Bake’n Bacon

Finally made it to Bake'n Bacon...A friend had been raving about this spot. I wanted some cornbread and she said let's go so we went. Upon entry one of the servers and Justin of the owners greeted me at the door. I ate at the bar with my friend who was waiting. As she has been her quite often she knew the staff and introduced me to my new friends: Calvin the second owner, bartenders - Nish and Chrissy. I enjoyed the energy and the music playlist was a vibe...hit and hit. I normally dance when my food is good but I was jamming before the food arrived, and after it left. It was just good energy. I ordered the famous hanging bacon which hangs over cornbread. Delicious. The bacon is dipped in the sauce of your choice and it drops down onto your cornbread. I also ordered the brisket bacon burger. For some reason I didn't realize that a burger still came with the brisket and burger. Nevertheless, it was amazing. I asked for extra barbecue sauce on the side and I was in heaven...well good heaven. The burger comes with fries...I was not sold on the fries but the burger kept me company. I did have a taste of the pound cake. To me the pound cake was perfect without the Carmel bacon sauce. Kudos to the baker. I had a peach lemonade as my drink. Love when you can be creative with staple drinks. It also is my fancy as I'm not a drinker.Overall, the restaurant looked amazing I even got caught up in figuring out the logo. Kudos to Nish for asking Calvin and him being open in sharing the vision. The silverware was black. It gave a regal classy feel with black eating dishes as well. Bonus: I left the restaurant with my leftovers and ended up chatting with my friend and locals. After some time had passed, I had to use the bathroom. I went back to Baken Bacon...I know two times in one day. I must be stopped (lol). But the bathroom was just as classy. It was all black. The soap scent mixed with the climate was top notch. I enjoyed myself and would go again.

I have to go one star, rude (in my opinion) service will do that. Empty dining room, flies at the bar, so when the server/hostess (I'm not sure), came over and I asked if we could have a table, it was not well received. Then I was told when my full party arrived, we could have a table (not nicely). I completely get that concept but this was, outside of two people, a completely empty dining room, there wasn't a big rush coming and again, there are flies buzzing around the bar. People have bad days, it was hot, I get it, but my experience was my experience. Another person came up after and was kind and said hoped we would come back (we said it was the heat in there, didn't feel like discussing it in the moment), and I appreciate that, but first impressions matter. I'll go two stars instead of one because I cannot knock the food or drinks since we didn't try anything.

Leaving review during the meal. The server was nice but the manager was rude. I ordered the hanging bacon it came out cold like straight from the fridge. I explained this to the server. Shortly after the manager came over in a scolding manner he explained how fast the food came out. ' I timed the order it was turned around in 4 minutes it's now 25 minutes later". Excuse me I prayed and began to eat. Not to mention we were seated at 6:55 ordered drinks at 7:00 and appetizers at 7:05. At 7:17 is when he went over the turnaround time. The time ain't timing, and the math ain't mathing! My husband bacon was warm and he IS NOT A COMPLAINER said 'that feels like it's out the fridge'!

I went to dinner on a Thursday evening with my girlfriends and boy did we stumble upon a gem!! It's a Black owned establishment that did not disappoint!! The ambiance is very calm and the music was fitting for the environment. The place wasn't packed but definitely had a nice crowd. Now, the name is bake n bacon so of course you may assume that there are only bacon options. Nope! Their menu caters to many eating preferences! (Check out the pic of the menu). Our server was Richard who was very attentive, gave us suggestions and made sure that we had a great dining experience. Now, the food! 10/10! Everything was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. I had a small issue with my mussels but the food was so good it's not even worth mentioning! As you can see in the pictures the food did not disappoint! The entrees don't come with bacon, however, as Richard told us, you can add bacon to anything!! I left stuffed and happy. I'm telling everyone to tell somebody to tell somebody else to get to south Philly for these delicious eats!

We were greeted as soon as we entered and was escorted to our seats. The seating area was very comfortable. We ordered the hangin bacon with Thai chili sauce ( pieces of cornbread was under each piece of bacon and the cornbread caught the drippings of Thai chili sauce from the bacon). I ordered the salmon ( mashed potatoes. And asparagus) with a side of Mac n cheese. The salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned well! The mac n cheese was nice and creamy. Our waiter was very attentive and got us to order the pound cake (with bacon infused caramel sauce ) for dessert by telling us it was one of the owners grandmothers recipes. We were sold immediately ! And the pound cake did not disappoint. We will definitely visit this restaurant again !

My experience was nothing short of amazing! The restaurants decor is so inviting, so well thought out and put together, the food was delicious. I had the mac & cheese, which was creamy and full of flavor., and I had the brisket burnt end, also full of flavor and tender!!! The hanging bacon was to die forI sat at the bar and got to speak with the owners and the bartender, and I had a such a good timeI highly recommend this place I will definitely be returned

Let's start with the name Bake'n Bacon how could you go wrong? Tonight I had the bbq fried shrimp and a side of broccoli and will be making my way back to try other items on the menu.The bbq sauce was perfect combination of sweet and light heat. The shrimp and bbq was cooked to perfection and I don't know what they did to the broccoli but it was perfectly cooked with the right amount of garlic and butter.The ambiance and selection of cocktails, liquors and beers are on target for anyone interested in coming in for an adult beverage.My server (Steve) was very attentive and personable not once did I have to ask for anything.Although I caught a ride share this evening, there is some parking on 11thWebsite: https://bakenbacon.comInstagram: @baken_baconfoodtrucks

I was hoping this was a good corner bar where i could come a few times a week. It's more like a nightclub vibe. I paid 16$ for a whiskey and diet. I had 2 drinks, my niece had 2 ciders and we had terrible frozen chicken tender appetizer, the bill was $73. The menu is super heavy. And it has like 50 items, too much. I had to go somewhere else for dinner after. It's a shame they put a lot of money into the building but it's not gonna last. Not affordable for my neighborhood. The bartender was very friendly.

Server was great, Service not so greatWe were a party of 6 and one our party got his entrée when the appetizers came out, about 45 mins into service. We then waited another 20 mins for our entrees. Food was decent not bad, however it was blemished when the service was atrocious. We were then given a discount of 15% on food only ( we had gotten cocktails too). Overall not a great experience. The bill came out in a prompt time however.

The atmosphere was so cozy. The music was perfect and not too loud as I could still hear the conversation I was having. I got the hanging bacon which was delicious. I also got the Mac Motherload Mac n cheese and the caramel pound cake which were also amazing. Our server was very friendly. There is 20% gratuity automatically so be mindful of this when choosing your items. Also, at around 2 hours of us being there, we were asked to leave the table but were given the option to go to the bar of we liked. I didn't take away a star because it was a busy Friday night and I was actually enjoying the ambiance, but at that point it was time to go lol.
