We went for lunch on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised given the location in a shopping center on aramingo. Around 2pm we were the only ones dining in. We ordered using the QR code on the table and food came out within 10 mins. Chasu pork belly buns - our favorite, great flavor and a nice crunch with the peanuts, we'd definitely get these again. Mini Pork Soup Bao - not super brothy but tasted yummy, didn't seem much smaller than other soup dumplings we've had. Would order again. Philly Cheesesteak Gyoza - these had a good dose of cumin, the flavor was nice but not sure I'd call it a Philly cheesesteak because of that seasoning. Might order again if in the mood for that flavor. Spam Musubi - we didn't realize how big these would be and should have just split one. I wasn't a huge fan, I thought it tasted how dog treats smell, but interesting to try. Service was fine, someone runs the food out to you but it's not a server so we had to get up a few times to ask for napkins/utensils/to go box. Place was casual and cute. For the two of us this felt like a good sized lunch and we took some home. We'll be back to try the ramen and more of the dumplings!

While visiting Philadelphia, I had my fill of sandwiches, so I wanted some Asian food. I saw this spot near where I was staying and stopped by for lunch on a weekday. If you're dining in, you just seat yourself, scan the QR code on the table, and order and pay on the website. You can order both food and boba drinks from the site. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't busy when we got in around 2pm. I made my own ramen with spicy miso broth, shrimp tempura, ajitama egg, bamboo, corn, chili oil, and seaweed. The broth and egg had good flavor, the shrimp tempura was nice and crispy, but my egg noodles were so gummy, I don't know what happened. My boyfriend made his own ramen with tonkatsu broth, and his noodles were the same. We were so sad. The philly cheesesteak dumplings had a nice crispy bottom, but the filling tasted like a cheeseburger, and my bf thought it tasted like a taco. The filling felt too soft, I don't know if they used ground beef. My bf also got a Thai tea with boba. Unfortunately, the tea felt very watery, and the boba was flavorless. The interior was clean and modern, but the food was disappointing.

Hubby found Bao Button on Instagram and wants to try it out. Those IG photos looks very interesting. The dine in concept is definitely different than most. They have self ordering kiosk at the front whether you pay with cash or card. But if you decide to sit down and order, then that's card only because you have to order from scanning their QR code. One of the kitchen staff will then bring your order out to your table. And there is another staff taking plates too. We order Roast Pork Bao, Philly Cheesesteak Gyoza, Pork Bun, Spicy Miso Ramen, and Yaki Udon. Bao Button doesn't make orders as appetizers first then entrees. It is whatever done first, it would be served to the customers. We started with Roast Pork Bun, it is pink, similar to the Charsiu Bao at dim sum but slightly saltier. The Spicy Miso Ramen taste like a dressed up Shin Ramen in a bowl lol. Hubby says the Yaki Udon is okay, nothing special. And the cheesesteak gyoza were mediocre. It was flavorless even with the spicy mayo added. Pork Bun is good, definitely the highlight of our meal. Drinks were $4.50 each, our total was $75. I don't think our meal is worth $75. Make sure you go during Summer months. Or if you go in the winter months, you will need a coat to eat in.

This review pains me to write. I have been twice now. The first night I visited. We had a few in our party and we ordered a collection of things and we sat ourselves. The restaurant looked lightly busy. Not all the tables were full. We waited a good 30 minutes for the first dish to come out. The names on the board mean nothing. The dumplings were really good. The dumplings in spicy soy sauce were soooo good. The food took longer than an hour to fully come. We ended up cancelling part of our order. The location is alright. The inside is cute. The second time I came back because I refused to believe that Ninja Bao could let me down like this, the food was good yet again, but it took so long. There was one other table in the spot full. I had to remind the wait staff of the things I had ordered. The folks are really nice. They are really helpful. The inside is cute, but honestly all the positives get a little outweighed by the negatives. I will come here again. I will order again. I refuse to give up.

Stopped by for a quick dinner, but it was anything but quick. Their ordering system is outdated. You can place an order and it comes up on a screen above the checkout counter, but the timing of the progress is different from when you get your item. I got my food is ready text 5 mins after I got my food (which took half an hour for one bowl of noodles and a side). I ordered a bowl of build your udon, which has a lot of good options, but the menu can be cumbersome since some of the items were the Japanese name (narutomaki - fish cake) and since I had friends waiting to order, didn't have time to Google the items, so I ended up skipping it, cause I would've like it. Some items were a surcharge and mixed in with the free items, which would've been easier to put them in two different categories. The noodles came half an hour later and all I see is a layer of oil on top, which is probably due to the lack of ingredients I selected, so it didn't cover up as much, but it was bit disappointing. The shrimp tempura was very oily and looks to be fried in old oil as it had that dark gold color of a French fry than the light cream color you'd expect of tempura. I also ordered a side broccoli tempura and it's my favorite vegetable to tempura, which came out a few minutes after my udon. I like that it wasn't overly coated in tempura batter, but it was drenched in oil. I had to put a napkin underneath the pieces after the first piece cause I can taste biting into the oil. The sauce came five minutes after.Overall, the place is a great addition to the area, but everything is slow with inconsistency. A bowl of udon should not take a half an hour to make for inhouse eating. We actually saw other tables get food items before me (katsu), so I'm not sure if they have two different stations, but the timing is way off. I have worked in a Japanese restaurant before and seen how long these items are made. Half an hour is generous on a Friday night dinner rush, but this wasn't it. My one friend ordered an order of dumplings after me and that came out after my noodles (I can pan fry these faster at home). I'm also factoring the table that came before me also. This isn't a sit down restaurant restaurant, but has an ordering style similar to honey grow where you place and order and wait. If this wasn't along the way of somewhere I needed to be, I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to come.

Soup dumplings aren't very soupy which was somewhat disappointing. We asked for spoons expecting to need them but we didn't and could eat them with our fingers. They were tasty though! Food came out pretty quickly! Not too busy and fun atmosphere.

SO pleasantly surprised by this place---the food was delicious and the staff was SO kind. I went for the grand opening and there was confusion about my order. No biggie--but the staff gave me a free lychee rose tea for the trouble. And it was, honestly, one of the best tea drinks I've had....I still think about it.The food is delicious and clearly prepared with care. The restaurant is spotless and warm with bamboo interior. It would be nice to come here with a small group and share a lot of different foods.I look forward to coming back. I have been telling friends!

Absolutely delicious. I had the cheesesteak, and the pork bao buns. Both were nicely filled, and very flavorful. This is the second time we went to get Bao buns from here. This time we got the soup dumplings with the ginger soy sauce on the side. A good amount of soup, and a TON of meat inside the buns. Nicely fried, and complex flavors. Highly recommend!

I picked up the Sakura lemonade with rainbow jelly, peach tea with boba, katsudon, gyudon, and each bao: cheese steak, vegetable, and pork. The Sakura lemonade is so yummy and creamy (i believe it has yogurt) and the peach tea isn't too sweet. The bao were bigger than I realized (similar in size to a steamed pork bun, photo included to compare to an iPhone lol) but they were all very delicious too! I'm enjoying the katsudon and my sis loves her gyudon as well. I'll be going back at a later date to try with noodles and I'll definitely eat inside next time. The place was very modern and clean. They played Japanese city pop and a video of an anime motorcyclist driving down a dark highway, just like a chill Lofi video, on a projector. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful
