Want to come back ASAP! Have been wanting to check out Barcelona for a while and finally made it happen! A great spot for a date or dinner with a friend or two! Interior was really clean and open, and quite large. They also have a little outdoor patio space. Service was hit and miss throughout the night but all the food was delicious and decently well priced. We split a pitcher of Sangria which was pretty big and tasty (not overly sweet). We split 5 tapas plates and was just the right amount of food. We ate: the olives, mussels (my fave of the night), papatas bravas (potato's that the server recommended), Yamon croquetas (really nice flavor), and roasted cauliflower (my other fave of the evening).

I've been wanting to try Barcelona for a while now and finally gave it a try recently for a nice date night. The atmosphere is exactly what I expected, modern with a touch of coziness. I like that the music was up and the place felt fun and alive. The server going from table to table and pouring wine from the top of his ladder into everyone's mouth was a fun touch and a perfect instagram/Yelp moment. Now to the wine. I was disappointed that the server had ZERO knowledge of wine- this is a wine bar. He said he knows "a little about the wines by glass but none of the bottles" I asked if they had a sommelier, unfortunately, the answer was no. I'm no expert but have a pretty good knowledge of red wines and was hoping to get more information and a great recommendation for a Spanish red. This was a huge missed opportunity for them to sell a nice bottle especially with the markup they have. We took our best guess on a glass of 2018 Nucerro Reserva. My wife and I enjoyed it and decided to both order a second glass. The pours were inconsistent however and hers were filled higher than mine both times. She also had a Summer Street Sling which she loved. I ordered a pour of the Fortaleza tequila neat-it was great. The food overall was good. There were definitely some highs and lows though. I love the tapas approach allowing you to try multiple items without getting full as well as offering the paellas in multiple sizes. Let's run down what we ordered. Spiced beef empanada- 6/10 neither of us liked it very much. Would have been better paired with a green sauce opposed to the red. It needed a bright acidic punch to balance the dish. The pork belly- 10/10 This was incredible. We both loved it. Cooked perfectly and had a great smoked flavor. The best tapa we had by far. Side note: we asked the server how it was prepared. He said "I don't know. I think it's cooked on the plancha we have back there." I asked how the great Smokey flavor was developed. He said " I think it comes pre smoked" -A bit of a let down. Hanger steak- 7/10 good but could have had more flavor. Very one note as well. Prawns- 9/10 very good. Delicious Aji Amarillo sauce. This one was a winner. Patatas Bravas- 8/10 for what it is, it was really good. Simple potato dish with good flavors and sauces. My wife didn't like it as much as me but she can write her own review lol Paella Mariscos- 9/10 this should have been a 10. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The flavors were great and well developed. The ONLY issue was the socarrat wasn't developed. The key to paella is that perfect crispy rice at the bottom. There was none. It was delicious though. The lack of a sommelier at a wine bar/restaurant, servers not familiar with the dishes nor the wines, this could have easily been a 3 star. However, we loved the vibe, the wine was good that we selected and many dishes were really enjoyable.

As many of you may know, I live near the cypress area in the burbs. I know people all around Houston and don't mind driving out whatsoever. However, when someone asks to meet at a place where parking is an abomination.. my pissy signals start sparking. And boy all mighty.. those pissy signals were in high alert this night. What a freaking mess. You all better get to this place before the Vallet is full because you will be waking about 3 blocks or so in the dark. Although the ambiance makes up for 60% of the trouble. Definitely, a hip crowd of sorts and the lists of wine are endless. Overall, the food was good. Small portions and overpriced for what you are getting. I tried a small plate chorico with fig. It was definitely my favorite.. The taste was awesome. However, it's pricey for the portions. The wines per glass have some that were affordable, but for one person eating light with 2 glasses of wine, you are looking to spend at the very least $60. Overall:Ambiance 5/5Price 3/5Food 4/5Service 5/5Parking 2/5

Nice atmosphere and vibes and the service was great. Our server explained everything very thoroughly to us, and recommend some excellent wines too. I was admittedly a little disappointed with the food. Nothing was particularly outstanding, but we did only try 3 tapas in addition to the Paella so maybe we just didn't choose the right things. The Paella left something to be desired, I wouldn't order it again if I went back. I would give it a second visit, order some different tapas, and try more of their great wines though

I'm From Spain and I approve of this restaurant!! It's so hard to find authentic Spanish food in the US. This place was great. Food was on point. The wine selection made me so happy as I was able to get some sherries that I rarely find in the US. The paella was worth the wait. My favorite tapas were the Patatas bravas and the pulpo. Super nice and modern. Servers were very attentive. I left this place super happy.

Beautiful, intimate tapas restaurant and bar. I love the low light and music in the background. Definitely a romantic spot for a date, but you can also go with friends or solo and enjoy yourself. I went alone and sat at the bar on a Saturday night. It was packed. I believe I got there around 9-10, so I was able to catch a seat at the bar when a couple left. But people were still pouring in. The bartender gave me a glass of their moscato and it was nice and crisp. I had that while I looked over the menu that I shared with everyone else that walked up trying to squeeze in and order from the bar. I have loved octopus ever since I first tried it. But unfortunately I have not experienced it like I did before. Their octopus was moreso burnt on some parts and super squishy at others. The only thing I liked about it were the potatoes and the rosa sauce that it came with. The sauce had a nice spicy kick to it. I also tried their empanadas. I did enjoy the empanadas. It was labeled spicy but it was not. If anything they should add the sauce from the octopus to the empanadas. Instead the empanadas crust had a slightly sweet taste to it, which I enjoyed, and the meat was tasty; but not spicy. Then I ended my visit with their pistachio ice cream. I saw another Yelper mention it. I enjoy some pistachio flavored items and so this was good as well. I would definitely return because there was so many more tapas that I want to try.

The food amazing. Location so cute. Service? Trash. I've never had a worse experience than here. Our waiter was SO RUDE. He would only speak to men at the table, was beyond sarcastic and rude when you asked a question about the menu and was basically MIA until we finally asked for the check and all of a sudden his mood changed. After paying he could not grab the check from me fast enough and then disappeared again.

For early dinner before "Carmina Burana", we went to Barcelona Wine Bar where we enjoyed sharing the tapas such as eggplant caponata, patatas bravas, grilled pulpo (octopus), seared scallops, spiced beef empanadas, house-made focaccia, and crepes. The full cast-iron skillet of Paella Salvaje (chicken, pork belly, chorizo, garbanzos & rice) was enjoyed by all. (Could not have the seafood paella because I'm extremely allergic to crustaceans, to which the rest of party of 7 were considerate towards.) Everyone 'fought' to have a taste of the socarrat (layer of scorched crispy savory crust of rice underneath all the fillings.) A trio of dessert items: Olive oil cake, Flan Catalan, and Chocolate cake (coffee crème Anglaise & almond crumble), courtesy of the beverage manager who was attentive to our needs, topped our dining experience. Ambiance was nice, the valet service was a nice touch; we did not have to wait to be seated as we went right on time for our reservation. We will definitely take the 3-hour drive from home to go back for more tapas and paella pans.
