Billy's Sub Shop

This neighborhood restaurant is my go to breakfast spot. The staff are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast is always served up quickly and with love.It's located near a hotel so there are always different languages being spoken by customers. It's fun watching people from other countries enjoying American Breakfast.Places like this are disappearing in front of our eyes but Billy's seems to be going strong. They know their niche and they do it well.

Billy's Sub Shop holds a special place in my heart. My friends and I visited Boston in 2022 and loved this joint. When I recently visited in Oct 2024 I had to go back. This place is a true Boston gem. The food is a diner vibe - bagels, sandwiches, etc., but I think the service and people of Billy's is what makes it so special. You can tell that locals love this place with construction workers and working class people cycling through. It's also one of the only place I've visited that treats its customers as if they're not located in a major US hub - when we ordered out food they told us to pay after we were done eating operating on an honour type system. This place is worth visiting.

Incredible customer service, and awesome subs. We have been coming here for years. Very reasonably priced. Old-school and great.

So I go to school close by so it was a convenient place to grab lunch. I've got food from here probably ten times. And every time I've been let down. Subs are light, worse than subway even. I'm not on a diet though so I wasn't happy. Anyway I figured I'd get breakfast instead this time. So I ordered French toast... How could I go wrong?? The first time I ordered it here it was so under cooked I had to throw it away. It was only like 6 dollars so i figured no big deal right...The next day I still had the same craving so I go there to give it another try. Same thing still under cooked. Seriously... Maybe the cook just doesn't know any better... So about a week later I go in and tell them can you please cook the French toast make it well done but obviously not burnt. I waited 25 minutes for under cooked French toast again! Obviously I didn't even check it until I got back to where I was so it made it even worse and more of a waste of time. Subs are rather light, French toast is comparable to soggy bread. However, their English muffin with bacon was stacked with bacon and good and only 5 dollars.. At least they have good prices!

Wow! The subs are huge and reasonably priced. Short walk from my office and it's obvious this place is popular. Around 12pm on a Friday, they were rocking.Got a custom chicken cutlet sub and it was loaded. Made to perfection and the nice lady who wrapped and handed me my lunch mentioned, "I hope you're hungry." Now I know I wasn't lol! Good bang for your buck. One sub is enough to share or leave half for later! Recommended if you're in the Back Bay area.

I just love this place!! This is my go to lunch place at work. I typically get the grilled chicken Greek salad with their house Greek dressing . I'm not typically a salad fan but this dressing just does it for me. I've also had the breakfast sandwiches and buffalo chicken which were also good. It's a family owned and operated business and they are very pleasant which is a refreshing change from the typical status quo in Boston.

Well... my wife and I were visiting Boston and we weren't sure where to have a sit down breakfast. We went to one place but it was take out only and we saw some people waiting in line outside and they recommended Billy's Sub Shop. It is a little hole in the wall but the greatest blueberry muffin I ever had. Coffee was delicious and our omelets were to die for. Home fries were good as well.

Billy's is my new go to sub place. I've gotten the steak and cheese here (one of their more popular options) as well as the pastrami and both are good. The subs here are a good deal - they're a decent size and my boyfriend and I will often just split one to eat. I've also gotten the home fries here cause who doesn't love a good potato? The home fries here are more soft and aren't all that crispy as a heads up but if you have a hankering for some spuds these will still do the trick.Lastly the staff here are all super friendly and nice. There's always at least a few customers at the store during the hours that I've went here but your food comes out pretty quick. I usually only have to wait 5-10 mins for my food to come out.

Best place with the best people working there! Prices are also so reasonable with big portions!

This is a fantastic sandwich shop with a great team. We stopped here a few different times while visiting the area and each sub we got was better than the last. Looks like a mom and pop operation and they really go above and beyond to serve their customers. Overall, we really enjoyed this sandwich shop and if we visit the area again, we will definitely be back!Our party got - Breakfast sandwiches, a pastrami sub, and a veggie sandwich
