As many have experienced stellar or not-so-stellar customer service, the attitude plays a contagious role. Greeting, smiling, and getting to know guests matter.November 16, 2023:Visited Black Walnut Cafe Cinco Ranch, greeted by GM Doug with a contagious smile. Crystal welcomed us at the bar. Despite initially declining a menu, she insisted, displaying attention to detail. Every order was satisfying.November 20, 2023:Visited again, spoke to Doug, who agreed to accommodate a party of 25 for my birthday brunch. Ordered mimosas, chicken and waffles, and chorizo plate. Food and hospitality was okay.November 24, 2023 (Birthday):Doug greeted and escorted us to the patio. Abigail at the bar made mimosas; I requested an espresso martini with specific milk requirements. Abigail requested another bartender to remake the drink, and the bartender, unaware of the significance, added a fourth coffee bean for happiness. Despite a large party, warm food, and minor issues, the experience was positive.December 05, 2023:Visited in the evening, encountered issues with Abigail regarding a mimosa carafe. Although I felt Doug was dismissive he remade the drink. Witnessed inconsistent measurements and cleanliness issues. The overall hospitality experience was lacking, leaving me uncomfortable. Subsequently, we extended our night to Chuy's, enjoying a more favorable atmosphere, drink, and food.

Despite being very busy on weekends, service is quick. Today around noon walked in as a party for 8. A nice gentleman helped us out gather a table outside, the wait was probably like 15 minutes tops. No rush either, because it gave us time to look over the menu and order. I like the set up how you walk in order and sit down till your order is ready. Makes the process easier, the outside patio was nice and especially with today's weather. The staff just were amazing today, very impressed. Now onto the food, I have the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The only thing is that as we all ordered separately but one after the other my food came out first. Bummer because I don't like eating without everyone else having their plate yet. So, I ordered the coleslaw on the side because the cashier actually suggested it because it could cause the bun to become soggy. Definitely recommend. I love a sweet slaw, was up there for me. The chicken was not spicy, I expected it to be on the spicer side from past experience. Fries were mediocre but delish.

Black Walnut for lunch was nice! The food is pretty consistent. I wouldn't say it's fine dining but I do enjoy coming here for the occasional lunch on a weekday or brunch on a weekend. Today I tried their new three course meal special (sorry I didn't take a picture of the dessert). The crawfish Queso was really good! 7/10 Creamy and the crawfish wasn't over cooked. I'd give the chicken parm a 5/10 so nothing to write home about but again, this isn't your finest dining spot. However, my friend's pot roast grilled cheese did look amazing and she said it was fantastic. Service is counter and I didn't think it stood out but this isn't a full service place. I would give this place a little makeover if I were the owner because I think the ambiance left a lot to be desired. For as much natural light as the place gets, the plain Jane tables and chairs weren't very comfy or inviting. You get what you expect here. There is a patio with heaters.

First, let me say that we have been coming here for years, mainly for their Eggs Benedict (lobster, Nashville chicken, but the old salmon was my favorite) and the grits. Recently though, we've noticed the portions getting smaller and the quality of the food declining. The grits are now more watery and the size of the Eggs Benedict are substantially smaller than I remember. This has happened a couple of times now, so I'm guessing shrinkflation has gotten to them too. If this place was the same price as Denny's or IHOP, i would understand. However, the price being as high per dish as it is, I have started to recommend to others to spend their breakfast dollars elsewhere.

Absolutely a great choice for dining w kids. This restaurant is cozy, great variety of food for picky palates and service is phenomenal. Haven't been to BW since the SL location closed down years ago. We tried this for brunch one day, and most recently for dinner. Everyone was happy with their meals. Gelato and desserts are not to be missed. Definitely recommend!

Black Walnut Cafe was exactly what I needed--- a simple breakfast without all of the extras. The mimosa flight was the perfect morning starter. The bacon deviled eggs were very tasty and not your typical deviled eggs. This is one of this restaurants where you pay for your food upfront and then it's brought to the table. Because of this, the pricing seemed a little more expensive than the norm. Overall, it was a solid experience and I'd be open to trying it again.

Black Walnut Cafe is an excellent dining spot that I have been frequenting for quite some time now. One of the standout features of this place is their impeccable customer service. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home. They go above and beyond to ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Now, let's talk about the food. I must say that I am a huge fan of the tomato basil soup. It is simply outstanding! The soup is creamy, flavorful, and has the perfect balance of spices. It's my go-to dish every time I visit Black Walnut Cafe. However, it's not just the soup that's great - every dish on the menu is top-notch. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you'll find something delicious to suit your taste buds.In conclusion, Black Walnut Cafe is a fantastic spot to enjoy a satisfying meal. The customer service is top-notch, and the food is simply delicious. If you haven't yet visited this restaurant, I highly recommend it - and don't forget to try the tomato basil soup!

I took my spouse here for Father's Day this year since then he's returned multiple times to enjoy the steak and eggs dish. We love the walk up & order situation, still haven't tried the boozy shakes yet but looking forward to them. AMust try if you're looking for breakfast or brunch but get there early it can get pretty crowded. Service is ok.
