Do you like onion rings shaped in a smiley face on you burger? Then call off the search, this is your brand new lunch spot. The food is good to outstanding, and the service is nothing short of impeccable. Get here early because they run out of stuff sometimes. Overall great place to eat if you are in the Liberty/Julian/Climax tri-city area.

They must have changed hands. It used to be a really good place to eat. Slow service in an almost empty place. The lemonade was lemon flavored water at 3 bucks a glass. The burger I got was ok. They used to have a really nice little buffet that apparently is only open on Sunday now. I've eaten there many times in the past, but I won't be back.

This is the best kob ive ever worked at and everything they make is homemade it's just an amazing work place and also an amazing place to eat

Something is open then shuts down great food only open until 7 and great service is good

Good food nice people I only recommend making your fried steak and gravy actually fried steak and not hamburger meat with some tempura on it

While in the general area on business, we decided to try out the small lunch buffet here. This is one of the few places to eat in the area, and while it is not all that much to look at, it serves up some solid, if not spectacular food. It is located in a tired looking strip center, but the restaurant is clean, if a little dimly lit.The small buffet generally has 3 or 4 meat choices, with some changes each day, and 4 to 6 vegetables, also with a change or two, day to day. We tried the Beef Stew dish (cooked in a rich, brown gravy with green pepper and onion), Chicken Tenders, Chopped BBQ, Pot Pie, Mashed Potatoes, Black-Eyed Peas, Corn, and Turnip Greens.Everything was pretty good, but there was nothing that blew you away, either. The BBQ was solid, if a little on the sweet side from the sauce. The Beef Stew was a little different because of the thick brown gravy, cooked more like you would Country Style Steak. Chicken Tenders were nice, Pot Pie a little on the dry side, and thick. Veggies were canned, though the mashed potatoes seemed freshly made, and they were a little thick.Service was great, friendly folks here. This is not a destination spot for this type of country cooking, but if in the neighborhood again around lunch time, we'd stop in.

It's nasty as f**k here yo. We sat at a table and ordered I looked over there was a hole in the wall with rat poop inside it. I ordered chicken and green beans the chicken was pink inside and tasted like straight grill. The green beans had so much grease that it coated the roof of your mouth.

Came tonight because I love their salt & pepper catfish.First off had to repeat our order to the waitress because she seemed distracted. I ordered buffet ($14.99), my daughter a salad. Our bill arrived before our drinks.I ate a salad then went back for hot food. My daughter's salad still had not arrived. (A good 10 minutes since ordering)The catfish was cold, barely room temp. I had to ask about the status of my daughter's salad, when it finally arrived she had no dressing. She had to go to the salad bar and get her own.I had to ask for a drink refill.All this for almost $30Very disappointed

Came to get a couple hotdogs I had a phone call and stood outside to not be rude being on the phone while ordering it was 6:45 they cut the open sign off and said they were closed meanwhile 2 people walked in right before I ended my call. Terrible customer service will never go there again

Last night we decided to go for a second time to have dinner at the Backyard Grill, since we had a good experience and the really good food on our first visit. Unfortunately, this visit was the polar opposite. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the woman behind the counter. We waited a few minutes to be seated, and was not greeted or spoken to by the waitress. She put our menus on the table and walked away. There was only 1 occupied table that had already received their food. As we were waiting a while for her to return to take our food and drink order, she seated two women who had just arrived. She never returned to our table. She had taken drinks to the two women and was already taking their food order. My husband was very upset and said, "We are leaving!". We drove to Randleman and had dinner at Olympia instead. We experienced great service, and great food!
