After having kids, I started appreciating family friendly restaurants like this place more and more.Barnaby's is a great place for lunch after a family visit at the nearby zoo or museum - they provide coloring books for the kiddos, offer a kid's menu, and the food is good.I usually gravitate towards the cheeseburger because you really can't go wrong with it. The meat is hefty and is cooked how you like it. I always order medium rare and it comes out right each time. It's not fancy nor ranked as my top five, but it's a good quality burger. The fries that it comes with are great and come in an abundance. You can't go wrong with their sweet potato option either!Having a kid menu is nice, though the chicken tenders that we ordered last time weren't good because they composed of mostly hard batter. Considering the price, I don't find it worth it and rather feed the kids a chicken quesadilla.Outdoor seating option is nice, especially during the early Spring when the weather permits. Around the back, they have lawn chairs, a foosball table, large Jenga blocks, and large connect-4 game.Parking is free. You just need to get validated by the waiter.

I routinely come to this Barnaby's and the one on West Gray. And I enjoy both. This location has outdoor seating and is dog friendly. They share a parking garage with two other restaurants and is free of charge on the ground floor. The wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. I've never had a bad experience. The food is delicious. My absolute favorite is the Lebanese Chicken Fattoush salad. It comes in a lunch and dinner size. They both come with the same large and flavorful chicken breast. The difference is the amount of salad greens and about $3 (can't remember the exact amount now because I now only get the dinner sized salad because I believe this is better value and can easily be two meals). The salad includes romaine lettuce, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, red onion, Kalamata olives, feta cheese and pita chips and is served with their homemade vinaigrette that I really love. I get it without onions and pita chips and with extra olives (picture attached). Also, in the attached picture is the Texas Chili Hamburger. Also very good. I love this place for lunch! Also, be sure to try their brownie with vanilla ice cream and lemonade (you get an entire carafe and can take whatever you don't drink to go).

We got there a little early for lunch and sat ourselves. We started with Hummus and they gave a good portion for a group of 3. We ordered Meatloaf and Lasagna and they were delicious with a great serving of food for the price; we had leftovers. I have a feeling id love almost everything on the menu. Would highly recommend. The service was also good. Convenient garage parking nearby also. The inside of the place was nice and colorful.

A great spot for a classic breakfast! We recently tried the Museum District location and had a good first experience. I ordered the buttermilk waffle and got a side of extra crispy bacon, which were both delicious. They also have a bacon waffle on the menu which could be fun to try next time. My parents both got the breakfast plate and really enjoyed it, especially the potatoes. We went on a Sunday morning around 9 am and there was plenty of seating. The service was great, and there was free parking in the nearby garage.

Barnaby's is great when you're in the area, and when it's great outside, though they have indoor seating too. It might be difficult to eat outside if your party is 6+ though.I got the chicken pesto salad sandwich, which I think of as the 'healthy sloppy joe', because it certainly is sloppyyyyy. If you are able to finagle it, it's quite a large portion though! Waffle fries are great, I think they can sub for sweet potato fries too. And don't forget the strawberry lemonade (with free refills!). There were plenty of options for every kind of eater. The servers were friendly and attentive, they did a great job with our waters and lemonades.Oh yeah, they got a puppy menu, so yeah, dog-friendly for sure.

I ordered corned beef and eggs. I was served some type of sliced, chopped beef with a lot of peppers. When I asked the wait staff she said, "It looks like that because it doesn't come out of a can". Wow, condescending much? I cook corned beef at least once a year, when we all pretend to be Irish, and know how it is supposed to look and taste. It's brined with saltpeter, potassium nitrite, for that unique taste and pink color. This meat was gray. I'm not a chef but I am a foodie and this was a fail. When I tried to talk to the staff they didn't bother to listen or get someone else to help me. No, won't be back.

Great place to come for a meal with family/friends and very kid-friendly. This is always the place we suggest going for lunch if we are in the museum district with a group that includes children.Service was fast. We came in a group of 6 adults and 4 children (one in a high chair) around 11:30am on a weekday during HISD winter break, and we were seated within one minute (the time it took them to move tables around for us) - amazing. They have a large kids menu (hamburger slides, chicken burger, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, impossible chicken nuggets, and maybe one or two other options that I am forgetting) that comes with 4 crayons that are hexagonal, so they don't roll off the table- nice. They also have a large adult menu with very generous portions - the salads are humungous! I got the pesto chicken salad sandwich - it was packed with so much chicken that I ate it with my fork until I could get it down to a more manageable size, and I still had plenty leftover to take home. It has a lot of pesto in it, so it's good if you like pesto but something to avoid if you are on the fence or hate it.

Love coming here for some food after visiting the museum district! I have been here twice now with my sister and her kiddos after the museums, and it is a perfect place to accomodate kids! They have coloring books and crayons for the kids as well as a kids menu as well! They got the grilled cheese and milk for the kids, which they loved. They also offered to store the strollers while we ate. Booster seats and high chairs are available. They seem to get pretty busy during the weekends after noon but don't take reservations so you have to come and see how the wait is. They have an extensive menu and HUGE portions as well. I got the hawaiian pork chop with sweet potato fries, and it was DELICIOUS. It was a gigantic plate with 3 pork chops. The flavor was a nice blend of savory and sweetness, much like you would expect from a hawaiian flavor. Pineapple was delicious and sweet. The fries were fried to perfection and good with both ketchup and ranch. The apples were also yummy as well. Overall, 10/10 - I would definitely order this again! The other entrees we got were all HUGE, and most of us had some leftovers to take home as well. Service is so great here too! Everyone is so nice and attentive, even with the kiddos. During pride month, we also saw they had a beautiful pride cake (vanilla). Overall, I love coming to this place! It feels lively inside and has great service and food. I will definitely be returning soon in the future!

Shared a turkey sandwich with the $1 upgrade to sweet potato fries. Very good. Next time I will request extra cranberry mayo on the side. Added Swiss cheese. They split our plate for us without an upcharge. Great place to cool off after the museums.

My son loved the burger here when he came a while ago so I decided to give it a try! The place is very chill and the food smelled real good!! We ordered the baby back ribs and my son ordered the guacamole burger, I also asked for an appetizer which was spinach and artichoke dip with chips! And I did order carrot cake to go because I knew I was going to be pretty full!!The ribs were falling from the bone but!! Yes a but.. the ribs were a bit dry and had to chew many times!! The plates are pretty huge so had leftovers!! The fries are fresh and they give you tons of them!! I just wished the ribs were moist! My son did have a small issue with the seasoning on bread, too much!! Salty and too much pepper which he did wiped off. But the meat was perfectly medium rare and enough food!!! Oh! Almost forgot, the dip was very good but chips could be replaced with thinner less fried because they were pretty hard and not enjoyable The fresh lemonade is very refreshing and not that fake taste like other places. The carrot cake is very good!!! Very spongy and the creamy filling was delicious Service is good, very friendly and nice employees!!! I would have given 5 star but you have a couple things to work on!!
