Great food, professional customer service, tasty birria....superb food truck. Don't' forget to try the strawberry lemonade.

This truck is sooo good, I may have a slight addiction. I love their strawberry lemonade!!! My favorite is the mulita and the choriqueso! They are a good truck that sets up outside of the parking lot of Kroger and the AMC movie theatre.

Kindness, great food, great service.I visited Birrieria el Compadre about a month ago. I arrived at the truck like 10 minutes, maybe even 5 minutes until they closed and as I was pulling up their lights cut off. I hopped out of my car and rushed up to the window apologizing for arriving so close to closing time. They were so kind and assured me my timing was just fine bc they were still open. They also advised that their lights had cut off on their own due to an electrical outage. I ordered their Birria ramen and 1 steak taco. The birria was slightly bland but it left enough room for me to fix the seasoning up perfectly and also to ensure it didn't have too much salt. The steak taco was very delicious. Meat nice and tender, perfectly seasoned. Yum. I'd gladly return to this food truck. I've gotta eat another one of those steak tacos and their truck is also a lot closer to me than the other two spots I was going to for birria ramen.

I'm a little late to the birria party, but I finally tried birria tacos for the first time today! I searched for places on Yelp and came across Birrieria El Compadre. With such good reviews, I decided to try it out.They are located in the Kroger parking lot right next to KFC. It looks like they've upgraded their food truck as this one is larger than the red one in old photos. There were a few cars parked in front of the truck, but they weren't very busy. I explained to the gentleman that it was my first time ordering birria tacos. He suggested I do the Quesotacos which is one of his best sellers. They come with four crispy corn tortillas, cheese, and beef. He asked if I wanted cilantro and onions on the tacos or on the side. I LOVE cilantro and onions so I told him to put it all over the tacos lol. The order of 4 tacos comes with the consommé (beef broth). He said I could order 2 or 3, but I would have to pay separately for the consommé. It's not birria without the consommé as far as I'm concerned, so I went ahead and did 4 tacos. The order came out to $12.99. They gave me a pager and let me know they would page me when the order was ready. It was so hot outside and I did not see any tables or chairs to sit at, so I was happy to be able to take the pager and wait in my car. As I was waiting, a few other cars drove up to place orders. It took a few minutes for my food, but the wait wasn't too long. When I went to pick up the order, the woman handed me the tacos and a separate cup for the consommé. The cup is about 4 or 6 oz which was a bit larger than I was expecting. It fit nicely in my cup holder and survived the car ride home lol. Since this is my first birria experience, I don't have anything to compare it to. I will say that Birrieria El Compadre has definitely set the bar. The consommé is very flavorful! It's seasoned well, but not overly salty. At first I was dipping my tacos in it, but eventually I just started pouring it on the tacos lol. The beef is very tender and flavorful. The diced onions and cilantro give it a nice flavor. The tacos came with sliced limes, marinated sliced purple onions, red sauce, and green sauce. The red sauce was way too spicy and I unfortunately couldn't eat it. The green sauce was more mild and was very flavorful. The melted cheese in the taco was so good! All of the flavors were delicious! The tacos are larger than they look. I ate two, took a break, then went back for the third one. I still have one more left that may or may not get eaten later this evening. I almost forgot to mention that they take cards now so no need to get cash! I'm actually not sure if they take cash still or only cards. They have birria grilled cheese and birria ramen, so I'm going to need to make that happen soon.

No need to look elsewhere for some delicious queso birria tacos! We ordered the 4 birria tacos. Came with pickled onions, salsa & consome. Tacos were made to order, shell was crispy, meat was tender & juicy, & consome was on point. So flavorful salsa was not needed, just consome was good enough. Service was quick & pricing was fair. Parking lot where food truck was located was clean & in a good, safe area. Highly recommend, we will be returning!

You will never find tastier birria/consome in Houston. Trust me!! Absolutely mouthwatering!

Great food! We had Birria grilled cheese which was delicious! We also ordered birria tacos - 2 flour and 2 corn. Everything tasted amazing! We will definitely be back. Service was friendly. They accept cash or card. Located in the Kroger parking lot near AMC movie theater.

Food truck, a busy one at that. Their birria is delish. We got the Pizzadilla and the birria taco plate. I didn't care much for the tacos, esp bc they were fried and hard, but the Pizzadilla was off the chain fabulous!!!--def enough for 3 people easy. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is bc of their consommé, it was salty, brown, and lacking any spice. I'm used to it being red, spicy, with all sorts of flavors and peppers in it. I'm also a fan of the tortillas being swiped in the consommé so they are red too--not done here.BUT---GET THE PIZZADILLA!!! It's the shiz!!!

This place has incredible tacos and was recommended by a friend! The tacos tasted delicious and we will definitely be back! The food is flavorful and the service was excellent! If you haven't checked out this food truck, definitely do so!
