Big Horn BBQ

Stopped by this location on a bike ride, big mistake. We got in line placed a simple order, my wife's food came out by mine never did even after asking twice , the response we were got was "we will let you know when it comes out" .....really. But guess what after 30 min and is asking twice it came out but when I told the server I believe that's mine he was like " no this is not yours" I'm sure my initial order had gone to another table. I had to ask my wife to eat and not wait for me other wise her food would get cold and cold greasy food doesn't really taste all that good. Since I didn't get my food we left this place. It was not even busy, I had to ask them to refund my meal nothing further was offered even after my wife had to eat by herself .... That's very awkward to eat in front of someone while you are doing your best to not stare. The place is nice but the staff has a long way to go. I've been many times to the one on 288 never had a glitch of any nature but this location best to stay away until they figure it out. I did see my food go to another table of course the folks there did not reject the food. Even the server at the end said there was a confusion with your ticket .... No one there to oversee what's going on the floor where customers are dining and tables with plenty of dirty dishes, and I was in the view of the staff for them to see I was not eating but only my wife, and also to see that my dish came out and got delivered to another table. Timing.Thanks for leaving me hungry .

It's was great to be home and get some good BBQ. Luckily this place was close and convenient. The quality of the food was great and the flavor was pretty good. There is a wide variety of options for you to choose from. The food was ready quickly and securely. Of course the brisket was the main attraction. I wouldn't mind coming back to try the rest of the menu.

I like to get their salad with brisket,It's pretty good! And their baked potatoes are pretty tasty as well!

Wonderful service and flavorful food. ThePortions are large. My go to is rib sandwich but the backed potato, rib plate and even their salads are outstanding.

Damn good nachos For $18 I expected a good plate but I was surprised to see how much they loaded the nachos. I swear they weighed 5 pounds I do think they're a bit overpriced but it was still worth trying. The nachos get soggy pretty quickly so eat fast!

Was in the area to take the kids strawberry picking but ended up at Big Horn BBQ for lunch instead. The wife got her a loaded potato and I ordered a 1/2 lb of brisket, pork ribs and sausages with sides. Wife had no complaints about her potato, the meats for me were good but a bit dry, but a little bbq sauce did make a difference. There was a charge for bread FYI. Order and pick up was an ease and staff was super friendly. Come check them out if you're in the area!

This place has some of the driest brisket I've ever tasted in my life!But, for a gas station they do give you quite a bit of "bang-for-your-buck" in itty bitty Alvin.With Hwy 99 coming perhaps there cooking will improve?

Stopped in for take out order, 1# brisket, 1# sausage, 1 qt beans, 1 qt potato salad. Had to enlighten the staff that 1 ot of sides are typically served in qt sized container, not the pint size. At register asked for 3 small containers with lids for pickles, onions, & jalapeños. I was informed there were plastic baggies at condiment counter. After asking again I was offered 1 hamburger size to go styrofoam container. Amusing to spend $70 then be nickled and dimed on inexpensive containers with lids. On getting home I discovered the lid on the beans had not been secured correctly so the single quart of beans had found a new home on top of the rest of my order. The good news was that their plastic bags are indeed liquid proof so only had to clean up tonight's dinner and not the floorboard of my truck. Oh yeah, the mixed contents of the styrofoam condiment container had also escaped to the bottom of the bag to frolic with the beans. Never again Big Horn, NEVER AGAIN!(Edit: while I won't say the brisket was chewy, I will say it would give Old Trapper Beef Jerky a run for their money......

Was there on May 9th. Ordered our food and sat down. Had a placard with our number for them to bring our sides to the table. After about 10 minutes the sides were not out. Told the cashier and she went over to the employees making the sides and told me they would be right out. 15 minutes later we were finished eating and they still were not out. Asked for a refund and was told that they would refund our desserts since the sides were part of the meal we purchased. We went over to the store side and spent more money. Before we left I went back to confirm that the credit was processed and I was told it was. Looking at my credit card statement today and there is no credit. It is not a lot of money but it is just the fact that I was told it was done and it wasn't. We are from out of town but visit family in Santa Fe. Will never go back here again on future visits.

Brisket, turkey, chicken, sides (especially fried okra, sweet potato fries and baked beans) and salads are all delicious! Lots of tables, quiet for visiting and clean.
