Bamboo is my favorite restaurant in Malvern. It's quiet and great for intimate conversations. I often see couples/pairs and work teams. You can take a larger group there, but it's a bit quiet and you become hyper aware of just how loud you are lol. They have a lot of different dishes, not just Viet food. There's something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the service. They're always willing to answer questions and help you get what you want. They grow their own chilis and add them to their chili oil and sauces. Be careful - some have ghost pepper in the mix! They don't serve alcohol. It's BYOB and you can buy alcohol next door. They were kind enough to lend us bottle openers and glasses.Bamboo Special with Pork - I LOVE Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (rice vermicelli bowl with pork and egg roll), and Bamboo makes one of the best versions. I can't stop thinking about it for days. The textures are what make it amazing... the crispy meat, crunchy egg roll, and the cut of the pickled veggies.Summer Rolls - Fresh but tasted a bit fishy. The peanut sauce was good.Wonton and Roasted Pork Noodle Soup - I added fish balls and it really elevated the dish. The pork and wontons were flavorful. I like how it comes with veggies too.

We have been to many many Vietnamese restaurants and this place has pretty good decorations. They use a lot of bamboo elements on the walls and separations etc. They really matched the theme. But I have to say that the service and the food are way below their level of renovation. The server rolled eyes on us when we asked for napkins. And they were not very friendly with kids. Food wise, it was just mediocre. It wasn't the traditional homestyle phos, but the americanized pho. I highly suggest to drive more miles to Philly or Norristown for better Pho.

I have been coming here since we moved to Malvern in 2008. The food is always delicious and the staff is friendly. It's family run and the food is homemade. No frozen wontons here. This vegetable noodle soup is one of my go-to meals.

Restaurant: 3/5Service: 3/5Food: 3/5*First impressions*The place seemed crowded (but it is on a Saturday evening). We got seated pretty quickly when we arrived. The dining area looks pretty clean. The tables are tilting though, so beware. The bathroom setup was 'Quite odd" there's 2 entrances, one from the dining room and one for the kitchen staff that uses the same bathroom, it is as if they didn't want to pay for extra bathroom. We ordered one original Pho with everything and one Seafood Pho. The portions are on a bit of a small side for the price (Comparing to Pho places in Philly). But that doesn't matter, what about the flavor? The broth needs some work, it is rather bland. The main ingredient to a great Pho is always the broth because that is what most people goes for first, you should not have to add any sriracha or the hoisin sauce to boost the flavor. They also seem to skim on the amount of protein, not bad just could be better.Service was OK, the staffs just seemed very robotic, doesn't want to be bothered. Provide only bare minimal like the buffet restaurants. All in all, this is good (OK) place to go if you crave Pho really badly. But not something I would drive in the rain or snow (or out of my way) to go get it.

Good place with nice ambience. Food from the menu were good, but took a side order of kimchee which was a let down. It was barely fermented/ not fermented. I liked the soups and soupy noodles along with fried rice. Summer rolls were prepared well.

We have been customers of this restaurant for years and also brought friends over on occasions. The hostess (not sure if she is the owner) has never been friendly, and always seemed moody with her constant cold, stern face. But today we've really had enough; A simple, polite request to change to a different table in a half empty restaurant got us an unhappy face, disrespectful tone, and complete impatience. We've been to many restaurants, and almost all of them served pleasantly and professionally. This one is definitely a winner in having unprofessional services and showing disrespect and discourtesy towards customers.

Note for all vegetarians and vegans-- Although the website says "vegetarian" options, when I went to order I was told "this is not a vegetarian restaurant" and my only options were numbers 63 and 64.
