Soft serve was good, it was unfortunate that they ran out of sample cups so we had to order on a whim and hoped that we liked it.I ordered the Thai tea/ube swirl and early grey in a cup. I enjoyed these flavors but feel like it could be better. The ube was strong but the Thai tea was a bit lacking. When you try them together, ube completely overpowers it. Service was decent, cashier was there to take our orders but really didn't offer exceptional service. My friends ordered their soft serve on cones and felt like it was meh. Soft serves melted real quick so the cones became soggy. There was also a weird aftertaste from the cones, can't pinpoint what it was.Overall, good experience to try but not sure if I would actively come back. Seems like it's more for aesthetics rather than taste

One of the newer Baes in my life is this trendy ice cream shops in Chinatown. You really have to be looking for it as it's not front facing to Bellaire. They've been around for several years, but it's still always popping up on social media for their colorful soft serve offerings. When I came on a Friday night, the place was poppin' with mostly a younger crowd including the staff. The line moved quick and customer service was just ok. Their specialty here is soft serve with unique flavors twisted together to make a beautiful creation. I think the flavors rotate for the most part with a few sticking around longer than others. They have unique flavors combinations like mango and strawberry, fruity pebbles and cinnamon toast crunch, charcoal pineapple and vanilla, etc. I like chocolate and the only flavor combination I saw that day was Koo Koo for Earl which was a Cocoa Puffs and Earl Grey Tea combination. I got in a chocolate cone, but you can also have it served in a cup or waffle bowl. I chose no toppings, but they have a bunch of topping to choose from including unique items like edible hearts and 24k gold leaf flakes. Go ahead, you know you want to do it! You know we had to take some pics for the 'gram but dug right in after. I thought the ice cream was fantastic. The Cocoa Puffs flavor was definitely there and it really brought me back to my childhood. The tea flavor was present too and somehow the combination of cocoa and tea really worked. We all enjoyed what we got.I definitively enjoyed what I got here and can see myself coming back if in that specific shopping complex. Otherwise I shall let the hip and cool kids have it for now!

I was excited to try this little dessert shop tucked away in china town, but it was just okay. The ice cream is icy more so than creamy, and the flavors are hit or miss. I got the Thai tea ube swirl in a charcoal cone. I did not taste either flavor, it was more so just a balanced sweet taste. I will say thought, it wasn't too sweet which is nice. My boyfriend got the fruity pebble Cinnamon Toast Crunch swirl. I think the flavors on this were more pronounced/precise, but not for me. I respect their innovative flavors and even selection of cone flavors. It just was not for me. But taste is subjective! It's worth a try if you're in the area.

Came right like 30 minutes before closing. I wasn't too familiar with the flavors but I tried the Altubae which was a combo of Thai Tea and Ube- great safe choice if you've never been to Bae. We weren't able to get toppings because it was right before closing which we found odd but didn't fight it. Very cute shop and would come back if I'm in the area

I came here for a sweet dessert after eating at a nearby restaurant. The first impression I had when walking in was that I just discovered that I was in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. There was no one at the counter and there was no one else in there. It was decorated nicely but also had the feel of a place that was really cool a while back but not as much now, or at least not today. There was a dark ambiance and the music playing kind of accentuated the empty feeling of the place. Not going to lie, I kind of dug it.After a minute or so, someone came out from the back. I stepped up to the counter and asked if I could have samples of Altubae (Thai Tea and Ube) and Mixed Feelings (Charcoal Pineapple and Vanilla). They both tasted good, so I ordered both in natural cones. In retrospect, I would have ordered a matcha cone for the Altubae. I took them to go and as I walked back to my car, they started melting very rapidly, so I was doing all I could to scarf down the soft serve. The Altubae was good and pretty much what I expected, which was an ice cream version of a Thai Tea and Ube drink. The Mixed Feelings was good as well but not spectacular. I opted for no toppings on either, so I could focus purely on the soft serve. Overall, I had Mixed Feelings. The soft serve was good. I'd come back but I'm not going out of my way to return. It's not somewhere I would say is a must go to in Houston or Bellaire but it's not disappointing either. Ice cream is probably my favorite sweet treat and I've eaten a lot of it. There just wasn't enough here to make me feel like I'm missing out on something special.

Nestled in a side unit within Sterling Plaza, Bae has answered the calls of soft serve lovers everywhere since their hyped debut several years ago. The recent heat waves have resulted in good business for the frozen treats industry and my visits to Bae have been more frequent than ever.Their arrival has also set off a string of similar bizes that also specialize in trendy, hip, (albeit) franchised spots in the same vicinity. The visibility for Bae would have been my initial concern but the crowds have been flocking to the area still and their reputation has stayed consistent overall. The place is small but has some communal seating and fairly clean bathrooms. The contemporary, IG friendly decor is a hit with the millennial and gen z crowd, and families are definitely getting in on the action as well. Ventilation is good for obvious reasons (#1) and it's become a good post meal dessert option. As for the ice cream itself, I think they definitely have one of the better soft serve options in town. Unfortunately like most soft serve, it doesn't travel well and should be consumed on the spot. I have liked all of their signature combos, particularly anything ube and even something simple like vanilla is still fire.Service hasn't always been their forte, but they're young and get the job done. I appreciate that they have a loyalty card and I also like that they aren't pushy about what ice creams to get. I do wish they were better about cleaning the tables. Of course, none of the items come cheap, but this is the wrong place for anything affordable dessert wise. Overall, I like Bae. I've become a regular and I always know what to expect whenever I come here: Good, temp reducing, satisfying, soft serve ice cream. ___________(#1) Can't have the ice cream melting now ...

Altubae- thai tea & ube. Very good. Ube seemed to be the more dominant flavor. Koo koo for earl - cocoa puffs & earl grey. Bf liked his, but I wasn't a fan of the earl grey. Couldn't really taste the cocoa puffs.$5.60 for a cone or a cup (u get more ice cream in a cup) . Extra 60c for a waffle bowl. They also have different flavor cones (I got chocolate). Generous portions (shareable unless you're eating with your eyes like we did), but there is a hollow center (deceiving).
